Hi Taylor (and Bobby as you are the captain and responsible for your crew), don't take this the wrong way. Please wear an inflatable life-jacket and harness if your going to leave the cockpit when you are on watch. On my boat we have the small Raymarine Life Tags, these are MOB beacons that will activate an alarm on the boat should you go over the side and will track your position on the chart plotter. Also, at night its good to have a strobe on the life-jacket. Much easier to help find you in the dark. Would hate to see anything happen to you guys on your travels. Stay Safe!!

Awesome episode, but I was a little nervous watching the lovely Taylor standing on the bow at dawn with everyone else asleep. She’s not wearing a PFD, and, if she slips in goes in, it’s not going to end well. When I single-hand or am alone on deck I always wear a PFD with a SARSAT beacon. If there’s a nastier way to go than treading water by yourself far from land while your boat sails away on autopilot, I don’t want to try it. Stay safe guys! Lance H. SV Great Escape. (In Canada - hi Taylor!)

@@Sailingdoodles You just need the charger to be a dc to dc type and the battery to have enough capacity to keep it running during other operations that reduce the voltage. This pack can supply about 2 amps you might need 2 or 3 depending on the chartplotter draw. Full bright, radar on, etc...check it with an amp clamp: www.amazon.com/Tenergy-Capacity-Rechargeable-Replacement-Equipments/dp/B077Y9HNTF/ref=sr_1_29?crid=3DXTZ32QESHHE&dchild=1&keywords=12+volt+lithium+battery+small&qid=1585847586&sprefix=small+12+volt+lithium%2Caps%2C214&sr=8-29 If you hook it up directly to the 12volt line to the navpod you may need a diode to prevent a backfeed when running the windlass. sciencing.com/build-dc-ac-power-inverters-6454650.html
