I never know what to expect from Mitchell, but she held her end up tonight. If she sustains that level of performance, the Clark-Mitchell backcourt will be formidable. CC needed someone other than Boston to step up.

I haven't had that much fun watching a basketball game in years. This includes the NBA, which I gave up on, I'm stoked about this fever team. This is fun. WNBA can screw this up but if they do, they do. They have sold out crowds and massive new fan base made up of old fan bases that are men and loyal as heck.
We are now loving watching great hard nose basketball. It's CC, Boston and others that started this and we have hung our saddles on the Fever and would love to do the same with other teams that adopt this type of ball. Great players coming out, get them and dump the old school coaching and playing. New coaches and new focus.
Don't blow this. We're (men fans of ball) are pulling for you. Tonight I talked to 3 of my guy friends that all were up to their necks in watching the fever play. Heck we've been talking about this game for a week.
These are dudes. These are dudes, some old like me, that know the game and love it. Also, I've got grand nieces that have CC and Fever team posters on their walls. They got the gear, like tshirts, jerseys and wilson balls. My nephew took 3 of the girls (I mean 10 and under) to the game Have no idea how much the tickets cost, but the kids were out of their minds about getting to see CC play. You see. That's it. That's it. Catlin Clark is building young fans. These little girls and boys will grow up with love for the WNBA. They will be fans for life as will be their kids and so on. CC stays after the game and signs autographs and there's tons of kids crying their eyes out in joy just to get the chance to get a pic with their hero.
The WNBA don't get it. Like the MLB, they forgot the kids. That's why MLB is dieing on the vine. The games were too long. Too expensive to go watch and eat a dog. Way too many drunks to take your LL team. Night games when they can't stay up for. Players that think they are above it all. Guess what. The kids grew up and old and their kids had their backs turned to them by the players and teams. They gave up and now pay video games.
CC is the great white hope for the WNBA and for us old fans that want that type of game back in our lives. Our kids, grandkids and so on will be lifelong fans too. Thanks CC. Now fire all the Coaches, hire great ones from D1 and the NBA, recruit those great players you've lost because you wanted to keep these players that they think are hero's to the game but other than the fever team and Angel R, kids couldn't name a single player in the WNBA.
Go crazy in the draft. Dump all the old players that are past their time or could not adjust to a fast paced physical game. The older players have to go.
Do this and you'll never need NBA player association money again. You may have to loan them some. Regardless you'll pay your way and the salaries will reflect it.
Now the last thing. You have to dump these refs. A new breed of refs are needed for a new breed of play. Fast, hard nosed and likened to the days of Byrd, Magic and Wilt. Bruises are just bumping and bumping ain't no foul.

I gave up on the NBA years and years ago and I actually thought the WNBA folded years ago until Caitlin Clark came along and now, I am a die-hard fan of the Fever and Clark! I too am an old basketball fan and when I was little, in our house when certain guys in the NBA played on TV it was a happening like Earl the Pearl Monroe, Pete Maravich, Calvin Murphy, then on the Larry the Legend, Magic and Jordan and that's the era when I stopped caring about basketball because the NBA started to embrace BLM and took on political BS and brought it into the league like that POS Labron James! All I care about now is the Fever and Caitlin Clark and I'll leave my interest is basketball right there! That where it starts and stops these days. Take care!

You can tell the Fever didn't have great chemistry early in the season but now they're clicking, Caitlin Clark needed the Olympic Break she's been playing non stop since last college season. Something about CC she's special, she has that it factor, SHE'S BOX OFFICE!

The Fever are great, but they have to learn to pull it together as a team and hang on to huge leads! They blew a 28-point lead and Phoenix actually took the lead at one point. The same thing happened the last time they played Phoenix! Also, it's a lot harder for a guard to get double doubles in scoring and assists than it is for a player to get them as a low-post rebounder and layup shooter! That being said, Caitlin Clark is the undisputed rookie of the year if not also the league MVP! What Clark is doing is amazing!

She did pick up her 6th T tonight. It was early. She was jawing at the official. We didn’t see it and the broadcast quickly moved passed it. 1 more T and she catches a 1 game suspension. It doesn’t really matter thought. DT sits out every 2nd or 3rd game anyway. Just like she needed to do in Paris. She wasn’t ready for that Olympic grind tournament. Robin, I like that you gave Sides some flowers. I think she managed the substitutions as well as possible. There are no points on the bench. Hull should be starting with her defense. Dantas is a good sub for Boston or Smith. Wheeler is the only guard, and her game just doesn’t fit what the Fever do. If Sides had a better guard on the bench, this team could be unstoppable once Temi returns.
Wow Caitlin over Olympians. Her game is phenomenal and some of those passes just Wow.
Coach Sides finally figured out the closer lineup. The middle of that game she tried some things, but that finisher lineup at the end finishes.
I would also like to point out that the entire Fever team had 10 total turnovers. Last season the team averaged 15 per game.

I know it seems like Caitlin was on the bench a lot but I believe she played over 35 mins that game. So it was under 5 minutes of game time that she wasn’t playing.

First, yes at least you among the CZcams contributors can acknowledge Mitchell. Hell, she had over half of CC’s assists! It speaks volumes how she is constantly not acknowledged for what she does and will leave.
Second, the Fever’s perimeter defense still sucks. They were lucky the Mercury-who’s defense also sucks-missed so many wide open shots the first 15 minutes of the game. A family member dropped in and watched the game with me for 10 minutes-he’s a sports fan but not the W-and asked me why do they leave the shooters so wide open? I said that is their defense. They suck. Fortunately for them the other team is nearly as bad and is in a back to back.
I saw the same thing in the Dallas game. Pitiful defense from Dallas even with Sabally back. Thomas had 12 pts, 14 assists and 8 rebounds in 31 minutes of play.
