In many instances, a musician or music label will tend to add different "versions" of songs (sped up, slowed and reverbed, acapella, instrumental, etc.) in order to push for more streaming/sales numbers as any play there counts as a play for the original song. This was usually done with singles of popular songs, but there's now been full albums of these edits, with the 21 Savage albums being an infamous example this year.

It's not a talking heads compilation, but an album of talking heads covers by various artists. Miley cyrus's cover of psycho killer is awful. The rest of the tracks are okay. However, so many of those songs are so beloved by rym users that the stylistic changes made in the covers are hated. Honestly as a decent talking heads fan I too wasn't a fan of the album, but it was a cool idea.
All music and musicians of all walks of life are now nothing, music has been placed into the same frequencies of sound as a car horn or a the wind blowing with the ocean of music that is instantly available on Spotify and CZcams making the art of being a musician meaningless and just a pastime hobby as apposed to real artistry, what is a song worth anymore if you can listen to it and ignore it whenever you so desire. Music is nothing now, that’s its legacy as an art form now.
