Fun Fact: Bill’s lyrics remind me a little of a way David Byrne from Talking Heads wrote lyrics for the album Speaking In Tongues (1983). That’s the name of the album because he made the melody by singing whatever words he wanted as a way to avoid writer’s block. I agree with calling it musical doodling.
Not even just the lyrics, the composition in generally is really special and jazzy, Charles Cornell did a couple of breakdowns going in depth on what makes his music so fun.
I love how the lyrics don't make sense but are very meaningful. The very fact that they don't make sense means they mean different things to different people and I think that's one of the best things art can do

I love Bill’s way of making every syllable land so softly. The way he brings out the small clicks and more fluid sounds in speech helps make each word sound softer and cleaner, like his voice has a purifying filter on it

Not too long ago, I wrote an essay in school about this song, in which I compared it to some literature, I've spent tens of hours analyzing the lyrics. this song is fantastic, because, despite me listening to it on repeat and analyzing every word for about a month straight, coming back and listening to it again, I have an entirely different interpretation that really hits home. By far one of my favorite songs.
