    I just replaced my ratty old Schwinn pump with the PFP-8 and it's a major upgrade. Up to full pressure in less than ten strokes, a confident locking head and a giant gauge that's easy to read. Thanks, Park Tools!

    My whole life I thought you push down to unlock, no wonder I would always be difficult to put on and take off, hope I didn’t damage the part that goes on to valve and still works like intended.

    Thanks for making this video for others. My lifeline floor pump is now pushing air out as soon as I reach 50 psi, it use to go up to 120 psi. Its 4 years old. Does that mean I need a new pump?

    Do they still sell floor pumps with a connector head that screws into the Schreader valve (via the threads on the Schreader valve)? For me, it was easier to seat and secure the connector to the tire valve.

    No matter what I do my dual valve only pump through the presta. Even on new pumps.

    • @hjeffwallace

      Mine would only pump through the shrader. I have a little puff from my lips & it loosened the check valve inside. My pump was new, but had been marked down. It must have been sitting a long time.
      You might just tap the hose end on the floor?

    can you tell me how I sought the air from coming out of the needle that's going to blow up a basketball and make it come out of the pump to blow up a tire please?

    • @parktool
      @parktool  Před 4 lety +1

      The heads of these pumps uses a rubber ball inside that moves back and forth to block the side you are not using. If air is coming out the wrong hole, the ball is stuck, sometimes from moisture that builds up inside the pump. Sometimes simply tilting the head can free the ball to let it float over and block. Another method is to free it by a smack. Hold the pump head flat in you hand. Smack in down on a work bench, flat. Now pump you thumb over one hole and pump. Now switch to the other hole and pump again. It should switch between the two to block them.

  • @towersNick

    The air only comes out of the Schrader valve when I'm trying to pumpa presta valve using my consumer Park Tools pump. What's the fix?

    • @parktool
      @parktool  Před 2 lety

      There is a check ball in the head that is probably stuck. You can try to dislodge it by hitting the head on a hard surface and then retrying. Or follow this guide. www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/pfp-4-and-pfp-2-service

    Hi, what are the dimensions of PFP-7 PROFESSIONAL FLOOR PUMP?

    • @parktool
      @parktool  Před 7 lety +1

      The PFP-7 is approximately 26.5" tall by 10.5" wide by 6.5" deep. With the feet folded up, it is approximately 6" wide.

    when I use the Shrader air comes out of the Presta hole. What am I doing wrong?

    • @parktool
      @parktool  Před 4 lety +2

      The design on these head use a rubber ball inside. It floats back and forth between the two, Presta and Schrader, to block the one not in use. Over time these can collect moisture and gunk and can start to stick. Typically you can free the ball by a controlled impact. Hold the head in the flat of your hand. Smack in down flat on a work bench. Put your thumb over each end and pump, the ball should move to block the opposite hole. If it is necessary to get inside see www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/pfp-6-and-pfp-3-service

    At 1:46 he must mean hose, or tube of the pump, not the tube in the tire bicycle. Or maybe it is tubeless tire, but he should have said hose of the pump to be clear.

      The gauge could have worn out or broken. We do have replacment gauges. it could also be the 1 way valve. Contact Info@parktool with a detailed run down of what is going on with your pump and we will get back to you with the best option for you. Thanks for reaching out.
