PAN 5R-891BR: A strongly prolific medium early white hybrid, well adapted to western regions.

PAN 5R-891BR is a highly prolific medium early white hybrid that is particularly well adapted to the western production regions. It features second-generation stalk borer protection (MON89034) and glyphosate tolerance.
This platform includes PAN 5A-291, PAN 5B-491B and PAN 5R-591R and is recommended as the core of a white hybrid package, especially in the western production regions of the north western Free State and North West. These hybrids are very well adapted to low plant population growing conditions.
Combined with their strong prolificacy, these hybrids are very well adapted to the western production areas where rainfall and production conditions are more variable over seasons. They tolerate drought stress well and compensate under good production conditions by producing a second cob. The package is also well adapted for the eastern production areas, including the north eastern Free State.
