How far up from the base is the ipad stand slot
C'est mon rêve d'avoir un atelier comme le votre !!! 🙏
@@Chris_PerthWA Wondering the same myself. From the video it appears to be a 1" wide slot centered 2" from the bottom of the board (you can see the reading on Marie's combo square is 1.5" and 2.5" when she draws it).
Wow, that bread slicer is the best thing since sliced bread
Light boxes are excellent!!!!
Thank you!
@@DIYMontreal love from Burlington Ontario. Also the iPad/book stand looks great and I see elements of your standing desk project from previous video 🙂
The first real wood worker I have ever seen.
Respect from Syria
The straw method is a game changer…just got yourself another subscriber
Are you kidding me!!!! That lamp is killer!,! I need a woodworking mentor lol
Good ideas, excelent, thank you my friend. Luiz ,Rio de Janeiro city.

WOW! Super!

Hallo,
What got me to click on your video was seeing Montreal in the name. I grew up in N.D.G I absolutely love the cookbook stand and it's nice to see a woman doing this stuff. It gives me the inspiration to do it myself.
lol;;;notice ya have a rib sver on the band saw;;;great gifts girl;;;;thumbs up
I'm always amazed how different wood workers accomplish similar outcomes with various tools.
One more tip that makes life so much easier. White vinegar removes glue residue. If you've wiped most of the glue off at the beginning, there shouldn't be much left. However, if you wipe the whole piece down with white vinegar, you'll see any residue left over. As you know, those residue marks show up like a beacon once you put the finish on, and then you're down to sanding off not only the finish, but the glue residue.
With white vinegar, all you have to do is dampen the spots, wait until it starts to become opaque (if it's thick) or simply scrub thin spots until the glue comes out. It will actually pull the residue out of your wood completely without raising the grain. For thick spots, you can easily scrape them off and then repeat to get rid of anything left in the wood.
Now, BE CAREFUL on joints. If you flood the joints with too much vinegar (some folks flood the whole thing, yikes), it could very easily take apart your joint since it will seep below the surface. Better to pat, let it sit, rub or scrape, and repeat until it's gone. I volunteer as a supervisor in a 50+ woodshop and we have a jug of white vinegar specifically for this purpose. Works great and saves a LOT of sanding as well as a lot of "Doh!" later.
The adjustable book holder was my best. Thank you
Some great ideas again. thks. [ love the lamp ]
Thank you! 😊
@@DIYMontreal No prob. You keep making and I'll keep watching [ + learning ! ] Rgds
WHAT!!! People in Canada drink Corona, very surprising. Thank you for the Timely Christmas projects. I made my sister your Christmas tree cutting board and she loves it.
Ha well, there aren't that many beers that still come in a bottle around here it seems ;)
I love a woman with a tool shop like yours. Great work!!!
That lamp is really neat! And not very difficult at all to make!
Nice ideas, fantastic your projects.
Nice tools and good work.
Nice Work Thanks!!
Some great projects there! The lamp was awesome 👌👍
Thanks, glad you like it!
I don’t have your equipment or woodworking skills but I’m mesmerised by the detail you put into everything you make.
Thank you, appreciate it!
Anything is possible with what you have
Best technics, best ideas, orinial, clean & simple. A master here !! thanks a bunch ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I want to thank you for the cookbook holder idea. I went brain dead on gift ideas and now everything is back to good. 👍
So cool , nice ideas! thank you
Good job and project thx for sharing enjoyed it
Made the Ipad holder for my wife. Loves it! Thanks for a great idea.
I’m jealous! You have a fabulous workshop.
I pretty jealous how much equipment you have... -- I have a lot... but I can get to them... my garage. I live in Florida --- so I am counting the days waiting til it gets below 90 to clean up my garage.
Can't wait until this Christmas.
I'm only one minute in and the straw to clean up the glue is brilliant!
Every time I watch one of your videos where you include that flip top cabinet for your DeWalt planer, I smile. I built mine EXACTLY like you did yours (according to your build video) and it is the best shop accessory I have. Thank You!
Do you think your laser engraver was a good purchase? It's rather expensive and I wanted to hear your comments on it before taking your advice on buying it.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks! Love thay flip top it's served me well! As for the laser engraver, I'm still just figuring out how to use it and barely scratching the surface with what it can do. So it's too soon to tell if it's worth it, but I hope so!
I think the straw technique to get rid of glue squeeze out is genious.
Love this channel
Love it! Thanks
Your workshop organisation / jig game is absolutely inspirational. Incredible work.
WOW 😲
I'm not a woodworker yet I enjoy your channel and especially your gift ideas every year. I love these.
Awesome! Thank you!
Love it! And frankly, just in time.
Loved the bookmarks!
Love the lamp! New subscriber
Good ideas
I love these ideas! The lamp is surprisingly easier to make than what it seems.
I totally agree!
Great ideas. Thanks for all you do. I made the cookbook holder this week. Came out great. Used solid cherry for backing and maple for the stand. I did change one dimension from your plans. While the foot on the stand is sufficient for an iPad, it is not deep enough for my wife's thicker cookbooks. For example, her Betty Crocker cookbook is two inches thick. So I made the foot of the stand larger to accommodate people who cook old school style. Thanks again!
Choc full ‘o’ awesome!!
Thank you for using powertools and not making a big deal about it as the other feamle " carpenters" do. Love your ideas and how you present the videos. Keep it up!!
Of course Hexagons ARE the Bestagons...
LoL CGP Gray ❤️
I prefer polygons
Very impressive..
oh my god, thanks for the straw trick, that's super smart
1:00...BRILLIANT !!! 😀
Awesome ideas and very amazing presentation. Cheers from Ontario! +1 sub
Thank you for sharing. I made several recipe book stands as gifts this Xmas, and everyone loved them. Maple and Walnut are exotic here in Australia - so even more impressive result! Love the channel!
GV, feel like im watching 3x3 costumes . Your very talented.
Nice work
أحسنتي الصنع الله يحفظك
The bottle opener is great! One of your best videos
Great ideas for the gifts.
BRAVO ! QUE DE BONNES IDEES..... LA LAMPE EST MAGNIFIQUE.... BONNES FETES DE NOEL ...
Very good suggestions ... well constructed videos ... but the straw to clean up the excess glue is genius!
Great video I gonna mske some these
I always look forward to your xmas gift videos. A pleasure to watch.
Yay, thank you!
Great selection of gifts 🎁 ❤❤❤
Should've put a stop block on the baguette slicer haha
The coasters are really beautiful!
Thanks for all the great ideas going to be making some next year and maybe when I have the woodshop cookout next summer
Sounds great!
The coaster and cookbook/ipad holder... love it! Looks great and you did a great job going through the process!
You are amazing and I love your shop!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!
Love your easy to follow and concise explanations. Keep up the good work.
I’m really glad I found your channel! Great ideas, skill sets and tips! Rob …FortyBelow Woodworking
Happy New Year
Great idea with the drinking straw to get rid of the still not dried glue. Didn‘t know about that trick. Many thanks😊
Cool ideas….. really like the cutting board/ recipe book holder. Brilliant. !!!!
(Havent finished the video yet), but I am definitely giving that straw trick a shot... If that works as well as it appears to have done so on camera... Well, I'll be embarrassed having never known that. 😂 Cheers!
Scroll Saw also works for cutting those small pieces
i make these. great gift. if you spin the insert 90 degrees the magnets catch the cap. I enjoy your videos.
Very creative! Watching with sound down makes guessing what things will be a fun challenge! I appreciate your ability to jig up for the various tasks!
Thanks!
Hola desde México me inspira a empezar gracias por compartir
Thank you! These are all amazing and great gift ideas. I even thought about how the cut-off corners from the light tower could be business card holders. Thanks for the inspiration!
Love your work; shop; and, tools!!! Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic work, Marie! Really beautiful pieces!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
I made the iPad stand for my wife for Christmas and she loves it! My modification was to use dowels for the supports and incorporate holders on the back so it could all be kept together when stored . Thanks for some great ideas!!
Keep up the great work.
Thanks, will do!
Tres beau!
Your workshop is amazing! 😍
What great ideas. Fantastic instruction. Wish my shop was as clean as yours!
These are all so beautiful! Thank you for sharing this 😃
Marie, votre planche à découper/lutrin pour tablette sera u succès dans notre famille. Un superbe projet pour ma petite gille de13 ans. Mille mercis et Joyeux Noël. 🎅
Good video
Love the light
I don't have a bandsaw for doing the ornaments due to price & and space, but I did pick up a used scroll saw that I make a lot of little thinner ornaments with.
Thank you for an inspirational video. I like the way you present your videos, fast enough to not waste time on monotonous stuff, yet slow enough to get a good hang of it. Thank a lot for the templates and other stuff you provided. Keep on the good work!
I agree, Thanks Marie.
Thank you. Some good ideas to play with. Especially like the tablet/book stand. Think I'll try that one and maybe add a little resin for the handle side. Keep up the fun videos.
wow! these are all so creative! I love all of these woodworking gifts. thank you!!
Gorgeous
