McLaren 675LT COLLECTION DAY and FIRST DRIVE! [Road to 675LT Episode 11]

- It's finally time! I jump in the Ferrari FF to drive up to McLaren Manchester for handover of my new 675LT; a car that's featured in videos all the way through from ordering and specification to the dynamic test in the factory, and more recently the detailing and paint preparation at Topaz Detailing.
What seems like an immensely long wait has finally come to an end as I'm able to reveal the unique MSO touches to my car, including the Cerulean Blue paintwork, Handling and Powertrain toggles in matching colour trim, the bespoke key, the satin black additional switches and bezels, carbon fibre air vents and blue stitching around the driver and passenger zones as well as matching embroidery of the 675LT logos on the headrests.
I would like to thank James at MSO, Nick at McLaren Manchester and all the Topaz team for the huge amounts of work that went into getting the car ready on time for its adventures that start today!
With plans set for the car to board a truck at McLaren Manchester for delivery to me a few days later in Sourthern Germany, it would have been wrong not to use the opportunity to take the car for a few quick miles on the local roads - of course with the running in process being of big importance it's nothing crazy, but nonetheless it got my heart racing!

Took me one month to take delivery of my Kawasaki, back in 2014, and I were already very anxious about it... Can't imagine how it is to wait almost one YEAR to have your 675LT!

Sound yes, but I'd disagree on looks. Plus the McLaren is lighter and seems more fun to drive, plus it's quicker.
So true the Mclaren 675LT looks way better and sound better than the ferrari f12. Even the Lamborghini aventador sv looks better than the ferrari f12!!!!!
I love how excited even the Mclaren representative was. Even little details like that make the process of buying a car of that status even more pleasant and exciting.

When I subscribed to your channel some years ago you had a gorgeous blue Aston Martin V8 Volante. I remember the first video of the R8 spyder in an underground garage, when you wrapped it in violet, the videos about the morgan 3 wheelers, the black 12c and the 650s last year... And you still have the same excitement on each video, and you keep sharing your amazing petrolhead's experiences with us... That's impressive to see so much passion and kindness... +Matthew Sharpe You're actually not far off from the truth. Also one of the reasons you don't need to "break in" the engine anymore. Car engine production nowadays isn't what it used to be 30 years ago.
Flávio Coimbra Yes, no doubt the engine had a decent bench test before it was even installed. Machining tolerances now are vastly superior also, plus everything is computer managed too so it makes it even harder to do anything that would damage the engine - eg my car restricts boost automatically until the ECU detects everything is up to operating temperature.
"show me how you open the engine cover...." yep we'd watched the guys at Topaz do it ;)

From all the excitement of getting your new 675LT, it makes the Ferrari seem like such a 'regular' purchase in comparison. Great content Tim as always, it has been great seeing the build up to finally getting the new McLaren!
The feeling of stepping in and sitting inside must have been amazing, a realisation of all the years of hard work that has paid off for you. I hope to share that great feeling at some point in the future.

Well shmee wanted to get a Mclaren 675LT spider which was a really great choice. The sliver rims match really great with the purple body color. Also the Mclaren 675LT spider is lighter and faster than the original.

+David Isoka-Onwordi Brand new cars always need to go through a run in process as mechanically it is all new and needs time to bed in; you'll find his is the same with literally any car.

I'm a massive Ferrari fan but I've got to say the 675LT in the colour and spec you've chosen is actually epic. It's one of the few cars that I've thought it's a shame to drive and dirty it as it looks so good !!! Quick word on the F12 , looks amazing in that colour ( Fuoco , Mugello , F1 2007 ???? ) with the gloss black wheels !!!

In my opinion the 675LT is the nicest looking supercar around. It sounds amazing too. However I never want to give up a manual gearbox.
