Jamie, watching you through these last several years as a bird trainer, I don't believe you are too direct, you are clear and kind, and that is perfect. Love how Jinx turns into a baby when he is with you, fluffy head and body, taking his foot and gently rubbing his head wanting you to see how adorable he is, too cute! Yeah, I was hoping you would adopt Lefty too, but you found him a good home, and that was the goal. Always wondered what Capri's first name was, but you only mentioned how she preferred her middle name, Sydney is adorable! Love when you and Dave answer questions, hope you continue. Thanks for letting us get to know you better, and this vlog, see you soon!
I couldn't agree more! Most people mix up honesty with rudeness. That's their problem, then. Stay as you are, Jamie. There's nothing wrong with it.
This parrot has the cutest little laugh; my Senegal has the world's most evil cackle. He doesn't do it on command, but he will do it if he sees or hears something that I usually find funny (like if I'm looking at funny pictures online, he must recognize certain meme formats because he'll laugh at those; or he knows my friend Mike often makes me laugh so he'll laugh when he hears Mike's voice). And it sounds like he's plotting to take over the world.
JInkx lightly holding his safe and softly scratching his head is the cutest thing. He looks so comfy and content
Haha my Macaw gives herself head massages too,
Jinx is just the cutest! 😍
Be more like Dave? You can fix a customer in 10 seconds and the customer will never forget, a valuable attribute with a bird in the field for the first time. You compliment each other beautifully. Very effective, and I laugh about our interactions.
The fact that all of the questions where mostly about her and not about birds
Brightens up my day listening to you guys.
I love these Q&A videos. The story of how you met Dave is too cute. It's like fate was drawing you two together. You're so relatable and I love that. Hope you had a wonderful day today, Jaime! Always such a pleasure to watch Jinxy too 🥰🥰🥰
Watching you with Jinx may be one of my favorite forms of entertainment. :)
I think you’d be good at training cats, because you already operate on the permission based training. Cats are definitely trainable, but only on their terms. I bet you’d get frustrated right out of the gate (😆), but I think you’re determined enough to push through. 😊
I think remembering and sharing your failures are key to your success as a trainer. You are very relatable.
I have a blue n gold, I have had her for over 25 years. She kept getting out of her cage and destroying things. We gave her, her own room which has a window and a viewing window in our family room. I’m 66 and can’t seem to train her again. When I take her out of her room, she screams and calls Mamma. It’s constant. She only responds to me! My husband feeds her and plays with her. I bring her out of her room at least 2 to 4 times a day. The screaming makes it unbearable. Any suggestions? No one wants o interact with her, and always say get rid of her! This upsets me so much. I just want to enjoy her again. Thank you. Bobbie Macguee
Sounds like you need to book a consultation. Their website is in the video's description box.
I feel ya so much on the interacting with people. Animals teach me new things everyday, multiple times a day! Love watching you interact with your birds while answering these questions, good laugh!❤❤❤
Wow, you are so charming, no wonder dave fell for you. And Jinx when he goes in baby macaw mode. Too cute. You are to cute together 😘❤️🇩🇰
I would love if jinx did a video, I could listen to him all day hehe
Y’all’s love story is maybe the cutest 🥹
Jinxy’s! Little! REACHES!!!
💜💜💜
He was trying so hard! 🥰
Another fun video! I love how jinx is trying to keep himself distracted for a while lol. I also didn’t know that Capri‘s first name is Sydney, what an adorable combination of names. And I too wish you could have adopted Lefty, I really thought you would because of how he got along with Capri and he seemed to do great on road trips with you. But, at the same time totally understood why you didn’t! He got a nice home because of you so that’s the most important part ❤️
Jinx is SO cute!! 🥰 🦜Even when he is not saying anything or doing much he is so cutely distracting just being himself, just his presence is...so distracting. lol 😁
And why do I feel like that Jinx just sitting there on his perch, next to Jamie, giving himself a head massage is the birb equivalent of a three year-old kid standing next to their mom and innocently picking their nose while she is trying to film a video on what _not_ to do in public?!? 😄
.
I love these entertaining videos, they make a great addition to your content. 😊
Haha my macaw does the head massages too and more than once have I seen her with a toe in her nostril mining for gold.
@@MrJdubz100 Juuust a very typical macaw thing then 😄 Looks so cute when they do that!
You could totally train a Cheetah!! Because you love them!❤️. Being a patron is awesome lol!!
I love to see the day in the life of you and your birds also the project birds
I'm a scrapbooker, too!
I love content like this! Thanks for doing what you do
I feel like you might be good at training a horse! Also I love this kind of content, it's my favourite by far! Maybe you could do a part two of answering the questions we asked on the community tab?
I super love this series :) thanks for sharing your lives with us!!!
Love these videos!!!!!
I get what you mean by the animals are your best teachers.... i was afraid of the size of horses but loved watching them i now own 2 very well behaved horses that i have trained myself using what ive learned from watching them for so long and interacting with them
What animal would Jaime train if she wasn’t training birds? Squirrels. Def squirrels. 😉
😂
Love watching these :)
Loved it!
Lefty is still my favorite of your project birds. When I saw how he immediately took to Capri, I thought for sure you guys would keep him. I was surprised when you did not. He did get a good home, though.
Never know, Marlene had a bird come back to her household they never expected!
Someone in another comment said Lefty's new owner loves him very very much, even keeps him up late because he loves being with him
I just love jinx 💕💕💕
What a fun video! ❤️❤️
Yessss!!! I love the fun "get to know you" series videos. They're hilarious and so cool. I also admire the both of you guys as professionals and how you make time to make everything work. Great job!!
More questions! Love it! Especially, Bratty Bubbs!
He had a cockatoo, enough said. 🤣🤣
I've noticed the bluntness with your clients but honestly, as long as the job is well done and wow! you're so good with birds. Also, it seems more like introversion than meanness. I really admire you and Dave, thank you for all you teach us and for making my relationship with my bird so much better.
Love to see Jinx! Bubba! He was such a good boy. Experience makes you a good trainer. I am a nurse, and though I completed all of that schooling and testing to be a nurse, it is through countless patient experiences that I have actually learned to help people. You love training and it shows in everything you do. Keep it up Jamie! You are making a difference everyday. Also, my husband and I love the idea of the yearly birthday books to Capri.
Really enjoyed this video!
Oh I saw you skate over the fact that you had a cat with the birds for years! I remember Ninja! Wonderful video. So sweet and wholesome. Love Jinx distracting you the whole time. Very on brand. Can't wait for next video!
Please do more like this ❤️❤️❤️.
Regarding what animal you could train......you have the patience for horse training imho
Would love see more of questions on live videos if you can .
You would be good training dogs or horses in my opinion. Loved all the answers to the questions.
Great video, thanks 👍
Please make more content like this!!!
Also if you were to train another animal I could TOTALLY see you doing Liberty training for horses.
What a BEAUTIFUL family Love story, captured in the pages of the books & video! Especially that one photo: of you expressing how much you love Dave, and he confirming his Love via his non-verbals:
“Ha ha! I got the girl..👍...” And then their were three...Question: did Dave pop The Question just before this photo? Thank you, Womach’s! 💕💋🥰😁💥🦜
We need a cuddle compilation of you with all the macaws and other birds! Even Rocko or whichever bird!!!
I have 25 parrots in my flock (i rescue) and would love for you guys to come visit and help me learn
Oh, you DO reach people from all over the world - regards from Germany 🇩🇪 😊
I can so relate with you about being blunt and not a people person. And the whole school thing too. Hated high-school. Didn't want to go to college. I have learning disability and wasn't confident I could.
Sounds like you guys were destined to be together. 💜
My name is Jamie too! Lol.
Pretty lovable "Bubba"-Jinxy!
As usual Bubba totally stole the show. Even just sitting pretty on that perch even before he wanted all your attention.
yoooo thats not fair Yal came to Africa and didnt say hallo! haha hope you guys had a great time.
Although I do not have a bird I absolutely love watching your videos. I am curious if you would ever do a project birds update and let us know how Morgan, Chichi, Lefty and all the others are doing.
I’m sorry you regret not adopting Lefty. I know I was surprised you didn’t adopt him for as bonded as he and Capri were.
Morning!!!
nice video
I am amazed how her birds don't mind her changing her haircolor so many times! When my SO shaves our caique goes dab s**t crazy and will not stop attacking him until his beard grows back. That is kind of the reason why I am afraid to color or cut my hair.
Have you checked into getting a visitor VISA for Japan? It will take several months if at all possible. My son tried to get one for work and it would take several months. He said at that time they weren’t allowing visitors from US.
Horses.... You would be great with horses....
I really hope my cockatiel is trainable. He is a rescue that was not tame when we got him, and I've had him for eight years, (no clue how old he is for sure, but they had him for a few years at least. His name was Gertrude then, and with another male). He bonded to my female cockatiel, so my horrible attempts at training him didn't take. If we took her out of the cage (she was tame, specially with the handfeeding and oral medications I had to give her when she was brought in to my vet clinic), he would scream until she was back in the cage. She passed away six months ago. She was also a rescue that we had for 18 years. So now Kevin is alone in his cage. He will not come out of the cage if we leave the door open, and is terrified of us. I've been working on watching your video's, I bought the kit to convert him off a seed diet, toys, clicker, etc. My boyfriend doesn't think I can train him. I told him challenge accepted. I'm working on collecting the supplies I will need for this venture. For now I'm just working on changing his diet, and using the clicker when he doesn't run due to my distance from the cage. I have to gain his trust so that I can even give him a treat.
Thanks for answering the questions. Cute video. But oh no, what happened with Lefty’s family that made you feel that not keeping him has haunted you? I thought that Daniel and his family were a perfect match for Lefty. Can we please get an update? He was such a sweet bird. Thank you again
I'm here for jinx 😂
I kiss my Caique constantly too. And she’s just like Jinx, wants attention non-stop. But oh my Gosh I cannot even tell you how much I love her. I just want to eat her up. She whistles La cucaracha, and she laughs, she’ll kiss and kiss like Jinx and put her tongue in my mouth too. (Why?-lol) They are amazing. And if you didn’t train birds, you’d have to do something else that’s incredibly intelligent. Otherwise I think you’d be bored. Like dolphins 🐬 or primates. I love the books you make for Capris too. Great idea! Take care. Give Jinx a kiss from me and Sunday!
When Jinx is biting your sweater how do you know that is not aggressive biting?
Clarity is key to understanding. No vagueness helps autistic birdparents community it's not offensive.
I would love to become a parrot trainer communicator to facilitate best relationships and engagement/interest how would I go about this in 🇬🇧 ?
Hi Jamie! I have a question. I have 2 budgies. These are my first ever birds! Even before I got them I knew you should only get one so it’s easier to tame, but the only pet store that took good care of the budgies only sold them in pairs. I can’t separate them because I only have one cage, and there is no other room I can use. How do I tame them both? Your videos are amazing!
The amount of attention my bird was demanding while I watched this rivaled Jinx’s 🤣
Hi jamie if u ever get a 20 day old little bird can u do a vid how to tame it if u can i have a little lovebird thats 20 days old and she mostly bites me but it doesn't hurt alot BTW i loved this videoo
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.
Floofiest macaw ever. xD
I too have difficulty with human interaction, I hear ya. My directness or frankness seems to be a problem for a lot of folks. Oh well, I prefer the company of animals anyway. That said, I have a question about bird health. I have many actually, and your videos regarding this have been a great help, but this one is about mites. With your birds being outdoors has this ever been an issue, and if so what did you do to eradicate them?
😍😍😍
Cute
👍
I wish that my Catalina Macaw was more like Jinx. I mean yes she says Bubba, gives herself head massages with her foot, and a few other things in common too but she randomly turns into a gremlin sometimes so it makes me a little wary of her.
If you wanna work with a major Mitchell, we have one we need help with for diet conversion. My mom bought a Skype consultation a long time ago but never used it.
Jamie, i have a question: how can i train a budgie if every time i try the other budgie always distract him and i dont know how to separate them?
Cat trainer! Training cats needs to be permission based training just like with birds since they don’t really have a desire to please you like a dog. I’ve trained my cats 2 tricks, I believe you would be able to train cats!
What is the best thing too do as my parrot hates having a bath
I know you are asking Jamie, but in the meantime try spritzing him/her with a fine mist from high above, I've seen Jamie do this with birds that aren't big fans of bathing.
How would you start target training your bird if you don’t know what to do to get them to start training
What’s Bubba’s protein bar?
I need help learning how to work with aggressive parrots.
I would love a blooper real of y'all (well...Jamie) trying to film both in general and with your birds distracting you
Have you ever tried to train an owl?
I’m 13 and live in an apartment, I’m planning on getting a sun conure but I know they’re really loud, what do you recommend? Will a je day conure be better? I love your vids
Nope they’re the same loudness.
Ok
I think Jendays are even louder than Suns?
If you live in an apartment, I wouldn't get
anything louder than a budgie or cockatiel -- or maybe a ringneck (but even that might be pushing it).
My Alexandrine lets my mate touch him more when he comes around. My mate pointed out it most likely is because my disabilities make me shake so much. I never thought that shaking would put him off so much. But at least through watching your video's he will climb on my shoulders and across my chest. I'm trying to teach him to free fly from your video's.
Do you still have lefty?

Hi! I have been struggling with my golden conure (6 months old) with feather plucking. I boarded him for about 3 days at my exotic vet and transitioned his diet from seeds to pellets cold Turkey. Now he is plucking blood feathers so I noticed if I give him seeds he stops plucking he is on his third day of seeds and pellets and has left his blood feathers alone and no plucking, I know this isn’t the right diet but when I change it he goes back to plucking. Please help, I don’t know what to do :(
Try this: Don't just switch everything suddenly. Mix it together and verrry gradually phase out the bad stuff.
Hi! I’ve been told that you need to speak to budgies with a high-pitched, soft voice. I am a tall man with a deep voice and find it strenuous to force myself to speak with a high pitched voice, but I can speak softly. Is that ok, or will it scare budgies?
Just speak normally to them. Your voice should be soft & calm, yes, but it doesn't need to be high-pitched.
Somebody gave you ridiculous advice 🙄
For some reason I got unsubscribed to you??? And a few others :(( I didn't know you uploaded and I am so sad, because I kind of get the feeling that this is happening to others.
Hey Jamie- Capri needs a sibling or two! Don't leave her alone in life as an only child! If she's asking to adopt others (even if it's her friends) she's letting you know that she wants to share her life with more family! Thank you for all of the information about birds. I think I watched almost every single video you had on You Tube and now I'm volunteering at a sanctuary!
Some couples are just one and done and that's okay.
@@Nichole7997 yes, that's okay for the couple. But the single child left when parents eventually pass away is a lonely existence.
At the same time Jamie is an only child so that’s what she’s used to as well. Only children can do fine! I am the youngest of three sisters and both my parents passed away and I am perfectly fine on my own so it’s kind of the same thing. (I was 35 when they passed). It would be awesome for them to have another kid but Capri has an awesome life and is super loved and if that’s what they want then that’s it :)
@@marjake3147 Yes, but then you have to think of the other child. If the parents don't feel ready and prepared for another child and aren't even into the idea, it wouldn't be fair for the other child to just bring it into the world because the child they're already raising and love having all 100% of their focus on wanted a sibling and for no other reason, would it?
@Marjake just cos your sibling(s) are related to you doesn’t mean they’re gonna get along or even be friends. There’s nothing wrong with being an only child and frankly it’s a bit rude to try to tell someone they should have more kids.
I have a question how do I get my husband‘s bird to like him and not me
Question:What is Ur Fav Bird
Was " Lefty" the Ringneck or the quacker, srry. I forgot which was which♥️
Lefty was the Quaker. Touchè was the ringneck.
@@tarajh thanx, now i remember cuz Touche when he talked was in a hightened state( the ringneck) and lefty your daughter helped out alot while you weren't feeling so good, I remember all of it now, really thanx so much for letting me know and for all your hard work thar benefits parrots♥️♥️♥️
cat trainer
yall were with eachother 3 months before u got engaged?! jeez lol
Do you want more kids? 😂
I have 2 parakeets that I adore. I deeply regret getting them. Birds don't belong in captivity. Even with the best food and environment they live unnatural lives and die horrible deaths. Please leave them alone.
