In the comics, Emma Frost was the SOLE survivor of the Genosha Genocide, and ended up joining the X-Men right after I wouldn't be surprised if she did just that at the end of this season or the start of the next.
Yeah...I'm calling bull. Shaw's power allows him to absorb physical and energy attacks so unless that Sentinel monster has telepathy the attack shouldn't have killed him.
@dragonsoundwave253 it allows him to surve the impact but if a rock fragement gets in his throat and he can't get it out he still dies. Emma has been in space and underwater in her Dimond form. She dosint need to breath to survive in her Dimond form just needs air to talk (could be why she coughing even). Hopefully the extra info makes it seem more legitimate. Oh also shaw can accumulate a lot of power (enought to haymaker colossus) but he needs to ramp himself up. He can't go 0 to 100 so that why he didint have enought strength from a bad position to blast the debree off him.
I find it funny how from the Captain America scene, people say it make sense how the two team never cross path each other. Yet the Avengers and other superheroes could of easily appear in the reflief effort or you think they were doing that elsewhere on Genosha?
I think there are strong tensions between mutants & humans in the aftermath of the massacre. So the Avengers, consisting of mostly humans, probably aren't welcome on Genosha at the moment.

E for Extiction and M Day were so brutal for her that Emma deny both Iron Man and Ms. Marvel' request to join their side of Civil War. In the show, she just gives her a worst version "Frost come from High Quality Breeding" line for E for Exection.

Also I believed in the actually comic that Genosha genocide adapted from (E is for Extinction), this was the first time that Emma used her diamond power (well awakening) to survived the destruction.

Emma Frost's Diamond Form is pretty much Collosus with Telephatic immunity and Emma can't use her telepathy under this form. Emma under this form don't need to eat, sleep or even feel pain. Emma can survive a Celestial blast. She tank Celestial Blast with one of her arm being cut in half.
