I honestly believe we need a minimum of 4 players in this summer. A world class 9, a world class winger. A beast of a 6 and a creative midfielder. We also need to get rid of a lot of dead wood

I think the ideal number is around 7. A replacement for Davies who is getting on in age would be good as well, someone to pressure Udogie and perhaps Porro. A fast CB who can fill in for VdV. As much as I like Solomon, he's made of biscuits and with Kulu never going to be a world class winger, I think 2 wingers are needed, one on each side and that includes Werner who would only be suitable if he accepted lower wages and spent extra time in training working on his finishing with Son.

Yea I was thinking min 6 myself, but 4 would be a decent start. We are 8 or 9 players away from being competitive at the top of the table.
Anyone who buys a season ticket before being ensured by an official club statement that Anthony Martial being linked is nothing but media mischief deserves, all they get. I guess if our fanbase continues to show no more than mild indifference to more cheap deadwood being stored at the club, the club will feel empowered in continuing to collect it.
After seeing Kane and dyer into the champions league semis proves the mentality at Tottenham is a massive worrying issue

Very worrying but as Spurs fans we should not be surprised, Martial on a free plus young players that are not proven. That should remind everyone of the last 23 years. We will never challenge on top trophies with these owners.

Martial can join the list of famous flops like Soldado and Janssen. At least it shows consistency with Daniel Levy’s bad decisions and the general standard of player we bring in and will balance the squad, unlikely to show up the shortcomings of the likes of Richarlison and Werner.
But Sean We need a Defensive Midfielder rather than an ATTACKING midfielder 😮
It's ok to sign another midfielder but our priority Must be a monster Ball winning midfielder who can close down the wide open spaces in the midfield 😮

His contract is running down, so I suspect these rumours are coming from his agent.
Even on a free his wages would be around 250k, which means that it's pretty much dead in the water.

Just shows it has a lot to do with the culture at a club more than individual players capability. I never did feel our players were as bad as we like to make out. Too many different players season after season suddenly displaying traits I've associated with the club for decades, indicating something much more endemic in the club culture than individual lack of ability.

Totally agree Sean. We have to be realistic and 5th place and a Europa spot is progress compared to what we all thought would happen when Harry Kane left. Top four finish next season, a good run in the FA Cup and at least the Europa semi finals will see me starting to truly believe we are headed in the right direction.

I have said it time and time Again Nothing will Ever change With Levy There why does the fan base think it’s going to change with Ange hear? Levy loves the control of the club Simple 😟
The difficulty is not what would be great for us as supports but what Ange actually wants . I don't recollect Ange ever bringing in an expensive player in the past . So I don't expect we will be getting in an high value players but players who fit Ange's ideals .
Think that their are a few players in the current squad who will be moved on in the summer and could be the odd surprising departure .
Ange's System requires the correct type of player in every position, that we are light on, I think a small adjustment IE in certain games of which we have 4 of them arriving at out table before the season ends, we play 5yards deeper, playing exactly the same way every game regardless, is offering our opponents the opportunity to get in behind and punish us, which is exactly what's happening, I hope its not Naivety on Ange's part, he has to realise, we've been found out, the PL knows how to play and beat the system.
Sevilla's En-Nesyri seems like a good striker to target.
This just hit air.Last year recruitment was good.Spurs need to be looking at Bundasleague which has some top quality players like Frimpong & Adli at Leyerkausen.We need to upgrade on quality of new signings not be looking a rubbish😮
On the Eric Dyer comments , when you play for a club that has a winning mentality/pedigree, you tend to stand taller. I'm not surprised to see Eric playing like this. The mentality at Spurs is rotten to the core. Ange has a big job on his hands. Maybe it's too big for him.

Given what we have seen in cup competition's from Ange this season, I don't think he is at all interested in Europe. Full stop.
If he is not adaptable or smart enough which he doesn't seem to be, then we are looking for yet another lean period.
We don't just need a manager with a good track record we need one with common-sense, which I hear a lot of on your Advocate Show every week, and for my money Ange just doesn't cut it.

Martial 28 is not the kind of age I believe Postie will be looking at, free maybe Levy likes but not the kind of wages he would want, but Postie has said he takes a lot of stock in players character and personality and judging from things said from the United camp over the years I can't see Postie on board with him
As for DM I still think we have a dedicated DM we then lack one CM. Any DM we add needs to be a very complete player with great defensive reading, tackling and blocking plus quality and range of passing and good shielding to hold and protect the ball when pressed. For all that unless we change the full back game away from this attacking inverted style one CDM isn't going to find it easy to cover across the pitch and realistically we need two CDM's with very complete ability and good strength and engine
I tend to think Ederson is one player we are really looking at trying for but I would be very happy if we would also go for Hayden Hackney who looks to have a very good combination of defensive and attacking.passing skills and who I believe would compliment the role. With the new lad Bergval and with Sarr we would have options to add a bit more central balance and we could have far better choice of balance in the squad
As for Lo Celso there is a lot of talk about Barca interest too and whilst they have their financial issues we have been looking at Pablo Torre, another decent mid prospect currently on loan at Girona but I could see some sort of swap between us and Barca and I imagine Lo Celso would be more than happy moving to Barca

Is the GiO thing a chicken and egg situation? we don’t play him enough and give him the respect that he deserves when he is fit so he feels why am I here. If we do give him a chance like we did in the games against Villa city and Bournemouth And he does grab the opportunity even if for 60-70 minutes then who knows he might stay and we get an additional season out of him, especially as we going to Europe where he will thrive

Hi, I just wanted to make this comment regarding one of your guest on the podcast when discussing Ange and him being or not being arrogant when it comes to having a plan B and being adaptable? Then the comment was made about top managers I.e. Pep, the best manager in my opinion and as to whether he would not make that tweaks when needed? I wanted to remind people that Pep lost one champions league final and one semi final of recent past years because he did not make those tweaks when needed. Top managers I think all have some arrogance and a style about themselves and their belief on how their football must be played . Do you not think so?

The game is about glory - so someone once said :) That being the case, I would rather finish 5th than 4th. Yes the money for coming 4th is a lot more, but we've got a better chance of winning the Europa League than the Champions League.
Why the surprise when Levy has the final say on everything
The recruitment for me is still wank , got rid of Lamela who was useful when he did play for us and replaced him with a player that had more loans than a bank. Spending well over a hundred for Richarlison and Brendan Johnson combined when you can get just as good players for cheaper the price in the championship.
Other teams’ failures on the cheap and prospects who might (but rarely) make a profit. Why would we expect anything different? This is Levy’s Tottenham. 🙄
I just don't get the notion that we aren't worthy for the CL and we should settle for the Europa League when 4th is still possible. If we finish 4th then by definition we are good enough to play in that competition. I think Ange has been gaslighting the fans about top 4 not being a target to cover up our possible failure to finish 4th after such a strong start and many opportunities throughout the season to push on and to get it. It appears that alot of fans seem to want to settle for 2nd best and try wrap it up as a bit of realism. No doubt some of those fans will be moaning about playing Thursdays and Sundays next season and all the extra games in Europe against teams no one has heard of. And lest we forget what did Bill Nick say about aiming high?

Maddison is in cr*p form. Whatever Lo Celso's mood might be, Ange should play him to win matches for us until he leaves. As for Martial, we were linked with a permanent deal for Clement Lenglet for MONTHS before the January window, and many of us were going into meltdown at the very idea. It was almost certainly a story generated by Barca and Lenglet's agent, to try and shift him out. I'm betting that it's the same with Martial, and hope that' I'll win that one!
