I always liked that delivery honestly and never knew it was a mistake. Made it feel real, plus I don’t think I’ve ever heard a line delivered as such as games with VO wasn’t as commonplace in 2001 as it is now. Usually the first actor’s line would get deliberately cut off and then the second actors line plays, so this legit cutoff made it very memorable.

Andre made a mistake.
Cream was introduced in Sonic Advance 2, not Sonic Advance.
Toon Link made a grammaticel mistake, instead of saying "not in Sonic Advanced" he said "not Sonic Advanced"
Also, Knuckle's song "Unknown from M.E." claims "Unlike Sonic, I don't chuckle" and yet Knuckles did during his antagonizing of Sonic in "Sonic 3 and Knuckles"
While Sonic was never chuckling during first three games... HOW IRONIC

Actually, there's a bigger error in the song. It says "the new porcupine on the block". Echidnas aren't porcupines.

Fun fact: The code for making Sonic's gauge deplete when using Gems is fully in the game and works perfectly....except the variable they're using for the gauge is named incorrectly. A spelling error messed up the entire system

I always thought Sonic was saying:
"I'll use you...! Chaos Control!"
"You" in this case referring to the Fake Chaos Emerald he used to escape his space pod.
I was always able to hear Shadow's line entirely but I didn't know that Sonic's line was partially cut. The line still makes sense in English regardless.
To be honest I think "I use your, Chaos Control!" Sounds much better
extra bonus fact: eggman’s name is misspelled as “Eggmann” on the back of sonic adventure 2’s GameCube case (at least it is on mine lol)
I think the accepted canon is that "Ivo Robotnik" is Eggman's real name, while "Eggman" is just a nickname he adopted from Sonic
This will forever be the true canon
Sonic Adventure is the game that canonized the "Robotnik" name in Japan. I think the "Look Tails, a giant talking egg!" scene is similar to the English version. And in Sonic Adventure 2 in the cutscene where Eggman demonstrates Space Colony ARK firing a laser at the moon, the text "ROBOTNIK EMPIRE" can be seen scrolling in the background of his announcement on TV. And in the same game, Eggman's grandfather Gerald Robotnik is an important character in the backstory.
Sonic Frontiers apparently confirmed it. With Robotnik adding that he isn't gonna do that with "Baldy McNosehair" because he does have limits.
Robotnik Winter Zone was already a thing back then.

I like to think that in Sonic Heroes "Eggman" says things like "Don't get too excited boys!" because it's not actually the real Eggman.
1:06 the manual is actually accurate there, but due to the rushed production of the game, the gauge was never coded to deplete.
Modders actually recently found that the code for the gauge to deplete is in the game, it just doesn’t work due to a typo in the code.
So it was the manual, since it's supposed to describe the playable game and not developer intentions.
@@insaincaldo another comment basically showed that it's the same case as with the alien: colonial marines AI bug at launch, where a typo broke everything, but SEGA ended up not patching it as far as I know.
@@thundrakion Yah, they have had problems with unplayable releases not getting fixed.
@@insaincaldo Oh, both 06 and Aliens CM are playable, just very buggy. There were a lot of actually unplayable games in video game history, some of them are even sold on Steam right now, so please don't mix up the two.
One little mistake I remember noticing was in Sonic the Fighters. Aside from the fact that there's suddenly eight emeralds instead of seven (the change was made because there are eight playable characters and the story is that each character is protecting one and you have to fight them all to get the emeralds), there's a part in the intro where it's showing off the Death Egg II and the text reads "the revenge of Dr Robotonic".
There are nine technically. The gem in chaos chest is an emerald and they all were made from pieces of the master emerald so 9.

I don’t think the manual “mistakes” for Sonic ‘06 really count as such, they’re more so just elements that didn’t in into the final product due to how rushed the development was. I guess the real mistake there was just leaving them there lol
To be fair to the manual, Sonic 06 is an unfinished game. The released version isn't even the final build of 06, it's an earlier build, that they had to use, as the one they had was too buggy. So, the manual is most likely referencing things that were supposed to be in the game, but were cut too meet Sega's deadline.
The Demo for 06 uses the final build, that's why it's better than the actual game. xD

Weirdly enough, though the SEGA CD manual calls her Sally, the PC version correctly names her Amy. Since this is the version of the game that I played as a kid, I always knew her name, long before Sonic Adventure made her a mainstay.

Most Sonic fans know what they want for him, the problem is that they are constantly at war with eachother for differing opinions. The real mistake was allowing the Sonic Fanbase to become this divided by constantly betraying the long term fans. Pontac & Graff never should have been hired to begin with as they knew nothing of the series & flanderized the characters for the entire 2010s decade making Sonic the joke of the gaming industry. Adventure Fans & fans of the 2000s games know the series needs to take itself seriously & actually feel like a Shonen series.

There was also a glitch in Sonic 1 that happened before the game even starts. The text ‘press start button’ or something like that is supposed to appear under the title card, but due to some kind of loading error, it never does unless you input a code to unlock one of the secret screens.
I like that Sonic '06's instruction manuel is cited as making the mistakes when really all of those things were indeed supposed to cause the meter to drain. That one's on the game itself for just forgetting to do that except with Silver.

Also, with all the Sonic 1 mistakes you pointed out, there was a big one you never pointed it: Sonic's spring jump sprite is lacking the white straps on his shoes.
I think the reason that the box art and game manual for 06 is wrong is because the game wasn't finished while the box and manual was based on what the finished game was supposed to be.
my favorite localization error is "sonic has been tortured for months"
One of the biggest mistakes is during the Sonic Adventure 2 Japanese dub the line for Maria is “Adios Shadow the Hedgehog” which Sonic later repeats at the end of the game. This line makes sense considering Maria is a Spanish character.
In the English dub they double translated this line stupidly so now the characters say “Sayonara Shadow the Hedgehog”

I honestly like the line "The porcupine on the block with the buff chest" because while it is technically inaccurate it feels like sort of slang when in the context of the song. Like he's referring to himself and Sonic and porcupines. It's weird I know but it just sound cool imo.

One major mistake no one has mentioned is that in Sonic Boom there are several lines of code that allow Sonic Boom to exist. Massive mistake.

It’s funny when you realise that none of those mistakes mentioned in the video for Sonic 06 were actually mistakes, it has been confirmed at this point that Sega released an early build of the game as the final product than what was shown in the trailers. The shield power up and depleting gauge were a part of that later build which is why it was in the manual at all.

also the actual mistake with the action gauge in Sonic '06 is in the game's LUA code, with the wrong name used for the action gauge, making the game try to update something that simply does not exist, leaving the actual action gauge untouched.

While I'm pretty sure it was mentioned in an earlier episode (Glitches in Sonic Games), there's a glitch in Sonic 1 that prevents 'Press Start' from being displayed on the Title Screen. Sega aren't exactly known for their flawless quality.
I really thought Sonic was just supposed to say "I'll use your chaos control!". Makes more sense than "I'll use your technique!".

*in the East, Dr. Robotnik was known as Dr. Eggman. Fixed that for you, since Dr. Robotnik is LITERALLY part of the origin of Sonic, since Sonic was made when Dr. Kintobor caused a lab explosion which turned him evil, and turned Sonic from brown to blue.

It was the opposite and that makes it worse. It was a deliberate con. Most cutscenes are just false advertising for trailers. The beginings of levels were cut out of gameplay previews to hide their small scale. Etc.

Knuckles wasn't even meant to go to Flying Battery until the delay forcing it into & Knuckles, which is why it is the only stage that Knuckles fights the real Robotnik rather than the robot version of him.
