Magneto has to be one of the best comic book characters ever created. From his power to his actions and decisions to his lines, the guy is a boss at his apex. X-men 97 gave us yet another reason why he is so crucial and such a dope character
If it isnt Dr. Doom, Magneto is easily the best Marvel villain. He definitely gives guys like the Joker a run at it for being the best.

7:30 This is absolutely nuts because we cannot tell where an electron will be at any time, but we can set up switches to allow them to go to certain places. This means that he knows where the switches are and just shut them off before an electron passed and nobody knows where an electron is. Even if we did know where the electron was. We wouldn't know how fast it's moving.
Alternatively, he just bypasses the whole issue of needing to know where they are, by FORCING them to be where he needs them to be.

I'm pretty sure electrons have mass and therefore can not move faster than light. Light being made of massless bosons known as photons. Photons are the force carrying particles for mesons such as electrons but also all charged particles. They are the excitations of the electromagnetic field.
Essentially, that is. I'm sure I got some of that wrong as well because of quarks or something. These quantum particle descriptions are just abstractions to try and understand something we have very little sensory experience to fully comprehend. We only have our tools of observation equipment, conceptual models, and mathematical models. That said, this is a superpower fiction. Suspension of disbelief and whatnot.
Tl;dr

100% prefer magneto has a hero/antihero, villain magneto is cool and all but having him actually become short of a middle ground makes him the perfect leader for mutants. He not going to kill all of humanity, but if any country invades and attacks he will declare war and defend his land.
He understands you need to give and take, not every country is on board with genocide mutants, so if they trade and respect them, cool, if they attack his country he is ready to go to war. That how you rule a country, politics is not easy but he knows how things need to work.

Absolutely everything has a magnetic bond. I long for the day a writer employs this and shows what Magneto is truly capable of.
It's happened before. That said, his power extends beyond just magnetism. He rules the entire electromagnetic spectrum. He can create and control any form of energy he so wishes, even something as deadly as gamma radiation.

Just a simple magnetic disruption can cause an ELE. The earth's magnetic field keeps a lot of things in check from weather to volcanic activity and even protection from the sun itself. If he needed to, Magneto could fk up everything and everyone very easily.
He has limited power. But as long as he doesn't exceed those limits, he can do pretty much anything, though I think he's forgotten how to do a lot of it, given that he rarely controls things other than metals nowadays, and hasn't for quite some time. But yes, he's OP.

Strange all day. Magneto(from the X-Men apocalypse film)biggest weakness is his traumatic past, rage and narcissism. Dr. Strange without the time stone is still Sorcerer Supreme...mastery over illusions, dimensional access, access to demons, the crimson bands of cytorak, ECT. Magneto is done.🫡

@@kingol4801 I'm just saying, I interpreted OP as saying that magneto's powers can be used at the speed of light. Whereas, actually I think the comic is proposing that they can work *faster* than the speed of light. Which is, I would say, a surprisingly huge distinction.
@@superguy183828 His powers can work instantly, meaning his creation/manipulation of magnetic fields occurs instantly rather than having to travel away from him. But once created, his magnetic fields can only affect stuff as fast as physics allows - which is fast enough to stop an electric signal from being sent, if he tries hard enough. Though honestly, he could probably just intercept those electrical signals if he really wanted to, though there might be countermeasures in place to deal with that.
What do I think? Anything Magneto is conceptual gold. Ty for these!

I'm gonna have to say magnetos story is probably the best of all comics period for some reason I have always resonated with his character
Any physics majors out there able to do a back of the envelope calculation on the explosive force in Tons of TNT that would have been generated by that quickly crushing those dudes.. Like, I remember the sub being something like 30 Tons TNT equivalent, so I am betting that with the volume of those bodies there would be more than enough energy to turn Magneto into something wet.. Also, there would not be wetness, so much as steam perhaps coming off of the metal which should maybe be glowing and perhaps liquid with the force of the implosion, assuming all the atoms were held in place against the explosion. I mean very cool move tho, lol

Pardon my ignorance but I've always felt Magento's powers haven't been fully explored. If he controls the electromagnetic spectrum by default he can control electrons. If he controls electrons his power is far beyond what I've seen. (Maybe this was addressed and I'm sounding foolish)
Oh, his powers were fully explored in the early comics, but then the writers forgot that he could do things other than manipulate metals, and so he stopped doing it. Rather like how Xavier used to have telekinesis, but he never used it, so everyone forgot he had it.
And technically, he can't control the electromagnetic spectrum (at least not directly), just magnetic fields - which can create electric fields and interact with charged particles, such as electrons and atomic nuclei.
Magneto with staffs makes me want to see him apply some martial art to the magnetic mix. If he was only able to tap a bit of his powers due to strain but had to learn to fight a bit better with it that would be fun.
