i got hugely into dennis leary and no cure for cancer because it came out when i was a senior in high school until i found bill hicks in college and it was so blatant he stole his act. i really dived deeply into bill in my college years and think he is one of the goats of comedy
Bill is always hard for me to follow. I know these are great jokes and I know this is funny but I'm never laughing. I'm literally down to his delivery doesn't work for me.

Like someone else commented, the lines were funny but I don't remember laughing much. Even as unsettling as so many of George Carlin's observations were, there were still laughs there. I've saved the most controversial statement for last: Maybe Denis Leary did rip off Bill Hick's material but he made it funnier and although his style was of an unhinged ranter, the audience knew they weren't being berated personally.
