- The ending scenes from the 1937 film Heidi, where Fraulein Rottenmeier tries to sell Heidi to gypsies. Her grandfather comes to rescue her, and there is a chase scene with the German police. The police almost decide to throw the grandfather in jail for child abduction, but there's a happy ending.
Starring Shirley Temple as Heidi, Jean Hersholt as Adolf Kramer (her grandfather), Mary Nash as Fraulein Rottenmeier (the villain), Sig Ruman as the Police Captain, Arthur Treacher as Andrews the butler, Marcia Mae Jones as Klara Sesemann, Sidney Backmer as Herr Sesemann, Delmar Watson as Peter, Helen Westley as Blind Anna (Peter's grandmother), Pauline Moore as Elsa Shultz and Thomas Beck as Pastor Schultz. - Zábava
0.31-0.32 was too funny 😂 he threw her into the snow like a rag doll
Tionne Carson He tossed her into the snow like the piece of garbage she was.
😄😄😄
When I saw this movie as a kid, it always looked to me as if he had put her in timeout! 🤣
She deserved it. I hate people like her.
I love it how Heidi transformed her unsociable grandfather into a loving person.
When I saw this movie for the first time I did not like the grandfather at all. But after seeing him turn into a loving person made me feel happy and great inside!
@@chrismobiliophotography5743he was not a really bad man in the beginning. he wasn just really sad
amin sadeghpour yeah I know that. He probably was just really lonely and alone
@@chrismobiliophotography5743 do you remember the story told blind Anna told the pastor.
it seems The grandfather's deceased son was Heidi's father. when he wanted to marry Heidi's mother the grandfather disliked the girl and forbade the marriage. when the son married Heidi's mother anyway the grandfather told his son not to come home until he had given her up. the people of the village sided with the son and the grandfather cursed them and went and built himself a hut at the end of the mountain.
I think the grandfather felt guilty inside for not making peace with his son before the son died.
there is another really good Shirley Temple movie that deals with the little granddaughter transforming Her gruff grandfather. it is called the little colonel.
it takes place just after the civil war. a southern colonel disownes his daughter for marrying a northerner and he vowes never to speak to her again.
several years later the daughter returns home with her own little girl played by Shirley Temple. she helps her grandfather and her mother reconcile.
Every time Heidi cries, "Grandfather! Grandfather!" a cherub in heaven cries a golden tear. But Uncle Louie just takes another swig off his jug of rotgut.
Now, I want to watch the full film
You should all her flims are beautiful, you won't regret it
Napínavý film
Good thing that there is always a happy ending!
When I was younger this is only Shirley Temple movie I had ever watched and had but now I have more Shirley Temple movies and have watched a lot of other Shirley Temple movies 👧🏼📼👐🏻👆🏻🤷🏼♀️📼📼📼📼
May God make every little girl and boy happy...God bless us everyone.
Amen 🙏❤️
At least, it ended happily.
Holy god I forgot this ending was so intense. I don’t think I’ve seen a Shirley temple movie in years
One of the reasons for the grandfather going to jail was true that he hijacked that guy's sleigh.
Beautiful.
The butler milking the goat was the constable in Mary Poppins!
Yep! Arthur Treacher
My Favorite is The Little Princess. Towards the Ending when she finds her Father and the Queen acknowledges her.
shame, i would like to watch shirley temple, Heidi all the way through , real actress, through and through. xxxxx
This movie was the best out of my child hood.
imthewatcher1000 how old are u
Mine too. Im 31 now
I'm 65. I love that old hymn she sings in church: "Holy God We Praise Thy Name".
Couldn’t those officers hear her saying grandfather take me home. The woman isn’t always innocent
This is legit an amazing movie. I sit here a 40 year old man but the movie was legit.
I always thought that now that the grandfather was a changed man eventually he and Heidi moved to the Village so Heidi could go to school and be around people.
That's what they do in the novel, at least during the winter.
Grandmother: What is it, the child wants?
The Queen?!!!!
Aș putea să-l vad să-l revăd 😘😘😘nu mă mai satur de el superb film 😘😘😘😘😘
EVIL ALWAYS ENDS UP IN THE DUMPS.

HAPPY ENDING 🥰😍😘
Sucks to be Frauline.
Why didn’t the police believe Heidi??
At least Heidi's aunt and RottenMeir were not as hated and unlikeable in the anime series as they are in "Heidi's Song" and this version. But I do not mind some of the story changes in this as long as Heidi still gets her happy ending with grandfather in the mountains to live there forever.
I don’t care for either of them. They can rot in hell for all I care.
Imagine getting called Rottenmeier. Probably why she acts the way she does, which makes her even more rotten.
Great beautiful movie love it
merci pour cet extrait en couleur
Loved her in , .heidi, also!!
Hermoso filme. Me encanta 💖
I don’t hate Fräulein Rottenmeier. I just don’t like her because of the way she treated Heidi in the movie. Also, the sleigh chase scene was my favorite part of the movie.
Mine too! This chase scene was nearly as good as the one with Curella Devil chasing the puppies in 101 Dalmatians (1961).
The actress who play Fraulein Rottenmeier was all so the head mistress in The little Princess and the butler was her brother in that movie also.
@@pauline7359 yes I know. Also the actress that played Clara was in The Little Princess as well. She was one of the students. I’ve always felt like it was a reunion for those four to be together again.
What happened to Fraulein Rottenmeier? Did she go to Jail? They never show what happened to her. My Mother loves this Movie and she has always wondered what happened to her.
No doubt she went to Prison with the help of Herr Sessemann. But you really hate to think what the Prisons of Frankfurt Germany were like in 1881.
I always wondered why they didn’t show what had happened to Fraulein Rottenmeier. I think she might’ve been arrested in the end for kip napping. She certainly was a villain in this film.
Herr Sessemen fired her.
@Mike Marley Aunt Deedee was like the Witch of the East and Fraulein Rottenmier was more ruthless and cruel like the Witch of the West!
@@edwardhourihan424 He had already dismissed her when she broke Heidi's snowstorm.
GCShirleyDoug, would you be so kind as to give me permission to use the segment from this video (5:20 - 5:28) in short commemorative educational video document (= not for commercial use)? Thank you in advance for your reply.
Saya walau hp boleh hutang menjelang senja bisa nonton film yg suka ini.Alhamdulillah boleh hutang bisa nonton film Sherly Tempel.❤️😍
0:31-0:32. Abusing this scene.
I'm reading the book right now :>
Anyone notice at 3:58 were she had a slight movement as she spoke??
What was it exactly?
Full movie 1939 History Hollywood intrvew review Tcm oascr awesome awards years made mazes magic
Did this acturaly happen in the book?
This actually happened
No. The kidnapping was only the movie
In the book they send Heidi back home when she starts sleep walking because she's so homesick. The grandfather never comes to Frankfurt. No chase, no jail.
Elle pleure cette fille et dispute avec rottenmeier
love it
So they hung that old bat, right?
So what ever happened to that lady? Did she get arrested?
Yes!!
@@alexandrashelton5079 good
I think Fraulein Rottenmeier did get arrested in the end. She would not have gotten away with kip napping and nearly sending Heidi to the gypsies.
She was sold to the Gypsies!
Worse than that. She was put into the stocks in the town square. For a week people threw old cabbage and rotten eggs at her. She was not allowed to take a bath or comb her hair. When she was released she smelled so bad that everyone yelled at her. She went nuts and jumped off the mountain. Into an abyss.

What on earth? This doesn't have much of the actual storyline in it .... I think the 1993 version is by far the best.
THANK YOU. I love Shirley, and love her films themselves and what they did back then, but heavens, this and her version of a Little Princess were NOT faithful to their sources at all. The 1993 one, while imperfect, at least follows the events of the of the book more faithfully than this...of course I'm biased to 1993 as that was my intro to the story, but geezzz this one didn't follow much of the book at all.
I disagree. The 1993 version of Heidi was beyond boring and had one too many serious scenes. There was no chase scene and the grandfather in this film was a grumpy old jerk.
@@jenniferhiemstra5228 I disagree that Heidi in 1993 was rather dull and boring. But I do agree that the 1995 version of A Little Princess is way better than The Little Princess with Shirley Temple.
