She is always happy and did not feel burden when act. She enjoyed her time in movie, effortless. That"s why she became a great woman also. Some child star gone to wrong direction because they lost their childhood time but she did not, her movie is her playground for her. Great talented star!

Beginning of a legendary career... this was her only part in the movie and she absolutely stole it. She was signed to a contract literally hours after doing this scene.
This 1934 film is best known for providing the first big breakthrough role for the legendary Shirley Temple. A little known bit player before the film, by the end of the year, she appeared in 10 movies, including 4 starring roles in major feature-length films.
She did 3 movies with James Dunn. Two in which he played her father and in one "Bright eyes" he played her Godfather and her characte'rs name was always Shirley

You can really see how this film launched Shirley where her previous ones had not. This was the first to really show off her talent and showcase it. In the earliest scenes she could sort of just be another "cute kid" on the screen, but when she comes out and sings and dances, it must have just blown audiences away! We know ST so we expect it, but she was a total surprise. People came back to see this otherwise mediocre film JUST to see Shirley in that scene. :)
