Snooze through bright mornings and keep cool on hotter days with the clever Instant Up 4P Lighted Northstar Dark Room tent from Coleman.
This tent features an easy pitch frame, a fly that blocks out 95% of light and reduces the heat in your tent by up to 5°, has ventilation and shade options, plus integrated interior LED lights - making it super user friendly.
In this video, the Snowys crew headed down to the Brownhill Creek Tourist Park to give you a tour of the Coleman Instant Up 4P Lighted Northstar Darkroom Tent. Our gear expert Ben starts off with the fabrics and materials, the exterior features, circle ventilation system, the three different window configurations, and the set up options for the awning and vestibule.
He then heads inside the tent to show you the interior features, and pops XL single and queen airbeds inside to demonstrate how to use the space. Finally, Ben zips up the tent to show you how effective the Dark Room coating is, and switches on the interior LED lighting - so check it out above for more.

Very concise and clear for those of us who are not up to speed with tents this guy from snowys saves a lot of frustration in set up and pack up and features brilliant job

If Only using Inner tent , Can waterproof?
No, it won't be waterproof without the flysheet, Jason. You may withstand a light shower but not for any extended time. ~ Ben

I have a goal zero sherpa 100pd solar rechargeable battery which works well with the LED’s, rather than the 4 D cell battery holder. There is even a perfectly sized pocket on the tent wall near the switch to hold the goal zero battery.
I reckon portable power packs are a much better option that D-cell batteries, saves on weight and waste. ~ Ben

Thanks for the introduction to the tent. The low level ventilation looks like they are designed to let in swarms of mosquitoes, or a tiger snake! Strange the company didn't include mesh fly wire like the door, or did I miss seeing that aspect?
There is mesh on these vents, I214laus, so you can open them without risk of insects invading your tent. ~ Ben

Where to buy these battery packs for the lighting?
You can either use standard D-cell batteries, Anthony, or regular USB powerbanks will also suffice. ~ Ben
Hi, do the bottom vents have insect mesh?
Yes, they do, it's the same as the mesh used in the doors and windows. ~ Ben

After the first few goes and you've got the set up down pat, it would probably take you no more than 5-10mins.

My dad just bought it this tent, and I set it up with him once before I took it camping with my mates, and was easy as to set up, definitely only took like 5-10 minutes like Coleman claims.
