I am using the 6 person Sundome and I love it! This tent has been through a few light to moderate showers, and 2 thunderstorms with wind and downpours. Absolutely No Leaks! And that's just this month in S. Carolina. However, some minute drops will leak in from opening the front door. I Scotch Guarded and seam sealed it as soon as I set it up for extra protection. My queen air mattress fits inside with room to spare. Really glad I bought this tent!

I've had my coleman 6 person sundome since 2015 and use it about 5-6 times per year camping roughly 15-20 total days per year and so far I have not had any major leaks. I spray silicone spray on it once every year and that seems to "maintain" it. I always put a tarp under it to protect the floor. The only two things that I have had to fix are the sleeves that get torn easily, I just use tent repair fabric tape and that works well. One of the poles elastic broke and I bought a 4 dollar repair kit at walmart last year and was able to fix it. Same poles rain fly etc. since 2015.... I love this tent. Sorry you got a bad one!

I have the four person version and have used it for three trips for a total of eight days. The tent is easy to set up and seemed of quite good quality. Our last two day trip had severe nighttime thunderstorms and very, very heavy sustained rain. We did have some very light water intrusion at the two corners on the downslope side. The site location though high and level did puddle slightly under the tent on the ground fly. I threw a small micro-fiber cloth into each corner and that was it. Considering the conditions this was a non-issue. I’d highly recommend this tent for occasional use. I also use a rechargeable fan which really keeps any condensation to a minimum. The four-person is very roomy for two people and some gear. There were two burns/melted spots from embers from our campfire which was located pretty far away. It just reinforced that care should be taken any time you have a campfire.

I have both the 4p and 6p of the Coleman Sundome. These are awesome tents for the price, and hold up great in bad weather. I'm not sure what happened with yours, but I have experienced this first hand in one of the worst thunderstorms of the season a couple of years ago. I had both the 4p and the 6p set up for myself and a friend, and both of them went through the storm with no leaks, and held up great in the high winds. These are great car camping family tents, and for me... tested in the weather to my satisfaction.

I've had this tent for 8 or so years, and been very happy with it. I always lay a tarp down on the ground before I put it up, and haven't had any leaks yet. Here's hoping it holds up this weekend! 😂

I like my Coleman Carlsbad 6p darkroom tent. The screen area mitigates the leaking door problem, and the darkroom rainfly covers the entirety of the living space.
My only repair so far is the back screen panel, it tore after it's 10th or so time being used

In a previous video you mentioned how generators are annoying. Very valid point. What would you recommend to use for medical devices while camping? I have tried many different solar generators. I believe they mostly work for almost all c-pap machines And charging most oxygen machines. I haven't found one that will charge an electric wheelchair though. Good hack to mention is one of the shower stalls. That's pop-up also works well to put over your wheelchair. When charging from your vehicle on one of the larger solar generators. It allows you to open the back window or store in the back of the truck. It's very hard to find a tent That you can roll a wheelchair into that is also rainproof. Zempire is decent but very expensive and heavy. I value your opinion because it hasn't been paid for. It's few and far between on CZcams. I may have mobility issues but there's not much I can't do with a Mt board and my 160lbs service dog but his nails are a concern with more affordable tents. Some of your top picks and tips have truly worked great

Good review - great value tent, pretty easy to setup, i have about 60 days use in mine, no leaks. The "sleeves" are getting shredded but still functional as of now, and i upgraded the stakes. probably only good for another 5 or 6 trips.

Hard to find a tent with the zip-open flaps inside the mesh in both front and back. It's a nice feature that allows easy ventilation adjustment from time to time at night as the temperature changes.

Its a tent and not a cabin. Better setup than old fabric tents that we used to use back in the day. Those things were heavy and weren't all that great without tarping and circus acts to make them reliable.

I’d like the video however… I really wish you would’ve taken more time and demonstrated this set up you spent a lot of time talking about the pros and cons but not enough time about the actual step-by-step set up by showing us those steps versus talking about them with the filming/video at fast speed. Thank you for the video.

For the price these are great tents that punch above that price point. Caution, but from known source (like Amazon) not Walmart as the specs are different. A true version has the lantern insignia. Walmart version cheaper materials leading to a bad rap.

Have seen tests on much higher priced tents that leaked, yes, no leaks would be great but difference between minor leak and becoming a swimming pool. Many users of sundomes have had no leaks, including me.

@@littlecampfires I can relate, I have 11 tents. I’m going to downsize, for what is worth, some are for 50 mile winds (Baja) some desert and some mountains. Lately I’ve been diagnosed with osteoarthritis so I got a Gazelle and another tall fast pitch one since is going to get painful to crouch into my smaller ones which I actually prefer. I also have a very small cheap tepee mostly for storage of things like hatchet etc out of site and wood if it rains, not food since I camp in bear territory. Hahaha, I need therapy.

    • @littlecampfires

Honestly, I usually don’t do it, but it can be helpful depending on the specific tent you buy and depending on the type of weather you go out in.

@littlecampfires thank you for the reply. I ended up purchasing this tent after watching your video and got to use it a few days ago. Of course the weather provided a light overnight shower. The tent leaked a little by the door, but we survived. 😀 thanks again
