Saying that males prefer his blues and girls prefer his acoustic stuff is a ridiculous claim to make. Stop This Train and Vultures are probably my two favourite John Mayer songs. They're both very different from each-other. But I can appreciate both. It doesn't matter what gender you are, you can still appreciate amazing music.

John Mayer is such a huge inspiration for me not only to learn how to play the guitar. Fantastic musician, I love all his albums
There you go! He started off like that. This is over a decade later. Have you heard some of the acoustic stuff on the last two albums? Speak For Me, Whiskey Whiskey Whiskey, Born and Raised, If I Ever Get Around To Living, Badge and Gun, On the Way Home. They're hardly aimed at women. He's evolved. I think he'd easily be able to pull of an acoustic version of Wildfire.

It's a Duesenberg Double Cat 6 @ about $ 3,000.00 to $3,500.00 in the Black Finish. It probably plays extremely well as far as the action goes ( they use the German " Pllex " system for dressing the frets to within 1/100 of a millimeter. At that cost you should probably save up for the Alembic like he is using in Something like Olivia. The Alembic that he is using runs about $12, 500.00 + but the quality is complete from woods to hardware to electronics.
