Does anyone think the jokes were not that funny but stupid? Maybe that was the point. All I can remember back then was when the show came on, it was a newer, different type tv show that hadn’t been shown before which caused a pretty big buzz. It was novel at the time.
I was just shy of 9 when it began and it seemed so funny at the time. Not so much now. But the show did have its moments. And yes, it was all a buzz with their pushing the boundaries at times. White audiences didn’t know Sock It To Me meant F… Me.
I remember these skits. They are as funny today as when I first saw them.
