I will be doing a load of early game training before i venture out into the world, if possible. Most of those monsters you mentioned will be a handful to deal with, which makes me feel extra cautious.
aye, preparation is bound to be very important in this game. THere will almost certainly be a ton of more mundane enemies for the player to face in the early game... wolves and bandits and such. The plan is to have enemies become more difficult as you get further from civilization so as long as you stick to cities and villages and what not early on you aren't likely to meet the more terrifying creatures on the list

I only know this because it was in a Ted Peterson interview but he was apparently pronouncing the malus named Charloch as Sherlock or maybe or perhaps he said Sharlock, so I'm guessing that some of these names in game have creative spelling making it hard to know exactly how they want it said. Either way, I think he said Charloch had a similar motive to sheogorath or at least a trickster/chaos theme.
Rather than creative spelling I think it's a matter of them being drawn from real world languages whose spelling and pronunciation are atypical for English. Some in these videos I recognize and know are being mispronounced but I'd probably also be mispronouncing many.
Yeah, I am sure I am mispronouncing many of the names they have for things... I actualy recorded myself say Charloch's name in multiple ways and decided to go with this one... wrong again it seems. I'll see if I can find that interview so I can get it right in the future... wouldn't happen to have a link to it or the name of the channel the interview appeared on?
yeah, one of the devs told me they want the correct name pronounciations to be a bit ambiguous but he only told me that because my pronounciate of "sidh" was so wrong he thought he'd be doing a disservice to the language from whence it came if he didn't correct me... Pronounciation is the main reason I have taken to showing the names of things I am talking about in the video. That way people can know if I am pronouncing it incorrectly or at least understand why I am pronouncing it the way I am
@@Lorespire Sidhe I recognized as wrong because I have at least a passing familiarity with the Celtic languages and that's kind of their word for fairy. Others look like they belong to language groups I could guess. But I don't speak any of these languages. Mostly I know them from trying to make character names in RPGs. Ideally something which sounds cool and also means something in some current or dead language. I don't think it really matters if you're getting those wrong. Almost no-one would know. English words like archipelago and duchy (I think you mispronounced that in an earlier vid) people might criticize you for but place and people names from TWR I don't think many would. I think what you're doing - taking your best guess and displaying the spelling on screen - is good enough. Google translate is a good single site covering many live languages, which includes Celtic (Irish / Scottish / Welsh) but that would only pick up whole real words (eg. Sidh) and not anything the devs might creatively cobble together from or to be like real words from those languages.

thanks, I'm going to try to have the Goddesses video out tomorrow... I barely started editing it but it is a great deal shorter than this video so I think I can finish it tonight... if not it should be out on Saturday for sure

yeah... something like the bookworm does seem nigh unfightable... try to stab it and it just swallows you whole. I think we'll be running into those things in Early access which means we'll find out next year!
