I was 18 when this came out in 1987.
What a privilege it was to grow up in the 80's with such great bands!
Ditto that! I had no idea at the time what an absolute magical time I was living through. The music, the girls, the parties, and ah, youth!
I was 16, 80's were an amazing time
I was 17. Proud 80s teenager when the bands back then made classy videos like this.
Getting old is no fun , But the memories will last until the end of time .
60yo here and the only "old" that I am is old school
Time has no end btw ♾
These old music videos looked like movies. So perfect!
1987
The 80's will never be Murdered ! They shall Live Forever !
1987
Com certeza 🎉😂😂😂❤
The music 80'S is great.
Health,.money and love for you and family.
ABC one of the coolest of the 80s
Buenos días, Aintzane es prima tercera por parte de madre, y padre segunda. Macarena hija de primos míos me dijeron. Saludos.
María Bolinaga, hija de primos míos. Saludos.

True!!!
who else loves 1980's music ?
Me!
Me too! 😃
Is that even a question till the day I will love the 80s music.
I'm a Gen Y and I like a lot of 80's songs.
Ri-me!!!!!
this song and many other 80's songs transport me to a different era when music was like magic
Thank you CZcams for being a better Music Television station than MTV
His voice is perfect for a narrator. Love it.
Hands down, ABC one of the greatest bands of the 80's, not to mention the masterful lyrics, damn they could turn a lyric, and draw you right in.

My 80sBand..
Fantastic song from the excellent Alphabet City album
Co produced by Chic's Bernard Edwards, an elite and under loved masterpiece imho.

One of my favourite songs of the 80s
Mine, too! 👍🎵
I was born in 1981. I can smell the whole era, the feeling, the 80's........
The most under-rated ABC song, ever. The 1980s music blows away anything made today. Side note: Lol, Mark White is using a steel Parlor Resonator Bluegrass guitar in this video!
Martin fry, what a voice
80's are the summary of the greatest music.
The excess, the trivial, the fashions, hairdos and attitudes. Was it ever so delightful as in an ABC video? ♡
There was a lot of damn good music out of the 60's, 70's & the 80's. Of all the new romantics I loved Spandau Ballet & ABC. The music was melodic, tasteful & so romantic & sexy. The songwriters were truly AMAZING.
1987
After 30 years I can still close my eyes and feel the vibe from that stuff at the club. This was such a great tune. Chicks in there were pretty and everyone was having such a great time. Thank god some of my friends still live nearby.
Pretty girls are a rare sight. I am definitely not the most attractive man out there myself but his is just how I feel
Yo siempre relacione esta cancion con lo ultimo del breakdance que elegante single❤😊
Everything sounds the same today. Good to have youtube to stay where my heart is and ever will. I miss the 80s
This is still my favourite ABC song. I remembered recording this song off the radio onto my Boots Roller radio/cassette player and had to ask a school friend who it was as I'd missed the beginning!
Yeah, it's my favorite ABC song, too! 👍 🎵
I'm typing this from inside the womb, 80s Music is much better than stuff today
From an early age I was taught to respect
That a broken heart girl
Ain't a thing you collect
Close your eyes and say
Nothing lasts a day
You're wasting my time
Yet I love to love you
Close your eyes and say
Honour love obey
You're wasting my time
Yet I love to love you
It's cold outside
The night love died
On the night you murdered love
It's cold outside
The night love died
On the night you murdered love
January, February, March and April
May
June July sees you go by
I see love walk away
Didn't use a blade
A bullet or a gun
You poisoned the moonlight
It's cold outside
The night love died
On the night you murdered love
When you grow up on 80s and 90s music...It never plays out...EVER!
OLDER I GET, BETTER it sounds & hits the soul 🎸
This whole album is amazing.
FYI this song was co-produced with the late great legend that is Mr Bernard Edwards of CHIC fame, this is one of his bass lines which explains the super funky feel.
Nile Rodgers & Bernard are responsible for some of the biggest hit's during the 80-90's for artists like D Bowie (lets dance), Madonna(material girl), duran-duran, diana ross, sister sledge.. the list goes on. and not forgetting Niles current work with daft punk and others. According to Nile about a billion $ worth of music to date , RIP Mr Edwards
+Kilo kID Thank you for that information. I knew I recognized that sound.
Now you laid that information out I can hear the chic-ish sound in this song so makes sense
@@jonblazeinc I wonder if that's Nile uncredited on rhythm guitar.
This song was a perfect call-back to their "Lexicon of Love" era!
Inspired by but not played by Bernard Edwards:
Brad Lang - bass guitar on the Alphabet City album.
FELICITACIONES EXCELENTE TEMA Y EXCELENTE GRUPO MUSICAL....
Because THIS was music.
80's music.........timeless. it will live on always
First time i listened to abc in long time, smoothest of the smooth. Give them their due, they did release 8 to 10 songs i liked. Nice to listened to this again.
nothing is lost if it's remembered
This is the ideal pop song and Martin Fry gives it the character edge
What a funky bass line, what a beautiful variety of instruments, energy... Good taste and yes many of us regret the 80s in which music mattered more than today.
Thierry Van de Velde Bernard Edwards 😎
bernardedwards-esque
Master piece
Agree!
1:44 phoebe waller-bridge looking really good lately
Martin Fry was a cool looking dude like Bryan Ferry. Loved this groups music, Lexicon Of Love is still one of my all time fav albums. Lyrically brilliant!!!
Totally, he looks like a Swedish Bryan Ferry.
I think he was one of the sexiest men of the 80s
ABC Alphabet City 1987
Green Gartside clearly emulated Martin Fry.
Notice that his voice were ideal as a narrator.
Forgotten about how brilliant this song is.
ABC rocks to this day! The "Alphabet City" album was pure R&B-tinged awesomeness!!
No one can escape the allure of a brilliantly written song!
I 1ST HEARD THIS SONG 32 YRS AGO WHILE FLYING ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
I have only just discovered this song but I love it! Seeing ABC in Bournemouth on Saturday .
what an underrated band...
they sure are
The look of love, poison arrow and lexicon of love.. masterpieces
Voice is velvet. What a style: soooo chic... Loved this band since the very first note. Thanks much for posting.
Aaaaaah! The late eighties ........... What a wonderful time that was!!! I could cry a river, I really could!!! This decade has that same sort of do-anything feel about it also, we should soak the atmosphere right up!!! Its one to remember boys and girls!
Love it! Who is listen in 2021?
Ooh, the 80s in all its glory...I definitely love to love it!
Started college in 1980. Graduated in 85. Hit the clubs until 1990. Great times!
Can't believe the view count is not in the hundreds of millions. Definitely in my top 100 list for 80's songs.
I think 70 and 80s were the best
Definitely the best decades.
British pop is so good especially from the 80s. Martin Fry is so smashing!
These 80s Songs Really Touches My Soul 😣
+Musa Rico : Mine, too.
One of the very best of the new wave groups. I think some of their songs are high art.
The glamorous part of the 80’s ❣️
I used to blast this on my walkman, yes in the 80's! i still have a walkman too
So do I!
if some day you want to some one save and give love to your walkman think on me please! Grettings!
DA good olde days
Off
Love from a fellow 80s teenager.
Fabulous song. ABC have always done that disaffected cool thing really well. The bassline and guitar on this are disgustingly funky. You can hear the influence of Chic’s Bernard Edwards, who produced this cut.
As well as Nile Rodgers!
ABC have always had great bass lines. Love them.
Love that nutshell analysis!
Something about that vantage point @0:35 gives me chills when you think about the history and beauty of the city. There is some great staging in this video and presents Paris in a beautiful light.
One of the '80's best bands...Martin Fry...F...R...Y..I so miss the '80's,the best era of music in my book.I used to play this over and over, and dance in my room
"Who needs the moon when we've got the stars?"
brilliant band, totally underrated
Elegancia, ritmo y calidad . ORO PURO
I have liked ABC too since the 80s. They are unique and entertaining to me. Thanks for sharing...
Recently begin reopening the discographies of Thompson twins, Wall of Voodoo, Tears for Fears, and these exquisite gentleman right here. Not the hits mind you but every album track by track. I’ve rediscovered the hidden songs of my childhood that MTV didn’t bother to show and I found mini beautiful dated treasures in this great journey...But this one tops them all
Was in Paris for the first time when I came across the filming of this video. So much fun!
Best ABC record, all songs are fantastic! Music Elegance
Killer song,killer bassline.
+Saber Chamaoui Who play the bass? Is part of the band?
+gmansi "Kilo kID Hace 3 meses.

LOL
Thanks for the info.Mr Edwards put his signature on lots of tracks, may he rest in peace.
Brad Lang. He also played on ABC's Lexicon Of Love album. He played the bass on the entire Alphabet City album.Lang was a UK session bassist who also played with Wham.
@@gmansi ohhh I thought so!
Sin duda la musica de los 80's fue la mejor, si tuviera una maquina del tiempo, regresaría de nuevo, que recuerdos
They always had brilliant lyrics
Their lyrics are so reflective, such depth in, what are at the end of the day, pop tunes
I havent heard this song in absolute years but still remember the words.
Gorgeous video. Everyone looks so clean and nice! I do miss the 80s! Beautiful ladies acting like ladies and gorgeous men who are clean shaven and dressed well! I do miss my 80s
Genius
One of my fovourite bands of the 80' s. Thank you for the video.
The very best. Best voice, instruments, true passion and craft put into this, love all of ABC's work. Will never be another. Thanks for the memories, so we can re-live the very best decade in history: THE 80's!! ABC STYLE that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Mike J.
very sad i was 20 years old when i listen this song ..now 59
One of sophisti-pop anthems for sure. 80's 4ever!
ABC "all the best classic" MUSIC 🎵🎵🎵👍😎
Love Mark White, so charming, handsome and talented. Love to love him!
Can we share?... Please ;)
Yes, Martin was the voice of ABC and Mark was the sound. Together they had that killer, unique sound. It was never the same after Mark left.
Just seen ABC twice in 8 days (40th Anniversary of Lexicon of Love tour) and still sound brilliant and yes Martin also did this fantastic song. Given how well Lexicon and other ABC tunes have aged they must be one of the very best UK 80s bands. Come on Martin lets have a new Album.
Saw him on Saturday, stood at the front and screaming like a schoolgirl ☺️
It's one of my all-time favorites.
Good God, I have never hear this brilliant song until now, WOW!
Classic song. I remember recording this song in tape in my panasonic sc pm28, around 2004 or 2005. I know it was more than 17 years after this song came out, but even today this superhit remains superb!
Some of the best from the 80s
after the 80s i died....BEST decade ever...
MultiMrMiles I know the feeling--I'm an 80's zombie.
im with you bro...
Ditto that.
I second that emotion.
MultiMrMiles
this song is best heard LOUD. long live the 80s
You poisoned the moonlight when you put out the sun
so much refinement !! ABC always on top
Can't...Stop....Listening...To...This... 🙂
Mali o' kužine odlicna stvar
Although the LPs that followed The Lexicon of Love got a mixed critical reception at the time, for me they've aged really well. Fantastic songs on all of them. Used to see Mark White in his fabulous Gaultier outfits around the clubs like Traffic on York Way on Sunday nights and was more than a little envious, still have a pair of the metal shoe plates he's wearing here.
80s was a great time for clubbing. Dancing.
Man, these guys had style.
Most of British bands if you think about it, ABC, SPANDAU BALLET, JOHNNY HATES JAZZ, HUMAN LEAGUE and many more!
You bet!
Abc The Night You Murdered Love 1987
ABC Love The 1980's
This is a really "classy" song; superb music and lyrics, and of course, great vocals. Fantastic stuff!
Peerless sophistipop.
That's one slick jam right there.
Martin and Mark Forever! Just seen ABC in Glasgow and still absolutely amazing :)
Listened today when I was in my car... I felt myself still young! in 1987 I was 19 years old. I miss those carefree times! Music is ageless for sure!
Svaka ti je ka u Njegoša
A club track at the time, along with Curiosity Killed the Cat, Jody Watley, Fine Young Cannibals, Pepsi and Shirley. 1987.
1987
One of my favorites by ABC ! Never got the airplay it deserved .
The good old days!
Uno tra i più bei brani di sempre. La classe non è acqua.
