Nice easy watch with plenty small fish and appetising cook and eat session, but how I yearn for those fantastic days in the 1970's 80's when the fish in those lochs were well into double figures from the shore caught.

Loch Goil, emptied by trawlers in the 70's and 80's, never recovered. Used to fish every weekend and landed 6 ft conger eel, giant cod, haddock, whiting, gurnard, skate and flounder. An absolute crime that these waters were allowed to be overfished by illegal operators. An old biscuit tin works just as well as a smoker...

Loved it up there in the 70s and 80s in the Royal Navy, I would fish any chance I could from the side or the flight deck. I kept our Chinese Laundrymen in fish for a while and any good catches were usually snaffled up by the skipper haha
    Cheers
