- I wanted to share how I create granular textures and glitch effects using foley and Output's Portal and some interesting processing. I use a lot of Mr. Bill's foley packs as there are tons of great sounds to mess with.

tip for resampling a loop. the buttons next to the loop button on the top start and stop recording when they hit the loop brace if looping is off
This helped a lot
I’m glad you found it helpful!!
Nice ideas!
Thanks!
hell yeah🔥💜
I know that bill foley pack better than my parents
I’ve had it for so long now and there is so much good stuff in there I’ve never bothered getting more foley lol
@@ashenpall yeah same, except for some recording. it's just nice to know exactly where to look when i need a certain layer. i often just hear a sound and think ah yeah, needs some brushy bush, should probably also layer some hits with exploding lightbulbs and maybe a smashing cd player
@@ashenpall Thanks for a good video!
Also this comment 😂
oooooooh new video nicee
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@ashenpall i did indeed, i could watch hours of you fiddling with glitches and foley, we seem to have quite similar taste in that regard
This is an interesting experiment. Would be interest to hear it against a bass line because everything is a bit atonal. Might have forced you to pitch adjust the samples into the melodic key of the song ❤❤
Thanks a lot! I actually have an EP out on Billegal where I use a ton of this kind of sound design and I didn’t really have to tune any of it just because it’s so atonal. It’s more like mixing drums than a melodic sound
What is that song in the intro omg
That is from my ‘The Order’ two-tracker. I think it’s brain mush haha
@@ashenpall love it, is the percussion on it made the same way as this video?
Yup! I like to experiment with different processes and sometimes I’ll take an effects chain that I’d normally reserve for bass sounds and mess with that but the idea is always the same and for the most part every sound starts from foley samples. I’ve recently started using Emergent Drums and doing this process with generated percussion hits and it works quite well too.
@@ashenpall wow thanks for the detailed response man, love❤️…emergent looks great as well.
Ahhh
🙄 Promo`SM
Not sure what this means
