♥ I can recommend using a reference track to see what other artists have done. Put the track into your DAW and go section by section and compare, add, subtract. I really like this one, it gives me lots of ideas and inspiration.

Quick question on filter automation. I noticed you sometimes just automate an Auto Filter cutoff instead of using
the serum built-in filter so you can draw custom shapes on a whole synth stack. However, I found that with very quick automation e.g. 16th notes Auto Filter starts sounding really wobbly and loses definition. Have you noticed this and what would you advise to do when you need to do fast filter automations but still want to switch up the shapes?

havent noticed anything like that, I can recommend resampling the track to visually see whats going on. maybe the sound is bleeding when its supposed to be quiet. it might be just too fast for ableton to do the math, you might need to slow it down or resample each lfo'd part individually. make sure theres no effects after autofilter
Ok, I'll try that. Btw I found Pro Q3 in "Linear Phase mode - low" is a lot cleaner sounding when doing very fast automation in 16th or 32th grid then Auto Filter.

I am sorry, if you are distorting your kick so hard, you could have started pretty much from an arbitrary sample, like a drum machine kick sample, no point to mess w field recordings, the fact of using them specifically does not contribute anything to the sound of the kick
