My Virgin Kitchen is a CZcams cooking channel created when I wanted to teach myself how to cook and create a video diary of the journey / mrbarrylewis . I have never had a professional lesson & am just your every day chap attempting recipes to inspire you guys to try too. I upload 2 recipe videos per week, but some fun is had too on Sunday when it is Funday where anything goes....including giant foods, mini foods, taste testing foods sent from around the World, kitchen gadget testing and many more. Any requests for recipes / cool stuff you've seen let me know! I try my best to reply to as many comments as possible, but it is hard to as I am busy working on the next video, but please interact with eachother and be respectful :-) #supersizeguys #giantfood #crunchie
Giant foods may be happening more often soon but for a specific charity raising money...i'm trying to work out the best way to ask for donations during videos... i'll keep you posted on that but here's the playlist if you have missed any of the other giant foods to date czcams.com/video/Twm9MY8s7YA/video.html
If you keep the spoon in hot water the golden syrup will slide off.
If you can find a project you can finish in a day, you should do it live :) No idea if it will be a success or not, but live streams for charity does tend to work out very well.
My Virgin Kitchen you are amazing! look forward to helping out :)
that looked awesome and how about a giant malteser nom nom
Streams are typically the best options because they give instant gratification to the donators when stretch goals are met, but that might be hard with food stuff that has to sit for a long time. But, find something to fill the down time and you've got a winner for sure.
how about a giant bueno? :>
omg yes
just commenting OOOH YEEESSSSS!!!!
just commenting GIANT BUENO OMGGGGGGGGGGGG
they are delicous
yesss
I like how he explains the ingredients which might not be available to us, as if we're going to try doing this.
deeeeead hahahahahahahahahaha
ikr lol
You could make a smaller version I guess if you wanted to try and make homemade honeycomb
Oh I'm definitely going to do this
@@nabilahstephens3983 liar
Hey Barry, I was thinking you could make a giant dog treat for a local shelter. And maybe even have a few shots of the dogs going away at it.
Sharabeans good idea
I vote for this! You don't think the dogs might fight each other over the treat, though? 😯
Sharabeans look you’re intentions are good but that wouldn’t work for many reasons 😊👍
@Squoose each dog can have different allergies to the next. He would have to try to work in each allergy and it may lead to a not very good treat. And he'd have to break it up before hand since each dog is different at shelters some can't eat with other dogs without getting in a fight. Also most animal shelters will not allow you to bring in homemade treats because they don't know you. For all they know he laced it with cyanide poisoning or xylitol which is almost just as deadly to dogs. It's a sweet suggestion and thought but it wouldn't work.
@@stephanieann6622 It could work if he uses natural ingredients found in normal dog treats. Not all dogs have allergies, in fact it's pretty uncommon, especially if he were to use natural ingredients. He could also make it at the shelter, with shelter workers/volunteers, therefore eliminating the "he could be poisoning them" idea. He could either break it up before giving it to each dog, or could do lots of smaller ones or something, I'm sure if he got in touch with a shelter they would advise him on the best course of action. From what I know, shelters are always looking for publicity to try to increase people's awareness, a youtube collab with him making treat(s) for the dogs and maybe a little bit on the work the shelters do etc could actually be a good idea that would be beneficial to all involved.
my favourite series ever
ohemgeeitsmaya i love your channel !!
Beautiful 😍
Ur subscribed to memeulous, will and Alex aswell!!!
Here here
a couple giant skittles in different colors would be cool.
I agree with this
just seeing how they'd get the shape would be interesting
MrW8898 idk how they would but how awesome would that be? u get a thumbs up from me. cool idea
MrW8898 Giant Starburst may be easier to recreate but just as tasty as Skittles 😀
Dana Leigh I thought about that too, but I thought Skittles sounded really challenging. I thought watching them get the shape and coating would be really interesting.
You two should make videos more often. You're a brilliant duo! :)
Raatomieli The podcast proofs this even more!
giant Malteser 😍
Emo JoJo 😂😂😂
Jordan Orr I BURST OUT LAUGHING OH MY GOSH
In Aus we have crunchie, violet crumble and ice cream called hokey pokey
Emma Faith Even though I am Australian, I have never heard of Violet Crumble BUT I have heard of Hokey Pokey.
I’m Australian. I’ve heard of both the chocolates but not the hockey pokey 🤷🏻♀️
Aussie here. Never heard of hokey pokey. I thought it was a dance.
cosmicrdt haha, same😂 lol
GIANT TOBELRONE
Coralleaf old style
toblerone*
My favourite chocolate! Yessssss
Already exists, it’s like a foot long and as wide as a pipe used in your heating
we have both crunchies and violet crumbles in australia. i dont know how to describe the differences other than what you can see in the picture. the crumble is solid and the crunchie is full of bubble holes like an aero. i prefer the crunchie.
Bro in Australia we have crunchy and The other one
I know right literally as he said that I said "No it's noooottt!" In a really annoyed tone
yea crunchys are better
Thank you. First thing I did was look for this comment. I'd even say the crunchie is more popular than the violet crumble. I haven't seen one of those in years.
I think they have slightly different recipes.
Honeycomb is not made out of honey?
I feel like I’ve been lied to. 😭
Well some are but they made this one from scratch
Loved the ending comment "we don't do it for no reason... but we used to 😂😂
Please make a giant wagon wheel and double decker
Cara Grbich yasss double deckers are amazing!!
Cara Grbich And a mini Wagon wheel. Won't be much different to the standard size one these days😤😤
Wagon Wheels were my Da’s favourite bikkie!!!
For the future.
Try to get your hands on molds for homemade soap or candles. Also fudge molds will work because they are food safe
Hey, love that you didn't edit out the sounds of your kids in the back ground. This is one of the reasons I watch your show. That and your funny as all get out cookie. Say hey to Mrs. B. She's not on here nearly enough. Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope your holidays are full of happiness ❤️❤️❤️.
Make a giant Collin the caterpillar cake!! That would be so cool
yessss Omggg
mabz rosie Yes, always there for my birthdays
I love this idea
can't get more patriotic than that!
mabz rosie or a honey hedgig cake
up north we call the honey comb cinder toffie
Definitely in Lancashire we do! A favourite on bonfire night!
Some people call honeycomb “Sponge Toffee.”
who loves that lidls do 30p chocolate and its actually decent
It's 1 am here in Canada and instead of sleeping, I'm watching Barry Lewis. Seems like a good decision.
And violet crumbles and crunchies are NOT the same thing! HERESY!!!!!
Crunchies are immensely superior
Violet Crumbles are now Aussie owned.
Mind you, I buy the bags of cheap honeycomb.
I agree that they are very different.
I prefer the violet crumble but they cost $6 each in the USA nowadays.
I'm laying here in the WORST Pain of my life Since Giving birth, with Kidney Stones !! For 3 weeks now, and it's the First time I've Smiled. Thanks guys I love it
I’m from Australia and I have never heard of a violet crumble but crunchy is everywhere
You know it's a good day when there's giant food
For the American audience, what our lovely British friends are calling honeycomb is almost exactly the recipe you use for making peanut brittle. The difference is a touch of salt, and obviously you pour the molten sugar mix over peanuts. I wonder why none of the American candy manufacturers have thought of making this kind of candy bar.
Cheers guys. Great video as always!
Totally miss the Super Size Guys. These vids are loads of fun
In Australia we have both Violet Crumbles and Crunchies in most supermarkets :)
do a giant curlywurly
Steelword648 !!!! Yessss
Steelword648 !!!! Yeeeah that's soooo good
Steelword648 !!!! Yesssss
Oh my god yes
Steelword648 !!!! Yes!!!
As an Australian I can say that we do have violet crumble, but we have way more crunchies we also call honycomb, honeycomb
I'm glad to see that the Violet Crumble vs. Crunchie debate did indeed break out in the comments as I thought it would. I'm a crumble man myself.
Also these videos are strangely relaxing, just watching normal human beings going about their everyday lives 👍🏻
12:36 There was room for two on that honeycomb! Jack could have survived!
The Forgotten i
This is the most wonderfully yummy project ever. Back when I was young and 17 (1990 to show my age) I discovered the wonderful Crunchie Bar during a brief layover at Gatwick. Currently you can find them here ( Georgia, USA) but back in the day and before internet I would beg anyone that was headed your way to please bring me back one. It was a very rare treat. Later on my now husband traveled a lot on business. And when he could he would bring me a box of them home instead of flowers. He is a very smart man. Thanks for taking me down memory lane!
NO IN AUSTRALIA WE HAVE VIOLET CRUMBLES *AND* CRUNCHIES!
Is there a difference? When I hear "Violet crumble" I think of the violet flower, is it flavoured?
I love in the U.S and I ordered a international snack subscription box and I got a Violet Crumble it was absolutely delicious and one of the best candies I've ever had I totally recommend it and I actually might order more 😂
Mamediarra Ndoye - English Cadbury chocolate is the best if you get a chance to try it
I live in the US too, I've had a Crunchie bar thanks to Jungle Jim's lol.
If you don't know what Jungle Jim's is its an international food store located in Ohio :)
Also I'm Aussie and I like crunchies more than violet crumbles
On a side note...The view out of your kitchen window it lovely 🍃🌳🌱
I live in cornwall and I am born in cornwall It's so nice when people mention this beautiful place on youtube
OMG YOU TOO HAVE REUNITED!! MORE MORE MORE!!!!!
Caramel Chick01 two*
You should do a giant Homer Simpson style doughnut!! 🍩🍩
Or for a savoury option, a giant taco!! 🌮🌮
Alex Dawes omg a giant taco would be heaven to me
JustAnotherLondoner haha same!
yes! a taco!
You should have used cadbury's chocolate to make it a cadbury's crunchie!
Agreeeeed, I read this comment before I finished the video. So sad to hear they didnt use Cadbury's plain chocolate 😭
Noone:
Absolutely noone:
Barry Lewis: "might as well"
* proceeds to pick up all the chocolate *
Funny enough, Australia has Crunchy and Violet Crumble in most shops that sell chocolate and hokey pokey is used for some honeycomb products made by smaller companies and heavily by the New Zealders accross the ditch.
'across the ditch' 😂 Haven't heard that term before.
New Zealders? We are new Zealanders or kiwis
We have Crunchies in Australia, but we also have a far inferior alternative in Violet Crumble. Crunchies are love, Crunchies are life!
#CrunchieLyfe 😍
Kim Salmon bol violet crumble shits on crunchie every day of the week
gaddy95 like no it doesn't
Violet crumble and crunchy are two different chocolate bars with totally different flavours. That is in Australia. New Zealand calls honeycomb hokey pokey.
i was sat in my room and for some reason i had the most random thought and i tried remember that guy i used to binge watch like 4 years ago who made really giant food. anyway i found you and am currently in the process of re watching all those videos i used to watch. There great entertainment!!! thank you so much :))))
Name a more iconic duo than these two, I'll wait.
this is bee id say Ant + Dec are equally as funny as these two, if ur not in the UK they are tv presenters + are absolutely hilarious 😂
this is bee laurel and hardy
this is bee Penn & Teller, Cheech & Chong, Jay & Silent Bob, Siegfried and whatever is left of Roy...
Choccy milk and and an Aussie, don’t wait any longer
Eli and instant noodles
first one looks amazing
It’s like a violet crumble. I love love this candy
Crunchie and Violet Crumble are both sold in Australia. Both are honey combe but made by different companies and have a different texture to each other.
This video deserves a like
%75 of comments: "We have crunchies in Australia too!!!!"

TronnorsZoobloo shat ap
Sebastian Lea What? lol
zoobloo I haven't seen any of those comments, what are you on about?? Lol
Yep, offended Aussies.
First
That looks so yummy. I made a giant twix a few yrs ago for my husband's birthday. He loved it.
Zero intention to attempt this, u guys are just hilarious, only reason I watched 😂😂
Hey Barry love you videos. I think it would be cool if you doc a video on how to make things with the least ingredients like 3 ingredient brownies or something 😂. This is one of my favourite channels love it x
Elisha Rai that's actually a TV show on food network. the host is kind of boring though.
Giant Magnum icecream with almonds
yes, in australia we have violet crumble, but we also have crunchie which almost everyone prefers and most people wish violet crumble didn't exist
You should make a giant milky bar!
Hum that would just be a lot of white chocolate. Probably not that interesting..
Greetings from New Zealand ! We sure do love our Hokey Pokey. Love watching your videos Barry :)
A giant rainbow cake :)
I’m American but I’ve travelled to the UK a lot and I love Crunchies!! The only time I can get them is at Disney EPCOT, but now I can make my own! Thanks!!
If you added roasted peanuts in right before the baking soda, dripped it onto a cookie sheet, then stretched it out, you'd have peanut brittle. Delicious!
it is a CRUNCHIE in australia too LOL :)
violet crumble exists aswell that is what he means, meaning violet crumble is an Aussie version.
MY MINDS TELLIN ME NOOOOOOO
BUT MA BODYYYYY
My body is tellin me yeeees!
love a sing along
Barry come on join in! Finish the singalong!
My Virgin Kitchen was that bridgy you went to?
Violet crumbles have actual honeycomb compared to the foam like filling crunchies use
I remember the first time I made honeycomb and the shock of the bicarbonate soda interacting with the sugar and golden syrup lol. I then made it again for sister's birthday and Paddy's day hat lol
PLEASE MAKE A GIANT BUENO!!!!!
Next you should do a giant lion bar like if you agree that
We have crunchies in Australia
Violet crumble is the same just another name/brand. We also call it honey comb
I live in America and I’m OBSESSED with Crunchies!
There are a few places for me to get my Crunchies but they are all American produced.
I plan on ordering straight from the UK but international shipping is not my thing (there was an incident)
I found this video and decided oh what the heck.
Wish me luck on my pursuit to get a Crunchie bar!
I live in Australia and Violet crumbles are by nestle and crunches are by Cadbury we have both of them and they are different
Cara Grbich Yeah.... But crunchies are way better
Matteo Persechino nooooo violet crumbles are better
me and my friend would love to see you make a giant smore.
Actually (at least in the USA) corn syrup comes in both light and dark varieties. Cane syrup is also available (though expensive), and actual golden syrup is available in the foreign foods section (also expensive).
violet crumble and crunches are two different things both sold in Australia.
You could have lined it with cardboard then foil. Would have kept a good bit of the heat away from the plastic.
That would have insulated it and it would have taken longer to cool
My favorite candy, not available in the US. I spent 40 dollars to import a few bars... i felt silly about it.
MothraVsTheWorld me too! I live in china now, and it’s ¥100 for a couple snack sized ones...I’ll be asking my European family to bring some over when they visit because I love them
You can get them in America. I am from Ireland and live in New York City now. You can get them here if you have a grocery that sells Uk imports. I can find them in LOADS of places. Think it helps that I am in a big city (of course) Always Amazon as well. Don’t feel silly I would do the same if I had too. It’s all grand, anything for chocolate. x
It's available in the U.S, it's called sponge candy or sponge tofy.
little tip guys try spraying the spoon or like measuring cup or measuring spoon with spray oil or cooking sprays to help it come off or out alot easier like with honey or golden syrup
That hokey pokey bit😂😂😂 hilarious
a giant milkyway midnight bar. they are my favorite candy bar
We have hokey pokey ice cream in New Zealand, it has lil chunks of honey comb in vanilla ice cream. I think it's just a NZ thing.
blackglittercandy Best ice cream in the world !!!!! ❤
blackglittercandy I'm Australian and have also had Hokey Pokey Ice Cream. It's good!
in the uk a call that honeycomb icecream
blackglittercandy I live in NZ what brand is it? Is it tip top??
We have that in England as well, just not called hokey pokey.
here in Australia we have both, crunches are Nestle and violet crumbles are Cadbury
Gotta get that Friday feeling.
Put ur golden syrup spoon in boiling water for a few seconds before spooning out, it just slips off
And it is satisfying to watch it just slip off
next can u make giant parmaviolet
Yum.. just yum. Now a giant Pearson's Salted Nut Roll.
This may be the best thing I've ever seen.
Can you do a flake ?!?
you guys are getting really good at these, how about something different....... giant gummy fizzy cola bottle? one the size of an actual 3 litre bottle of cola?
eating a crunchie is worth a trip to the UK in and of itself
We may not have these candy bars in the US but you can buy the same thing at local chocolatiers called seafoam, usually dipped in either dark or milk chocolate.
You need to make a pack of Munchies! Maybe just a single Munchie first though :D
Hey we have crunchy bars in Australia 🇦🇺 in fact I thought crunchy bars were Australian. 😂 Violet crumbles are slightly different.
Freya Tha Fox No unfortunately Cadbury Crunchies are British and Nestlé Violet Crumbles are Australian. They're only four years apart though! Crunchies were made in 1929, Violet Crumbles 1933.
Well someone did some studying btw I used to think that. Main point= WE HAVE BOTH so delicious 😋
Aha the Violet Crumble is a knock off version.
Blood nah Australia didn't get crunchys for a while they started just in England. Violet crumbles are way better though the chocolate is better and different size/shape better and they melt in your mouth BETTER. FYI have you even had both before 😂🙄
Freya Tha Fox yeah mate I know, Violet Crumble did come out before crunchy but crunchy tastes way better, in my opinion anyway, and yes I have had them, I'm born in Sydney, Wollongong
I love this giant series!! Next time I'd like to see a giant malteser, a marvellous creation bar or a giant curly wurly.
As an Australian I call it honey comb and in Australia we have a violet crumble and crunchie
Can you make a giant turkish delight chocolate bar :)
Ew
giant chocolate orange or giant chocolate orange segment!
You two are my new heros. I love crunchies.
Australia have both crunchies and violet crumble - different brands. They divide the country on who prefers which.
In Canada they call honeycomb sponge toffee
