If your baby runs low on oil, can you use brake fluid in a pinch.
Bryan Miata lol
Lmao
Where do u come up this.

OMG!! 😂
I think a good hack is that if your eating hard shell tacos they always crack so what I do is I put refried beans on the outside and a soft shell over that the refried beans act as glue and your taco becomes quieter so when I eat tacos at 2 am I don’t wake anyone up also no food comes out of the cracked taco
Jake Hamilton you stole that idea from Taco Bell
Jake Hamilton Tacos....... 2am....... WHY?!
I actually stole it from a family friend
Jake Hamilton who worked at Taco Bell
He already made that video bud lol

Believe me i am running baby oil since 1 year
in brakes and it works
So make a video on your Chanel Vaibhav and now don't say I'll will think about it and how brakes are working ?
Do you know it goes when you have to brake in a long trail where you use the brakes at high speed and when the temperature goes high? I have also heard that the baby oil is less liquid so when you brake, you have to push harder.
Sorry for bad English😅
I didn't know you are a Seth's Bike Hacks' fan!
@@soufianeljoudi I've been using it for years, mainly because I refuse to pay $30 for 50ml of Shimano oil when I can get 500ml of baby oil for just $3. I've used it in fat bikes, XC bikes, single speeds, and even my e-bike. It handles it all just the same as the Shimano fluid does.
This is what Magura says about drugstore mineral oil:
What type of oil should I use in my Magura hydraulic brakes?
Magura Blood mineral oil is the recommended oil, which is a 10 weight mineral oil. By far, our most common problem we encounter is consumers putting off-the-shelf mineral oil (from a drug store) in their Magura hydraulic brakes. Off-the-shelf mineral oil is normally 30-50 weight which will make the brake very sluggish. In addition, off-the-shelf mineral oil has additives, perfumes and different boiling points, all of which can cause brake failure. USE ONLY MAGURA BLOOD IN YOUR BRAKE SYSTEM. Use of any other fluid besides Magura Blood mineral oil will void your warranty.

Adding a couple drops of soap or any other surfactant to your water while cutting carbon will minimize the possibility of airborne fibers. Pro tip from the asbestos world.
Eric Turney interesting
cheers to that was just grinding some carbon yesterday
Should have came across your comment earlier. I cut my carbon bar early last year and made a dusty airborne mess. The worst part was that it stick to my sweaty body. Get a shower and end up messing up my drainage too.

Thank you so much for making these videos ,also can you make a check up on all your bikes ? Like if you want that
Maximilian von Stern he has a video like that from a few months back, you should check it out
Fangyao Huang I know that he has a video like that . I just wanted to see if he changed something in his bike collection. Thanks for the info tho 👍
Been watching your channel for years, got my first real mountian bike today. Merry Christmas!
Nice! Welcome to the riders club.
Watcha get? Im always interested to see what people choose as their first real bike.
what bike did you get?
Saaaame. Got myself an Aim Pro by Cube. What did you get?
Jen Weaver what did u get
Seth I feel like you should finally tell us YOUR story :) How did all this began? Your first bike, first BMX experiences (?) and how did you got into mountain biking. I've been following your channel since the very beginning and seen all the videos I believe, there were some past clips cut here and there but really you should consider the comprehensive video on your story :) I'm sure this will be highly inspirational! Cheers!
If you have shit wire cutters, and you cutting cables, just tape the part you want to cut with electrical tape, then cut on the electriCal tape so it wont fray the cable
works with a Dremel if you don't have any wire cutter at hand too
This is important
Love your videos Seth. Along with BKXC, Phil and Alex your work has inspired me to start recording some of my rides to preserve those awesome memories.
Hope the recovery is progressing well, hopefully we will be able to see you in sunny Australia someday!
I liked the video, it's a great and helpful one. Thanks Seth!
Love your stuff Seth! Watching your videos always makes me get on my bike!
Dang, shirk wrapping your brake hoses just looks so clean!! I can't stop staring at it, I might have to do it one day too!
I know a guy that runs baby oil in 5 of his bikes with no issues. At $70/L for the real stuff it's a no brainer.
I’ll wait for the autopsy next year, but good to hear a success story!
I have seen it in a forum, but because of the fragrance it kept me away.
I will definitely wait to see how this goes
$70/L is utter BS. It's $16 shipped . My 1L bottle has lasted well over 10 years and it's still 2/3 full. That's $0.50/year. Dunno why anyone would bother risking problems for that.
@@MTBinKY bit of an exaggeration but here in Canada at least the cheapest I could find was $40 from Dunbar which is still a lot.
@@409nh8 you can probably find it for cheaper on Amazon
Hate watching your videos in the winter.... I can't wait to ride!!

Yesss. Just let Phil build it. Jk. But it would be sick
2 main problems with baby oil is it's the wrong weight oil, and it gets thicker as it gets cold, never used it in my MTB but my wifes last ktm 200 which has magura hydraulic clutch came with it in the system, when cold the clutch was nearly unusable, I've heard fellow mtbikers try baby oil in their brakes say the brakes get sluggish in the cold and change feel. Mind you this is south of 20f.
Finally, a smart person in the comments! Thanks, Mr. Kohn
You nailed it.... It's a totally different viscosity. Though it will work it won't work correctly 👍
Was recently at a Magura tech clinic and they said our mineral oil is a different weight from Shimano. Dont mix.
Over here its 40 degrees celcius evey day not need to worry about the oil freezing need to worry about the bike melting ahah
If you guys want to try something different try Bionol because the viscosity is even better then Magura or Shimano mineral oil.
You also could make salad with it, its biodegradable, boiling point @ 300°C.
I use it on not working Shimano M8000 XT brakes where the bite point was wandering around with Shimano Oil. With the Bionol it just worked without wandering.
I also use this stuff with my Shigura brakes , Trigura and Magura..
This stuff was made for the newer Trickstuff brakes and they are really impressive.
Thanks for making the best video on CZcams
I've used car brake fluid for my Shimano brake system for three months and it's just fine! Awesome vid man!
Please pay attention to the kind of fluid. Is it dot?
If is it "dot 4" or more or less like dot 3 or dot 5 it will ruin brakes from inside.
Shimano uses mineral oil but car fluid is Dot kind.
Dot is a little eater. If you use Dot on Shimano for long time, you have to change the whole of brake system.
Its better to clean it from Dot oil
What is weird is I do enduro racing and trail rides on a supersport dirtbike. I dont even mountain bike but I still watch all his videos😂
Move your lock-on grips out beyond the ends of your handlebars if you want to experiment with handlebar width. Note: Don't ride on the trail with this setup as the grips could slide off, break, and you can't use bar end plugs. Only use it to test out different widths to determine what width bar you need.
Great tip ;)
Mate i had give a thumbs up just for your time and effort.
I love your all videos
fasten zipties around your multitool, but fasten them the wrong direction (so that they don't click). They should stay pretty tight, and it's a nice solution to the problem of opening your saddlebag and having 10 zipties come springing out at you, and they're nice and accessible for quick repairs
I have seen people fasten it as you said but on their helmet.. and if you have enough, you can make a mohawk out of it.. :P
Snack sized ziplock bags work well for keeping them organized in a saddle bag too.
One of those rubber ties saved my $5,000 bike from hitting the freeway going 80 miles per hour. It was the only thing between my bike and the asphalt!
with enough money for a 5000 dollar bike might wanna get a good bike rack or something
nice video! thanks for the tips
Best one yet!
I've been using Simple Green to clean my mtb and motos, may switch to car wash on the mtb to keep it shiny! Glad you thought the kydex was as rad as I did!
Got kydex arriving Monday thanks to your vid! 👍
Awesome! 🤘
Don't worry about it. If you like your bike to shine,
Actually wax the frame, seat tube, fork lower tubes, hubs, spokes, rims, after a wash with quality carnauba wax like your car.
Comes out glossy, and sheds mud real nice.
Just don't wax the rotors, grips, shifter levers, brake levers, fork sliders or rear shock tube!
And also, automotive interior cleaner/conditioner works a treat for keeping your saddle in good shape and clean.
I've found the best all around bike soap to be Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo.
Its gentle, cheap and won't strip the lube from your suspension, bottom bracket head tube bearings or chain.
Simple green is a de greaser...keep away from shock, fork, and anything with bearings in it.
When u said “hey Siri” my Siri went off 😂😂😂

Another top tip: the cutout in your saddle is not for penile insertion.
JTMarlin8 you don’t say?
@@scolex8001 Ok I lie. It is for that purpose.
1 million subs!!! Love the vids seth🤙🏼
I actually did not know most of these, Thanks!
'Regular' mineral oil has a very different viscosity compared to the Shimano brake fluid. I tried regular mineral oil once and could never get all the air bubbles out of the brake line. I chalked it up to one of those experiences where you learn that it is usually best to follow the manufacturer's instructions, this is especially true when it comes to safety related maintenance. The large bottle of Shimano branded brake fluid is only US$30 at the LBS. A US$3 bottle of mineral fluid is a false economy.
actually all the manufacturers have different boiling points, viscosities, and additives in their mineral oil blends. I’m really curious about how this experiment works out.

Seth When I watch your video I always Keep calm The nice sothing sounds.
Using baby oil will make your brake lever dirty after some time and that thing leaks on the main cylinder....yep i did it on my shimano deore m615 drained all the stock brake fluid and replace it with baby oil .. After a month youle see what i mean. But Dont worry just drain the baby oil then do some cpr on your brake levers to blow any left overs and spray brake cleaner on the main cyclinder which the blade pushes (thats outside) and your ready to go for the original mineral oil made by johnsons i mean shimano
you're* ready
