  • Xenical is a branded weight loss pill that can reduce fat intake by up to 33%. Here Dr Daniel Atkinson, Clinical Lead at Treated, talks about how the treatment works and how to take it.
Xenical is a branded version of Orlistat - a prescription medication that you take three times a day with each of your main meals. It binds to the fat you eat so that less of it is absorbed by your body. Xenical works best alongside a healthy diet and exercise regime, and it’s only suitable for people who have a BMI of 30 or above, or 28 and above if they also have metabolic risk factors like high blood pressure or diabetes.
The Treated team can help you get the weight loss treatment that’s best for your life. Subscribe, pause or stop whenever it suits you. Choose better.

Hi Divahfaiz, thanks for your question.
How long you take it depends on how well it works for you and what your target weight is.
The aim of the treatment really is to get you to a healthy BMI range of under 25 - so what's considered a healthy weight can vary depending on your height. For example, to get to a healthy BMI, someone who's taller and weighs 100kg won't need to lose as much as someone who's shorter and weighs 100kg.
When you take Orlistat/Xenical, you'd normally expect to lose 5% of your body weight within 12 weeks of use. But this might mean that you need to take it for more than 12 weeks if your aim is to lose more than 5%.
When you take Xenical, you'll have regular checkups with your doctor, and they'll advise you how long you need to take it for.
      Hope that helps.

Hi Swathi. Thanks for your question.
It depends how well it works for you and if it helps you lose weight. Normally when you take it you'll check in with a doctor regularly to see if it's helping you. If you take it for 12 weeks and haven't managed to lose 5% of your starting weight in this time, your doctor may discontinue it and suggest something else.
If it does work for you, you can take it for longer than 12 weeks depending on how much weight you need to lose. Your doctor will advise you on this. In clinical trials, duration of use was studied for up to 4 years.

Hi there, thanks for your question. Xenical only works in the presence of fat in your body that has come from a meal. You wouldn't take the medication if
you miss a meal or if you know that your meal contains no fat (however, most meals contain some fat).

Hi, Can I take Xenical when trying to get pregnant?! Does it have an effect on fertility or and the Embryo? Thank you!

Hi Estefania, thanks for your question. Unfortunately, there isn't much data or studies to show that Xenical is safe during pregnancy. Therefore, we do not recommend that you take it if there is a chance you could be pregnant or are trying to conceive. Please ensure that you speak to your doctor to discuss the most suitable weight loss options whilst trying to conceive.

You can take MCT Oil. It's completely safe and has nothing but positive side effects, except for a sore tummy in the beginning. That's only because it's getting rid of all the toxins in and around your belly and intestine.

You can do the same thing with MCT Oil, except no prescription and it's cheap.

Hi there, it's true that MCT oil is more easily accessible without a prescription and is often more affordable. However, it's essential to note that while research on MCT oil is promising, there isn't enough conclusive data to definitively prove its effectiveness for weight loss. Always remember to consult with your healthcare provider before making any significant changes to your weight loss regimen. They can offer personalized guidance and ensure you are on the right path to achieve your health goals.

@@Treated-com I've lost 70lbs since January. The only thing I changed, eating wise, is consuming MCT OIL and Natural Herbal Intake. That and I eat more now without fear of weight gain. My doctor had me on medication after medication ( 5 different including blood pressure ). I'm off all of them now. I've also learned that our "Doctor's" are simply puppets for the pharmaceutical companies. They want you to stay sick, otherwise they can't profit. I've also learned that most American Processed Foods are complete poison. I don't trust anything coming out of a Doctor's mouth now. I rate them on the same level as a used car salesman and an ambulance chasing attorney. Pretty sad, but now I'm as healthy as I was in my 20's, thanks mostly for trusting my "gut" feeling.

hi doctor, i just wanna ask something before buying this xenical. i usually wake up 10 or 11 am because of my work timings.. so i usually eat lunch and dinner only. Is it okay if i'll just take it 2 times a day since i usually skip breakfast?

    • @Treated-com
      @Treated-com  Před rokem

Hi there! That's right - because of your eating pattern of having two meals a day, you may only need to take two tablets a day. When you speak to a clinician about your diet, it's possible they might suggest eating 3 smaller meals over 2 larger meals, but that's for you and them to discuss. Hope that helps!
