Let’s talk about Ozempic. Ozempic is an injectable drug that’s used to help people lose weight. Yes, it may work. But it’s expensive and has serious potential side effects.
Ozempic increases a certain receptor that helps slow down digestion and decreases appetite and cravings. It also helps restore insulin levels and blood sugar levels.
Potential side effects of Ozempic can include:
    • Nausea
    • Vomiting
    • Bloating
    • Abdominal pain
    • Headaches
    • Gas
    • Constipation
    • Diarrhea
    • Heartburn
    • Dizziness
    • Thyroid cancer
    • Suicidal thoughts
    • Pancreatitis
    • Kidney disease
    • Retinopathy
    • Muscle loss
    • Gastroparesis
The question is, will Ozempic really solve your weight loss problem without giving you a different problem? How about an alternative? Thousands of natural chemicals in plants have therapeutic health benefits with rarely any side effects.
The best natural remedies for weight loss:
    1. Panax ginseng
    2. Berberine
These home remedies for weight loss are great to use in combination with changing your diet. The best diet plan for weight loss is the Healthy KetoÂŽ diet with intermittent fasting.
Not only will the Healthy Keto diet and intermittent fasting help support weight loss, but they also help reduce hunger and cravings. This is a weight loss plan you can do long-term and at a fraction of the cost of Ozempic.
The top benefits of the keto diet that go beyond weight loss include:
    • Improved cognitive function
    • Better mood
    • Enhanced liver function
    • Preserved muscles
    • Healthy digestion

About a million years ago (35 actually ) I had a summer job a Merck. My job was to catalogue plant sap samples they had gotten from trees from all over the world. There were enough of them to keep me busy for the summer. I cataloged them and aliquoted them so that scientists could test them for activity against various diseases. So yes, pharma knows that plants are the answer

How are people actually unaware of the fact that this channel is designed specifically for the purpose of advertising.
It’s a medium for pushing drugs and/or practices (with potential equipment) based on the payments this gentleman receives.
This does not discount the factual accuracy of the videos. It’s just deliberately structured to omit the nuance that would destroy the black/white view that’s necessary for this form of marketing to work. The nuance (paying close attention) that will actually make a difference.

I’ve been on the terrazipide injection on & off for about 3ish months..before taking this injection, I’ve suffered from chronic gastritis since I was a teenager. I had bouts of gastroparesis since I had my gallbladder out when I was a teenager. The only side effect I’ve had from the shot is mild constipation & it’s straightened itself out within a day or so. My gastritis has leveled out, zero gastroparesis, I have more energy and feel great. I am 40 pounds down & have 40 more to go. However I do have friends who have taken the shot and suffered a lot of the negative side effects

I had gastroparesis for 5 years! If that medicine slows your gut snd gives you those symptoms then you will not be hungry from nausea and fullness and won’t probably won’t get enough calories and nutrients. I would never risk getting gastroparesis. It’s a terrible disease. I do low carb and don’t eat after dinner and weight 12 hours until I eat again and fast on Saturdays and it has helped me stay at a healthy weight. Great video. Thank you!!!

Dr. Berg, I've struggled with my weight since I was 5 years old due to trauma-related food dependency. I was put on my first diet at the age of 8. I hit 200 lbs in 5th grade, and was 240 lbs by 6th grade. I'm now 39, and in the last 3 years, I went from 350 lbs to 216 lbs as of this morning, and I'm still going. I've not been this size since I was 10 years old 🥹 THANK YOU. Along with diligently working on my emotional healing, you've helped me physically heal my body and I owe you so much gratitude. I feel much better, and all of the signs of fatty liver went away. I am down 5 sizes in my pants and 2 sizes in my shirts. Berberine has been fantastic for me and I never get hungry and I actually have to remind myself to eat all of the time. Nausea, heartburn, sulfur burps, etc. The only time I lost some weight was that first 10 months. Now I take 1 mg a week just to keep my blood sugar under control. Problem is. I live in Canada. He has only been on it a couple of weeks, but his overall condition has improved. LOve your videos and the alternative explanations of how things work. I have been battling all my life with appetite cravings which i have to state is different than being hungry. i can have extreme cravings on a full stomach. due to accute stress the past two years have been extreme in terms of binge eating. i gained 20 kg and developed fatty liver in only two months. those cravings just wouldn't stop as well as my thoughts around food 24/7 and the only thing that managed at least temporarily to stop it was ozempic (due to its effects on the hypothalamus has worked for other addictions too). Ozempic cut cravings and even hunger. that helped me easily do intermittent fasting and choose healthy foods and lose around 13kg. the thing is if i stop it the carvings come back. what else is there as an alternative with such dramatic effect on binge eating?(the only other thing i know are amfetamines). dietary guidelines and fasting fail when the cravings are active cause they cannot be applied. i would love your oppinion on this cause i struggle so many years. thanks again for the great content!!!

My issue with these injectable drugs is that they do little to deal with the psychological aspects of over-eating/binge eating. We all know (many of us from bitter experience) that we are fat and unhealthy because we eat too much of the wrong type of food. High sugar/ultra-processed food is often what we turn to when stressed or in an emotionally fragile place. Changing not only WHAT we eat but how and when we eat is the answer. Recognising the triggers that lead to emotional over-eating is key. An injection won’t help with any of that. Once you stop the injections, you’ll probably just return to the bad eating habits with commensurate weight regain and health issues returning. I will definitely check out the ginseng and berberine!

The whole point of ozempic is that it deals with the 'psychological aspects of over-eating/binge eating'. it makes you feel full and stop you thinking about food. Hence you eat less and lose weight. You are right that once injections stop, pre-ozempic eating habits come back. It's nice to think that we, as the human race, can overcome our unhealthy relationship with food with sheer will power, but statistical trends show otherwise.

This has been my experience as well. I am trying to get out of it tho but it became a train wreck. I find out that in order for me to maintain my weight, I need to make sure I am on ozempic. I had a surgery and taking other meds for it, had to be out of ozempic for about 3 months... it was a bit crazy! gained 20 lbs (mind you, the meds I got made me retain water and I wasn't moving much). Ozempic like everything else is not a miracle drug. I think that is where people gets it confused. As long as I eat a sensible diet (which I haven't, guilty of charge) and keep moving, it works. The great benefit for me, at least, was the cravings. I binge eat so this has helped me tremendously to keep that in check. I am giving it another try. Why? Because I got to be 250lbs at some point and nothing worked for me. This helped me to get to 157... now I'm at 180 now but the extra help keeps me motivated. :) thanks for your comment

Minor side effects only effect 5% to 10% of those using it. Thyroid Cancer? Ozempic does NOT product Thyroid Cancer in normal people, but it clearly states it should NOT be used on people with a family history of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplastic Syndrome. Same for Retinopathy. It should NOT be used for people who already have Retinopathy or Macular Edema because it will make these conditions worse. Muscle loss happens when you lose weight and don't exercise, so ALL Diets lead to muscle loss! It does NOT cause Kidney Disease, that is a load of bullocks! Do you plan on taking this for the rest of your life? Well yes, just like Diabetics have to take Metformin for the rest of their lives. Herbs do not cure Diabetes. @@SpamMouse I just made some corrections on the first post. I am actually at 177.5 but to answer your question. I am on medical social security and I am not supposed to lift over 10 lbs not even 5 lbs consecutively. Exercise will happen if or when my doctors clear me. As my weight comes down I have been able to do little projects around my home since being on Doctor Berg's program. I also take a number of vitamins per his video suggestions. I am planning to ad berberine. It is not likely that I can ever hold down another job for medical reasons. My last job last 32.8 years so I feel I have done enough. i think when talking about side effects it’s important to mention the likelihood of actually having said side effect. although most of these GLP-1’s have a black boxed warning for thyroid cancer, this was only observed in animal model studies and not in humans. of course if you have risk factors associated with thyroid cancer, then it’s important to monitor. great video, im just wary of people scaring patients because of potential side effects.

I love your videos. I also take Ozempic for severe insulin resistance. I work with a very knowledgeable bariatric doctor who combines this drug with a low carb diet and intermittent fasting. I have no noticeable side effects. I’m getting good results with the program I’m on at .50 of the normal prescribed dose. I ramped up very slowly to this over a few months to avoid the side effects some people get. My doctor explained to me that this is a genetic problem and I may have to stay on the drug long term. This has given me back my life. I can see this drug being a problem in the wrong hands. It’s very important to have a doctor that really understands the science and will guide you. I am no longer obese. I cannot tell you how much I tried prior to this and failed and how grateful I am to have a doctor that understands my issue and is willing to work with me

Hi Dr. Berg. I think one piece of the puzzle is the nutrients. Some people eat to find the missing nutrient or vitamin to fill the void. I found Fish Oil (Omega 3) was something that also will help. A balanced diet is good as long as you find the nutrients/vitamins that may be missed.

Definitely truth in this. I didn't realise I had pernicious anaemia and was really deficient in B12. During that time I had a raging appetite and wanted to eat all the time. This dissipated once I got diagnosed and was given B12 loading shots. My body was urging me to eat more and more, desperately trying to get more B12.

Whenever I went to the dr they just looked at me like I was lying that I was trying to lose weight. I had to ask my dr to check for insulin resistance. I started keto, IF, and berberine. With a lil cheating the first month I still lost 12 lbs.

But I respectfully suggest that you bin the body-fat-scales and focus on keto AND exercise then measure progress with looser fitting clothes as loosing fat but building denser muscle will mean the weight will be the same while you are looking better and better. Aim for 20% body fat as a goal, google images.

I was wondering whether you had put out a video about this and here it is! I have considered taking the shot several times but for some reason I always change my mind. I have been taking Berberine for almost a year (approved by my PCP) and I’ve lost about 10 pounds and my A1C dropped from 6.4 to 5.7. He had wanted me to start Metformin and I asked if instead of Metformin I take Berberine. He was shocked when he saw the results and told me to keep doing what I’m doing. Also, this has been without me making any changes to my exercise or diet. But I do eat low carb (ish) for the most part. I could definitely do better in that regard.

Insurers are getting very partiular about not giving Ozempic for weight loss alone (at least here in Vermont).

I was on ozempic for 3 months and didn't lose weight. I was taking it for pcos and IR. The last time that I upped my dosage, everything went haywire. I was dehydrated and would go to the bathroom about 20-30 times a day. And guess what? It lasted 5 weeks!! I'm blessed that my boss allowed me to work from home during that time. When I reached out to my doctor, he told me to leave ozempic for 3 weeks and then try again. Like THAT was my concern. I needed to stop my bathroom trips and he finally listened and gave me chronic diarrhea meds. They helped but it still took 5 weeks for me to get better. Worst experience ever and now, I weigh 15 lbs MORE than when I started. I feel so powerless.
