- I grew up with glasses, 5.00 diopter high myopia, and yet today have 20/20 natural eyesight. No surgery, no glasses, I figured out how myopia actually works and how to reverse it (and no, not eye exercises!) The mainstream tells you it's impossible - but the whole concept that myopia is an illness, is complete unscientific nonsense (a 100 billion dollar a year profitable nonsense, though).

I finally caught up on all your videos, took me about a week. I found your website over Easter coincidentally right before I was going to get my eyes mapped for PRK. I had finished almost all of the paperwork to get it through my work. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for saving me from that, and for putting so much time into this.
I'm currently seeing at -5.5 left -4.0 right. I don't have any specific questions yet as I'm still looking into some of the finer points of starting out.
I'm starting to go out for walks and trying to focus on distant signs and wildlife, It's only been a week though. I did jump the gun and ordered a set of glasses for close up work/video games. I got an optometrist from LensCrafters on board (with getting glasses for close up work, I didn't mention reversing myopia). The glasses will be -4.75 left -3.25 right and I think it will be enough for now.
Just a couple of comments on the videos so far (just my opinion):
- The background noise seems fine to me.
- The music during the vlogs is a little loud, or your voice recording is a bit quiet. I'm just looking for a balance between those.
- The beard was not a bad look. You should grow it back.
- I vote keep the focus on the practical advice. The short vlogs are great too especially since they are places many of us have never been.
Sorry for the long comment, thanks again.
Thanks for the feedback!
How's your vision now
Very helpful video. thanks Jake.
Thanks for this helpful videos Jake, it has been beneficial, God bless!
Perfectly cool, Jake.
I use my differential for all of my indoor except for reading my phone, for which I don't use any correction (most of the time).
What progress have you had?
@@jjmadethelesson2564 I've removed astigmatism correction from all lenses. I only had a small amount. I believe since 4 years ago I dropped the differential another 1 diopter or so. I think they are at 1.75 and might need an adjustment soon. I still don't read my phone with lenses. I'll have to say that I don't do a good job of minimizing screen time and I don't have a regular practice of the techniques. But I do still active focus and such. So I'd say my progress isat least stable and possibly incrementally improving. It's not been my focus lol for a while as I have had many life changes and stresses. I will never go back to what it was before though, for sure. And always have these tools at hand.
Nothing wrong with a casual environment. Adds a degree of realism to it IMO. Whatever works!
Did it work for you?
Can confirm that at 2.25 (just went down another 0.25!) I do not need correction for reading or using my phone at all. I also do not often wear correction when cooking. It's just a bit of blur and is comfortable. Sometimes my eyes even feel like they are adjusting to have no blur while cooking if the lighting is good enough.
HeavyMetalJess Currently I have -2.25 myopia and I'm fine while reading without my glasses.
I have -3.00 and I don't use glasses for reading
hv -3.50 and i dont use glasses for reading
Did your eyes improve? Please tell :-)
So, how are is your journey now?
Video background noise was fine, until you got to the end and the vehicle exhaust blew my eardrums! When you are talking it also helps cancel out the background noise. So would prefer more content like this rather than be put off from doing it.
What is the minimum reading distance that you should see with closeups so that you don't reduce too many diopters from your prescription. How close to the face should the text be maximum? Is 28 cm/11 inches too close to start with (if I can only see there without blur)? One place said it should be 9-13 inches and another 40-50 cm.
Awesome ride
For closeup work should i wear glasses that give me that allow me to work 20/20?
Hey if I have minus 3.75number then I should use how much corrective positive reading glasses on my contact lenses for closeup work
this was super helpful! answered my questions. thumbs up.
i have -5. 00 in my left eye and -4. 75 in right.. how do i get my differentials.... are they meant to be in + or - only.
please tell me
. i am in 10 class and very much confused with this....and these online classes are terrifying me
@@nehalsharma3498 Hi Nehal. Your differentials will be - lenses just like the ones you're wearing now (not + lenses). - lenses are for nearsighted individuals, or individuals with myopia. Are you following the free guide from Endmyopia? That will help you determine what prescription to get for your differentials.
@@nehalsharma3498 What online classes are you referring to?
tbh i have a qns about differentials or 'computer glasses' since i have myopia of -8 diopters, do you suggest having lesser diopters glasses/ computer glasses e.g. -7.5. or -7.75 diopters since getting these glasses can be costly...
Hey Jake,
I just started 2 weeks ago and my vision has significantly improved. My centimeter results have increased by 5 cm. Thank you for this awesome video and extremely helpful website. You'll probably hear from me quite often as I'm looking forward to have my first reduction very soon. anyway thanks again :)
What did you do to achieve this? All outdoors, or indoors? How long spent without glasses?
Uhm I can say that my parents are a tad stingy so I had to find a way that is cheapest one or even a free one at least for the start(I thought after they witness my improvement they would be willing to help me) So I went back to my older glasses which was 0.50 weaker than the current one. I figured out how active focus works in a couple of days. I tried to spend my every bit of outdoor time focusing at distant objects and spent about 2-3 hours outdoors every day. Last but not least I used differentials for computer and other close-up usage. I'm just at the beginning, hoping to have 20/20 vision. And my hope is getting stronger every day :) Good luck
Oh and I don't use my glasses for first 30 mins of the day in the mornings.
Bora Thanks. Have been logging my close up for last month and worst has been 16cm right eye (17cm left) which was at night. Best has been 21cm right eye (23cm left) which was in the morning. So looking at that I guess I could also say there is 5 -6cm improvement. But if I look at averages over that month, then there is only a 3-4 cm improvement.
Guess I need to active focus and spend more time outside. Lucky summer is on the way.
I was just surprised at how fast your eyes seemed to have improved.
Aw, it's really nice to hear it from you ^^. I am sure your improvement rate will also speed up very soon. Unfortunately, I have been using crutches during this 2-week period because of a broken ankle and couldn't really go outdoors as I wanted. As you said summer is on the way, yayy! Cheers!
I have- 5 i do active focus without glasses? Will my eyes improve?
Why do suggest not wearing glasses at all for first 20 mins of the day which will put people in blur, if being in blue is not that useful?
I have a question. I recently received my -6 glasses from my previous -4. I'm wondering which glasses I should be using during school. I'm can't see the board too clearly with my -4 glasses but I feel like -6 would be too much. I don't have -5 diopters glasses either.
Learn about blur horizon and active focus on endmyopia.org. ;)
I've reduced 2 diopters for differentials
+endmyopia hey im just wondering if its possible to fix astigmatisme i suffer from it and because of that i see double/tripple just curious. i wonna get it fix in the long run even if it take 2/3 years would be cool to know you opinion.
There's a whole section on endmyopia.org dedicated to just astigmatism.
2:42 Differential (Close-up) & Normalized (Distance Vision) meaning
The last time I visited the opermerist my eye tested the same in both eyes-0.75,_1.25 but my Left eye is weaker normally,I have been doing active focus for some months and things clear up for some seconds but no permanent improvement, every morning I wake my eyes are the same, what'sthe problem here? thanks
Any improvements?
Hi jake, your Q&A in your hotel room is ok. Have a question here, I'm personally wearing 1.75 lenses for almost a year now, I was 2.50 at beginning. I have my eyes checked a month ago and the opto told me my vision is now 2.0. My question is this, how long should I wear differential lenses and how will I know I can proceed to my next differential adjustment. I'm planning to stop when I reach 1.00 diopter.
I only do case specific support in the forum. Everything else here is DIY. ;)
ok thanks!
I personally do it when I get able to read 20/15 line but you can find a different method as well.
@@boraozkan7015 Ok thanks, so I'll stick with my present glasses for a while then.
Oh no! I can't wear my distance glasses indoors they're -6 and really hurt my eyes, I take them off and walk around in blur and find relief, what should I do then I'm used to the blur????? I'm only on day 2 of the email 7 day guide so forgive my ignorance
@Always 1 Thank you, I've been accepting blur now for a few years whilst in the house, luckily it doesn't affect me by getting me depressed. I only have clarity if I look close up at things and also quick blink that does help. I'd rather not have blur though I'll plow on with all the info on endmyopia blog and hope for clear days at some point.
@Always 1 Aw, thank you so much for your advice, yes I'm trying to look out of my window at distant houses trees and nature in general as I do my usual things. I'm so glad I found this channel and the endmyopia blog, I'm so excited to start my journey :-)
Look up “ergonomic,” and you’ll know what “ergonomically-comfortable distance” means. 🙃
easy solution, just move the laptop further away like a couple of inches or bring it closer, no need to change diopters...only when reaching the edge of the desk then switch to new differential, that's for the comfort part. yes, no, thoughts?
I have also been thinking what if I just don't use a computer but only a phone or a book, do I need differentials even if I am highly myopic
Doesn’t matter what you use, as long as you’re comfortable and the most important, that you read at the edge of blur
Jake, I have a question, hope you reply to it, my prescribed lenses are -2.75, so how do i chose my differential lenses... how much should I reduce?
Osin Shahi You should be able to see at least 20/30 (for distance) if it's your first reduction, 20/40 for reductions after according to jake's blog
@@jayzee2634 thank you
@@jayzee2634 My doctor just gave me a .5 reduction from each eye down to -1.25 -1.5. Just now checked the Snellen chart and my vision is 20/20... He will not go lower. I thought this would give me a blur challenge at 20 feet but it doesn't.
How's your vision now? Did your eyesight improve? Please please reply :-)
@@paramjeetthakkar7088 its effective if that is what you are worried about, just need dedication and discipline to go through it, all the best
you are always on the run, are all the optometrists chasing you ?😁
Not on the run. I don’t even do cardio.
