@@johnorleans6814 Danny. The Savardian Spinarama! Rapier like fashion! A shot of ENORMOUS magnitude! lol He was awesome.
All of us die hard Leaf fans knew when we gathered around the TV set to watch this Semi Final game 1, that the Buds chances of defeating the Hab's were practically nil. But it was completely OK, for just days earlier the Leaf's had won their own Stanley Cup; spiritually speaking of course. Their victory over the Islanders was and remains to this day one of the greatest moments in hockey history for Leaf fans; certainly post 1967. The Gods of Hockey had elevated Palmateer to secular sainthood and we were all just simply enthralled to be witnessing the first meeting of the Leafs and Habs in the playoffs since the 67 expansion.
When the Habs were like their own All Star team. Shutt, LaFleur, Robinson, Savard, LaPointe, Lemaire, Dryden, Gainey, Cournoyer. Lafleur had 60 goals and 72 assists that year!
Great memories, even love the commercials.
the end of an era. the rivalry. rinks free of adverts. the Forum. Doucet for the anthem. Gallivan/Irving combo. NHL theme song. all the great players who would become hall of famers, some legends. games of speed and finesse, and more. hockey has not been the same since.
Just three nights after being knocked out by the Leafs, Chico Resch was able to do the color beside Danny G. Great to hear his comments and insight.
resch wasa jealous hater of the superior teamthat reschs' team could NEVER
Dick Irvin Jr is the greatest hockey tv journalist
back in the day No other channel did hnic better than cbc
As a goalie, I get a kick out of watching Palmateer play. Holy cow, the guy was all over the place!
@ 4:51...I wonder if I can still get a copy of "The Magic Organ!"
Palmateer and Dryden both wore the number 29. Interesting.
A young Randy Carlyle, future Norris Trophy winner.
He had too much upside potential, so the Leafs had to trade him or else risk making their team better.
The Leafs were good in 78 but ran into a dynasty.
Good game November 2 2019
I want that Magic Organ record! lol no, not really.
if Palmateer was the size of Dryden it would have helped.....he was so little but fast.
or if Palmateer had Dryden's defense in front of him
Boy we all miss them days, when men were men and women were women! It sucks to live in these confused times.
What happen to college football team Miami hurricanes full documentary episodes can you return it on you tube it will be nice to put back on you tube ok thank you
No better team then the 70’s Canadians, it’s not even close! They had all the best French cdn player’s available, because back then they only went to Montreal.
Lafleaur was my favourite of all time, he had it all!
Wait a minute...@1:31:04 Ford is trying to tell us that a Granada is as nice as a Mercedes or a Caddy? GTF outta here with that BS!

Nobody could sing O Canada like Roger Doucet. The women they have nowadays are just terrible. Sing it the way it's written, PLEASE!
