You're Welcome and keep posting! Love seeing classic playoff hockey games no matter who was playing...fun stuff!! With no live games for a while yet( we'll see how it goes later on ), nothing wrong with watching back some of playoffs of years past. And I'm one fan who might not have seen all those playoff games from way back in the '80s so I'll definitely enjoy seeing any of those maybe...! :-)
yeah this is awesome I've heard of it but 1st time seeing it cause i was born in 1987 in calgary i went to the stanley in 1989 when calgary flames won it that was a great team too
I was 12 and wrote up all the scores of the semifinals and finals on a piece of paper on my wall because I knew that Roy and Co. could do it. I may never get back to that feeling again, but I thank you for this! 🏒
@@bc1173 Oh how I wish. I live in the rotten liberal, hot as hell, sewer called Central California. Why would you think I was from Calgary just because I love their uniforms?
This was probably the greatest underdog team the Canadiens team of all time. A few aging HOFs, some up and coming talent and with some European flavor and probably the most fascinating Canadiens team. People say that they dodged the Oilers, well when Steve Smith put the puck in his teams' own net there was still plenty of time left. If the Oilers won and faced the Canadiens, I think the Oilers would've squeaked by the Canadiens in 7.
Thank you very much been wanting this game for a long time now. Any chance you might upload some conference championship game clinchers fro the 1980's and 90's and Game 6 of the 2001 Cup Finals abd Gane 6 of the Campbell Conf Finals from 1993 please. Take care.
1:48:30, what a wild sequence with under a minute remaining. Vernon robbing McPhee on a breakaway leading to a golden chance to tie it for Calgary which Roy stopped.
NHL Playoffs Archive: Thanks for the games...keep 'em coming! Anyone: Does anyone know which network this game was broadcast on? I can't seem to find any on-screen graphics that would give me an answer. Thanks in advance!
Wow, the skill level is barely ECHL, but these guys are super tough! Every board battle is a mugging, lol. Elbows, headshots, hooks, slashes, vicious cross checks... Very impressed w Loob; he's a modern day style player.
Chelios gets crosschecked at 1:48:46, if Calgary would have scored, Montreal should have killed the ref. Also, Carbonneau gets slashed really hard at 1:39:30. Calgary should have been killing a penalty at the end of the game. It shouldn't have been that close of a score at the end.
It really was a different time back then. That slash might get you thrown out of the game today and I don’t know what’s more impressive, the fact it wasn’t called or the fact that Carbaneau just kept going without trying to sell it.
JD says an equal amount of congrats to Calgary? I know the announcer sucks up, I get it, but they lost 4 games to 1. This wasn't game 7, plus, even if the Habs lost, they go back home. And don't forget it was 4 - 1 late in the third, just a couple of break downs. JD, stop (Lol;Hahaha). God Bless!!
After 34 years, I finally watched some of the '86 playoff games on CZcams....with even more disgust and suspicion that I did back then. Goddamn refs were SO against the Oilers, and the Flames exploiting the newly-created fight-instigator rule that let them pound on Gretzky and Kurri, etc. Commentators at beginning of '85-'86 were predicting a Habs win. Hmmmm……..
Ya ya, we know, the leafs should have won half a dozen or more cups since 67, but,,,,,they havent. bupkiss, nada, zip , zero, THE COLLAPSE, all just point to a big fat ZERO.
The Nontreal team was no joke that year. They had the best goalie of the league and forwards like Corson, Richer, Naslund, Smith,Walter . Toronto would have still loose.
Thanks guys, I appreciate it! I'm gonna try to upload more now after the pandemic has taken away the things that entertain us the most.

last time two canadien team meet in a stanley cup final
@@pellelindbergh4455 The last time was in 1989, when these two teams met again.
I was 12 and wrote up all the scores of the semifinals and finals on a piece of paper on my wall because I knew that Roy and Co. could do it. I may never get back to that feeling again, but I thank you for this! 🏒
Brought back a tonne of memories!
Thanx for posting.
These two teams still have the greatest looking uniforms in the NHL.
you're from calgary arent you?

Mike Vermin wasn't so good in 86 but he made up for it in 89.

Lanny gets his revenge in 89
At 1:53:6 I love the interaction between Nilan and Fotiu.
Fotiu wasn't on the ice at 1:53 and Nilan didn't play in this game at all as he was out with an injury

Montreal is lucky the Leafs got eliminated early.
