This short video is a short tutorial of the issue when motor audibly turns but the locomotive no longer moves.
Fleischmann had those gears available and they come in two or three different tooth numbers.
I will post several videos here on this channel on how to troubleshoot and repair these old HO Scale treasures from Fleischmann, Roco, Trix, Röwa, Jeouf, Lima and the East German Locos.
I will also make a tutorial on how to go Digital on a Shoestring budget simply with a Laptop / PC and a raspberry pi with amplifier incorporating ESU Lok Pilot Decoder

I have a loco that skips gears when there are too many wagons, this night be the problem. The gear does have a "line" in the middle, I do have a 1950's loco that has been reduced to a parts loco and The gear looks better, if i can find it I might have to use that one or try to buy a fleischmann gear somewhere.

      Hi John,
I have been trying to make a narrated video on this topic, but my schedule hasn’t gone that way yet!
Fleischmann / Roco sells them on their Website
      www.fleischmann.de/fde/ersatzteile?et=00564603
This is the one with 12 teeth
      The other ones are discontinued
I have 30 here in Kansas City and could spare 1 for US$ 10.00 including first class shipping without tracking
Cashap $peapvp please include shipping info

@@fleischmann_rowa_roco_ho I understand all to well, will wait and see how you get on, I’ve tried super glue but that didn’t work. I’ve got a gear puller so will take it off clean it and try again

@@MrJohnNel I read in a german forum, one can make the gear diameter (for the motor axle) that bit smaller necessary for a stronger, better hold by hammering gently with round-ended pin. One has to be very careful! When it already looks a tiny bit smaller you have to put it back on the axle. It worked for me, since then the pinion gear hold firmly.

That's a risky but good idea, I bought a scrap locomotive off eBay and swapped it@@sebastianfernandez3974

@@sebastianfernandez3974 i would not mess with the axle. ,, better make 3 indentions with a punch.
or get the later brass gear, they fit much tighter
