- She finally got another motorcycle and not just any bike but an off-road capable dual sport!
Alexis is loving her new crf230L and has already taken it on a few dual sport adventures and is growing her riding capabilities almost every day! I hope you guys are looking forward to plenty of dual motorcycle vlogs coming your way!

I own a 2008 CRF230L. I love it. I'm sure you know the standard mods you'll want, hand guards, skid plate, luggage rack. XR's only smog delete. Re-jet the carb this bike comes extremely lean from the factory. I'm sorry to say that the aftermarket upgrades are limited for this bike but there's enough stuff out there. My favorite upgrade is the 12 o'clock labs tail light. You kids make a GREAT looking couple! wishing you the best

My wife's first dual sport bike was/is also a CRF230L. Out of all of her bikes, it's her go to, favorite and has been everywhere off road. We will never sell it. Cool fun fact, her bike was used in the movie Killing of A Sacred Deer!
Hell yeah! Love to see another 230 owner on CZcams! I love the CRF230F that I have! So much fun and so much torque! To give it more power rejet the carb, get an aftermarket exhaust, and remove the snorkel from the air box! It definitely makes it more peppy. Also if u want to update its look alittle bit, put the 2019 CRf230 front fender on it! It looks so much better

What a SCORE! You did excellent on the CRF230L. Wife had one back a few years ago. I spent some time on it. They're great little bikes. Hope Alexis has a ton of fun on it!

I have a 230f. The 230s are said to be one of hondas most bulletproof engines. They take a beating no doubt
That is a fact! I have heard nothing but great things about them.
In the 90s I had a (quite new at the time) '94 XR200R. It seemed to be almost identical to the CRF230F except that it had a kick starter instead of electric start. The only issue I ever had was getting the rear drum brake to do right. I tried getting a better feel out of it by shortening the cable but then it would lock up on me too easy. Never did get it just like I wanted it. Fun bike though. It had the same low first gear like the 230. That comes in handy on the trail.
On my way to pick up my 1st 230l AS WE SPEAK. I am barely 5 feet tall and relieved that she is too. After trying every dual sport at a store yesterday and coming home discouraged because I was too short for all of them, this used Crf230l 5 hours away is my last option. Hubby got a crf250l last night. I need to keep up! According to you guys, perhaps I can (kick his ass)! Thanks!!!! Love all of your vids!! Will keep watching you guys!! From Ohio - mahalo!
I have a KLX250 with road tyres. Lots of fun around town and also fun on single track roads in the hills. Hope you enjoy your new bike. A 250cc dual purpose is a great 2nd (or 3rd bike) to have in your garage. You don't need a GS1200 to have fun on single track roads.

Sweet purchase. I just scored an '08 230L and LOVE it. Sold my '21 300L and '22 Trail 125 but won't sell the 230L. Awesome bike
My GF actually started with a 250L as her first dual sport...and then she also got an older CRF230 for more true trail riding. It keeps the KX250f and CRF250L from getting beat up on the trails haha

Right on, great bike for her! The 230L really is an excellent dual sport! I wanted to buy one about eight years ago, but couldn't find one in good enough shape for the right price. I ended up getting an XR250R to use as my dirt bike, and a DR650 as my street bike.
Oh by the way, since you like to wheelie, you should try it on an XR250R that's been uncorked/jetted with an fmf pipe. No need to yank the bars, just hit the gas!

Well of course the L is a little heavier than an XR, but I know it's light and nimble enough to handle some very rugged trails. I've seen guys in Colorado riding the CRF230L's on some incredibly challenging mountain terrain, and they did just fine. Seeing them do that years ago is what made me want to get one; it's street legal but it will also do that?, was my thinking. Anyway, hope to see more of the one you just got in future videos!

I have a 250L and my wife has a 230M (supermoto version of the 230L). The 230l/M is definitely quicker than the 250L. IMO the biggest downside of the 230L/M is that it was only out for a year so there aren't a lot of aftermarket parts. I couldn't find a larger aftermarket gas tank so we have to bring a Rotopax for longer trips. Also there is no oil filter, only a strainer. Great vid. Happy riding!

Hey, thats my bike! I just got one in January, about double the miles but not quite as good a deal! This bike seems fun, I wanna see what she picks out to make it her own. I'm keeping mine pretty stock/simple thus far, but had to get some hand guards, grips, and new tires. However, the turn signals and mirrors are not what sells the bike, that's for sure.

get a FMF pipe and K&N air filter. Change to synthetic oil. Nice bike good deal good condition low miles. FYI the Yamaha XT250 dual sport bikes have a 32 inch seat height and weigh only 285 pounds. If interested everyone go with Yamaha XT250 year 2014 and up when they went Fuel injection. Off road is funner than riding the street in my opinion. You dont need alot of CC for the dirt. 230 and 250 is fine. Have a good time

I had a neighbor with a CRF230F (off road only) version, and he removed the center silencer thing from the muffler. It sounded really good I thought. Don't know if the spark arrestor came out with it though...

Wow! How fortunate are you, having a girlfriend to ride along! That is the best luck of all! Here in my country ( Brazil) the CRF 230 can not be ridden in the street, only in trails ( no turn signals, etc..). We had the CRF 250 L like yours only for two years, I believe in 2012-13 only. But before we had until 2008 the XR250, and I own one exactly from this year. Interestingly , I did the same as you did, only that I went far away by plane to another state with every chance to be screwed, but as was in your case, the bike was perfect with only 1.700 miles on it! It has the same colours as this CRF 230, and has also a carburettor ,,, but as a matter of fact I do not see a big difference in comparison with my other, efi bike. Anyway, the year was 2010, and I rode back home that little beast right way, 600 miles ( I took a rest at night mid-way in a hotel, and in early morning, after a good breakfast, was ready to go again)! The only downside of these fun bikes is the hard seat, which i had discovered by the time after every 70 miles or so, hahaha!
Well, I still own it and it still makes me smile in the city or the dirty.

I almost got a 230 but then found the tw200 and never lookedback . But the honda ain't a bad bike.
I took my learner's course on a tw200 I love those little bikes!

Awesome bike! Really happy for Alexis! She'll get a lot of smiles per mile on that 230. Basically a XR200 engine stroked I think. They will last pretty much for ever I still have a pair of XR200's and they work well, bullet proof for sure. The only thing you have to look out for is the cam chain stretching from revving the piss out of them. Of course, this takes a long time, so she'll be fine... Looking forward to her making it the way she wants it. And man, did you guys come up my way to buy that thing? You should have let me know, I would have taken you two out to lunch!

Those wheelies are tough on the transmission the chain and the sprockets they will not last half as long.
I've found quite the opposite! If used correctly they are excellent tools. We have practiced them a few times but she definitely needs more. Wheelies are my thing lol one of my many joys of riding. Thanks for watching!

@@AdventureDaily I've got a 1996 xr250r think it's around 102-106kg dry. Just has a small headlight and small red light on top of the back mud guard no battery that's it so basic.
