    My 2002 Sienna needed the other doors closed and "locked" in order to go into programming mode, but the rest of the steps were the same. Make sure to program all the remotes at the same time, because every time the vehicle goes into programming mode creates a new code, and your older remotes wont work anymore. Thanks for sharing your video.

    Do you think the setting in the car for the key pairing has something to do with it too?

    Thank you, but it deleted my old fob also, but it works out anyways because the XLE Sienna came with slide door openers which I deleted but inadvertently would slide them open as I walked away when I put my keys in my pocket.

    I bought a used 02 Sienna and it came with a basic three button fob. If I buy a four button remote with the trunk release, will that feature work? (Couldn’t find answers elsewhere)
    Thank you

      It just depends on your vehicles options - whether or not it has the power hatch option installed. I would call a toyota dealership with your VIN number. Speak with their part's department - ask them to look up if your vehicle has the keyless entry remote option then ask how many buttons the remote should have on it.

    Every thing was ok ,but on 2000 Sienna you have to turn the key on twice to go to programming mode

    How can I tell if my new-to-me 2002 Sienna CE is programmable? I was thinking they all came with the ability. It came with some kind of generic locksmithed key copy, but I just cut an OEM (non-chip) key for it (which works). I bought an OEM remote transmitter and I can't seem to get into programming mode when performing these operations.

    • @PYR-Auto
      @PYR-Auto  Před 4 lety

      The easiest way to tell if your Sienna is set-up for factory remotes is to take your VIN number and call a Toyota Dealership. Speak with their parts department, they can look up the original build sheet for the vehicle and see if it has the factory remote option or not.

      @@PYR-Auto last night I physically checked for the wireless door lock control receiver and the van has one. So I proceeded to try more. I even watched Speedkar99's video on remote programming (same procedure) and did the operations at the exact same time while watching him... still not working. I'm gonna guess that the unit or wiring to it might be bad, but in the past I apparently skipped downloading the diagnostics for the wireless door lock control section of the repair manual through a $20 3 day Sub to Toyota's repair information site. Kicking myself now. Any ideas for me besides spending another 20 to find that diagnostic info? The Haynes manual for the van doesn't go into much detail on the wireless door control system at all.

I have 2003 Toyota sienna with mobility ramp, my old remote key fob did not work so I bought and replaced a battery in the key, but then it wont work anymore. Tried pairing it, but still not working. Went to 2 Toyota dealerships, but they cant figure it out even after diagnosing. we just payed, but didn't even work.

      @PYR-Auto  Před 4 lety

      You can use a used remote but it needs to be the correct one for an 01 sienna. Even if you had no remotes present, you should still be able to get the vehicle into programming mode, if the vehicle is set-up for factory keyless remotes.

      @@PYR-Auto it had one but the ring connector broke , now i cant find the guts to it or i would just swap the guts to the new one...will try again to get to program mode and they look just alike but the one i found had a trunk button instead of a sliding door button..

      I'm sure you have already tried multiple times, but some vehicles are much more sensitive than others in regards to the speed in which the procedure is done. I would recommend trying the procedure again, but vary you speed(faster or slower) It can take just the right speed for some vehicles to enter programming mode . Also, between attempts, take your key out of the ignition and open and close your door a few times before starting again to "reset" before trying the procedure again. If you are still unable to get the vehicle into programming mode, it is possible there is an issue with your vehicle and you may need to seek professional assistance.
