Short game legend Phil Mickelson demonstrates the three basic keys of how to hit more consistent chip shots. Foresight Golf 512 E Blanco Rd # 100 Boerne, TX 78006 (830) 249-7528 www.ForesightGolf.net
I know one thing, will never chip with the ball centered again!!! Very simple easy way too learn it from one of the Best in the game. If not the Best!!! Thanks Phil ⛳🎯
This video has turned me into a confident chipper. I don't even think about thinning or chunking it anymore. I can't believe it is so simple! Thanks, Phil!
For me as well! Confidence in chipping. Literally a few days after watching this and one range session of practice, I played a round and chipped in 2 holes back to back! From about 20-30 yards. Other chip shots were good quality ones (may not be right distance depending on lie but never chunk/blade).
Some youtube pro's spend 15 minutes telling you how to do something that can be explained in a minute. Phil is a master of getting to the point without a ton of verbage that only drags out the lesson. Thanks!!!
Im not sure I've ever had such an immediate result to my game by watching a 3min video. This is so clear and concise, golf instructional videos have become too long and drawn out and gives way too much information to retain all the way to the practice tee . More like this please.
That helped a ton!! I learned chipping of the back foot and didn't understand why the ball flight was so low, thought I needed a wedge with more loft..
This video is nuggets! I've been playing golf now for 8 months and my short game is fiyah because of these tips. And of course... all the practice put in
Perfect. Can't wait to put it to the test- been struggling with my chipping out of nowhere- usually the best part of my game. Nothing like advice from the short game king himself
No bombastic technical instructions. Crisp , clear and so easily explained and followed up by simple execution of the chip shot .No wonder he is right up there !
I remember before this video i couldnt figure out how to chip to save my life, watched this, went out the next day and it was insane the difference. These tips are great.
Best golf advice video I ever saw. Straight to the point with all the right tips and from one of the best to ever do it. So many golf videos are not nearly as helpful yet the host rambles like I did on my school essays to reach a certain word count
It took me 30 years to watch this video, boy am I stupid! But I’ve got it now and wow does it feel good to at long last be a confident chipper. Thanks Phil!
As a lefty I’ve always loved Phil. Are there any more of these quick tip videos, this was flipping awesome. I’m chipping like monster comparatively speaking compared to what I was previously doing!
Watched this video ONCE on a Friday, tried these steps 2 days later and I was amazed I was able to chip SO MUCH BETTER. I even showed my pal and he did much better too (and later shared this video). Phil - you are a great teacher and THANK YOU!
Would love to spend a week with Phil it would bound to helpful to anyone's game but I will definitely take on board his tips in the video as he's a short game genius
So glad I found these videos , I played today and made par on hole 4 a par 4 hole after my first two shots I was on a hill 10’ from the pin , I took my third shot a chip shot I popped it up beautifully but as I was apprehensive it was short and landed higher on the same hill ,I chipped my 4 th shot it landed 3 ‘ from the pin and rolled in Thanks Phil for teaching me the correct methods of chipping 👍👍
Thank you for clear concise video which everyone can use . Most other videos give you white noise and unrealistic standards that don’t apply to a normal golfer . Thank you Phil !
1:37 Yes try it! I did tonight and I've never experienced such results from blueprint to reality. I'm 25 handicap and still managed to chip exactly as wanted by following Phil's simple three rules. Highly recommended!!
Played golf for over 60 years. This is quite frankly one of the single BEST videos I have ever watched. Thanks Phil. BTW....Loved playing Grayhawk last year !!!
Wow, great tip. My middle catch hole in my practice net is now full of chipped balls. So many videos are all talk, maybe one shot shown, yours is the perfect balance of tell me/show me. Thank you.
I was at the 151 Open at Royal Liverpool GC to do some media coverage. I used to do a lot of filming but as a written media this time I did nothing but watch and feel. On Friday Phil was practising at the chipping ground in front of the media centre, and I just stood there watching his chip shot without doing anything else. The feeling was super unreal and I still couldn't believe it was actually happening: The other top players just chipped the balls here and there, but Phil managed to put almost EVERY ball next to the flagstick! No matter if it was a low shot high shot bouncing shot, EVERY ball next to the hole! I still can vividly remember that scene and probably I'll never forget it. Just unbelievable.
Saw this clip about 3weeks ago. Literally a few days after watching this and one range session of practice, I played a round and chipped in 2 holes back to back! From about 20-30 yards. Other chip shots were good quality ones (distance may not be right depending on the lie but no more chunk/blade).
FINALLY !!!! ... a clear & concise presentation on what has been for me, the most frustrating part of the game .... and, what Phil said in under 3 minutes WORKS !!!
I've been watching golf tip videos constantly for over 2 years and this is the single best, most helpful one I've come across. I do those 3 religiously now and never chunk or thin my chips. Thanks Phil!
i've been using his short game methods for several years also with great results. i found his book at a rummage shop and the youtube videos, both good.
I purchased a 60 wedge and executed this today. It worked perfectly with zero practice. Had zero chips land too short and only one went 10 feet beyond cup awesome thanks Phil!
If you can get this down and flop shots the 60 becomes an absolute machine. my 52 and 56 dont see as much action as my 60, round dependent of course but in general
@@ad8110 I have moved away from the 60 and use primarily a 50, 54, 58. I do have a 64 but don't typically keep it in the bag. I loaned my 60 to a friend last year, he still has it. I was able to shoot two even par rounds, several +2 rounds, and one round -2 under par. I do like the 60 but I find I can get it done with the 54 most of the time and the 58 if i really need a lot of loft.
I tried this the day I went golfing, and almost holed 3 shots with this! A 50-60 yard pitch shot on the first hole, a chip shot on a par 3, and an 87 yard uphill pitch shot with a 7 iron.
The key to the short game is simple, practice. I worked as a club pro in my 20s, and it was amazing how few people actually practiced their short game. They'd hit 2 buckets of drivers on the range, and then drive right past the chipping and putting greens. If you just put in a couple hours a week on short game practice, your scores will PLUMMET. (and it'll help your long game too btw)
It's really true... practice and the shots get easier no matter what technique you use. Then, as you develop your skill, you can hone in on technique more
I wish more golf videos were like this one. Brief, to the point, clear visual, perfect! Too many videos in all subjects with rambling hosts.
Spot on!
I'm going to try this :)
I just started playing golf and this is the best video I've seen. No bullshit just on the subject.
I know one thing, will never chip with the ball centered again!!! Very simple easy way too learn it from one of the Best in the game. If not the Best!!! Thanks Phil ⛳🎯
@@claynovak667 well exactly to the OP’s point, Rick Shiels pads his videos out with way too much chat and bullshit.
As a lefty I appreciate watching Phil because I don't have to flip everything in my head before processing it.
This video has turned me into a confident chipper. I don't even think about thinning or chunking it anymore. I can't believe it is so simple! Thanks, Phil!

You make it look so easy ❤
Awesome tips
Ayo bro you still confident?
@markgormley9692 yes. I have a system to chip distances now too.
Some youtube pro's spend 15 minutes telling you how to do something that can be explained in a minute. Phil is a master of getting to the point without a ton of verbage that only drags out the lesson. Thanks!!!
No gimmicks , no fuss, can't wait to practice this. Its just finding the time too. Short game is so fascinating but extremely important
I've been golfing for 32 years, and this video cleared up a lot of misconceptions I had about chipping....so simple now.
Phil is the best in explaining golf shots.
Im not sure I've ever had such an immediate result to my game by watching a 3min video. This is so clear and concise, golf instructional videos have become too long and drawn out and gives way too much information to retain all the way to the practice tee . More like this please.
Such a great video. This technique is very effective. We need more to the point videos like this
This was perfect. Clear and short. Looking forward to trying it today!
Perfect video! Short, simple and to the points! Thx
I love the simplicity. I think the world of Phil! Thanks
Great job Phil - concise and informative !
This dude makes the best dang videos for the simple fact he gets straight to the points and no bs. Love this Dude.
Simple, clear instruction...thanks Phil
That helped a ton!! I learned chipping of the back foot and didn't understand why the ball flight was so low, thought I needed a wedge with more loft..
Wow! and Wow! So clear and easy to understand the mechanics. Thank you!

Phil and Pat Perez straight to the point, best golf videos
Looking forward to trying this on the course. Love getting tips from the man himself!
Just started golfing last year, my friend tried to teach me this exact way. Love these tutorials
Great! Next 39 videos on chipping are 30-45 min. Love how simple he keeps it.
So glad I found this video. It’s the best lesson on chipping I’ve seen.

Master class in under 3 minutes, perfect!!
This is literally the only video I needed.. tried all this today and it was hands down my most satisfying short game practice day…
Friend suggested I watch this to help with my chipping. Can't wait to get out today and practice Phil's technique!
Best chipping video I have ever seen! Thanks.

Best chipping advice for any level of golfer. Especially for lefties. Thank you Phil! Short and sweet, right to the point. 🙏🏾👏🏾👊🏾
This video helped me so much today... I crushed it around the greens today...Thanks so much !!!!
This video is gold. It is so simple. I am chipping with a view to holing it instead of a scramble. From one lefty to another THANK YOU, PHIL.

After watching Phil's (this) video, my chipping has improved 100%. Thanks.
Nothing like tips from a legend! I will practice this

Excellent explanation and make perfect sense. I'll try and start doing that.
Thanks, Phil! will keep in mind the chipping basics.
This is the only chipping video I’ve seen that explained why you put your weight forward. Makes sense!
Have your CD’s enjoy your precise demonstrations. It’s helping. Thanks Phil

Played golf for over 60 years. This is quite frankly one of the single BEST videos I have ever watched. Thanks Phil. BTW....Loved playing Grayhawk last year !!!
We played Greyhawk. 1. It was way, way too expensive. Green fees / cart -- much too expensive... food at the turn, VERY expensive too !!!
Insane how these 3 simple steps improve your chipping dramatically !!
excited to go into chipping more confident than i already am. Have some duffs here and there and was always wondering the cause...pHIL THE GOAT

Does anyone know if he has any other short vids like this? Just love this one. So simple and to the point.
Yes
That was very helpful. I’ve always kept the ball in the middle of my stance. Not any more!
Understanding the basics through this video!

Trying this next round.
Phil you are a master of golf you make it Look so easy
I'm a lefty golfer and a visual learner. Phil killed this and I can't wait to get this form going.
so you didnt listen to him?
I agree with you
Dude I did this all day at the practice hole …. Like hitting 90 percent good ones compared to 30 percent . Awesome stuff
great video, thanks Phil.
Great tutorial! Thankyou Phil
