Perfect score in Denmark in 25 minutes, 24 seconds

An attempt at a perfect score in Denmark with no external help. An abundance of signs and a small number of towns and cities to chose from, Denmark promised to be doable, but would I be undone by the long straight roads and the 15m leeway?
Apologies for the clicking noise that has somehow made it's way onto this vid. I will get that sorted for next time.
Its a proven fact that when a dane sees a video from a non danish youtuber with ‘denmark’ in it we click

I've lived in Denmark for 21 years and I can officially say that a British guy who is horrible at pronouncing Danish city and street names knows to navigate better than me in my own country...
Whether its our Angle, Jute or Viking heritage, I think most Brits are part Danish. Maybe that helps? Probably not haha

Denmark is quite manageable, since the highways and streets (even in the countryside) are always very well labelled and organized.
Copenhagen is a mess though, compared with Oslo or Stockholm. The rest of Denmark is really organized.
Yeah the fact that the signs tells you how many kilometers you are away from other cities is also very helpful
Erik Jonsson What is it, do you think, that makes Copenhagen more confusing than Oslo and Stockholm?
Frederik Brandt Mostly the road signage (names primaraly) at the intersections. In my experience it’s a 50/50 chance that it will be places where you can read it before turning. Check out the intersection at 8 Gammel Mønt (picked randomly) if the signage is there it’s either badly places or miniscule.
It’s only a inconvenience for non-natives though. Lovley city in all other respects though.
@@erik9036 Good thing we have phones with maps !
I've never found Copenhagen confusing, Oslo though is very confusing (and ugly), and Stockholm I haven't been to yet... I've been to Malmö multiple times though as it's right across the bridge and I found it way cooler than I expected.

Never realized how many signs we have. How do people get around in other countries? Especially the lack of signage in the US baffles me.
I guess sat nav?

I'm a Dane, but I've been in Finland on exchange since January. Being born and raised in Vejle, this actually made me a little homesick.
Same! I've been living overseas in Singapore for 7 years, and having grown up in Mellerup, it did make me homesick as well!
@@saucy_syrup9208 The Mellerup one actually surprised me. Because I once held an event in Mellerup between Haderslev and Aabenraa, so I naturally thought it was that one. When he was near Randers I got so confused!

You see how flat and perfect for a straight line mission Denmark is.
Det ville bare være et problem med broerne. Så skulle det være en straight line over f.eks Jylland, hvilket ikke rigtig tæller :/

I love this format, keep it up, and dont be feeling guilty when you are not in a mood for the cam - thats all right :)
Also - I think - if you spend a grand on a PC, I would not worry to record in 1080p? It is so much pleasing to watch that way, and I'm sure the PC will handle it.

I just finished the how not to travel Europe series. It was undoubtably the best video I have ever watched on CZcams. Heartwarming, inspiring, funny, and all around entertaining. Love your geoguessr videos too. Definitely deserves millions more subscribers. Cheers m8 for the quality videos during lock down. Your channel, especially the Europe series is a bloody beautiful work of art.
The day has come! The wizard virtually visits Denmark!!
If you ever decide to do a mission across Denmark, I'd very much like to help you!
Weather it be bringing you supplies, or a bike, or perhaps even joining you for the trek, I'd be very pleased to help with whatever you need! 😁

Finally, been waiting ages!

Can't wait for your Canada video! Cheers from a big fan in Canada
I just rode on the last road three weeks ago, could see it instantly. Cool stuff this.
Come do a straight line mission, the farmers here are pretty lenient.
This was brilliant, your videos are quite entertaining my good man. And your mug is not ugly.
You know Denmark is a small country when you went past my new home in Fredericia, and the road to Nyborg I used to live on.
Thanks for the vid GW, love how you pronounce danish words :D
I really appreciate that is no spoiler in the title, I was waiting for the whole video for you to fuck up, but I was pleasantly suprised when you made a perfect score XD
Denmark would be a good contry to walk trough in a straight line.
Yes, and I guess they have similar freedom of movement laws to Sweden. That would make angry farmers less of an issue, if damage to crops etc. is avoided, compared to his experiences in Britain.
There are actually very steep hills many places, they were just not explored in this video, but yeah, quite manageable (and beautiful) on foot/bicycle.
Winter is probably a bad time though, since a lot of fields tend to be mud then.
Isak actually Denmark has a lot more strict laws against that not at all like “allemansrätten” in Sweden. But most people would probably be pretty chill about it as long as you don’t destroy crops or something like that.
@@TheGlassgubben scotland is the same you can walk anywhere pretty much, so not all of britain is like this 🤗
I'm really enjoying the perfect score videos!

Good to see you're still going with geoguessr, your channel is truly different and I find it quite relaxing! Happy to know you got a better computer now.
I love how you pronounced My homecity of Fredericia. I'll call it that from now on!
Damn, Oh-dense cracked me up 😂 For future reference it's pronounced like O-then-suh (ish)
yeah, og j’erne udtales som y’er
Yep, and Gs are commonly also a soft J/Y sound, unless they're at the start of the word
I always thought it was Oh-dense before I moved here, and family back in the UK are so confused when I pronounce it properly 😂
Fun fact: I havent met a non-native pronounce that 'o' sound correctly. Same goes for the 'o' in ko 🐮
@@Torrild challenge accepted 😉😂
I've tried the Denmark one and it was super easy as everything tends to be very well signed. Well, I do live in Denmark so ofc I have the advantage of many of places and where they are, but in reality, you can just keep reading the signs every crossroad until it points to a big enough town or city that you can easily find on the map, and it doesn't usually take long.
I love your vids especially the travel vids they are great
I was waiting for this!!
That was surprisingly fun to watch :) By the way, I live in Randers (where the bus was headed) :)

Every day I grow more convinced that Denmark is the Netherlands' long lost twin.
It is way more hilly, but other than that yes, many similarities.
Looks very similar to Ireland's scenery too although it's even more hilly here. Lots of fields for agriculture.
@@premiumaxel The average elevation of Denmark is 34 meters, whilst Netherlands is 30 meters...
I wouldn't call that way more hilly. The Netherlands also has the highest point of the two countries.
Average elevation change says nothing about the frequence of hills, nor their height.
For sure

already been 3 almost 4 years...
Am I too early or is the new computer still outputting only 480p?
Eichetheking yes i thought that would be much better at a higher quality you could see the street signs
It doesn’t matter how good the computer is he maybe chose 480 for quicker uploads or maybe he doesn’t have the correct software installed to record in 1080
Eichetheking I think that has to do with the settings for his screen recorder and how he exports his video from his editing software
@@Tejvir7 he can change output bitrate and resolution in OBS.

You know a lot of small cities in Denmark, that very impressing.
Kinda fun seeing you own city in a video
Greetings from Denmark :)
Was kinda hoping to get a location near where I live, but you only got places in Jutland and one on Funen, not Zealand (or any other island). Quite entertaining, if not mildly painful, to hear your pronunciation of Danish city and street names. A line mission in Denmark would be incredibly exciting, but I don't know how possible it is.
The fact that I have never seen this channel before and the second quest in this video is a road I take to drive to school sometimes 😅 very random✌🏻

The facecam of yourself works well. very natural
Pretty neat with all the signposts and small towns next to each other. I guess a small country can afford to keep every nook and cranny on the up-and-up. Fields and old straw-roof houses abundant. Kind of like England except everything is placed closer together.
Could you please do Ireland? I think it will be very hard as the country is full of small country roads but it is very well sign posted. Love from Kildare.
impressive map reading skills, 10/10 would trust you as navigator.
Do you ever plan on making a season 2 of crossing countries in a straight line? Would love to see a series of that especially because I love watching your content. Also if you don't mind, the beginning music/background music of the mission across Wales videos are amazing tracks that give me crazy nostalgia, so hoping you might give a link to the music soon ;)
When I went to Denmark, I was amazed at how similar the countryside looked to East Anglia !
Love the new webcam during these :D
Haha--that first spot -.- the white building was very familiar to me.. Turns out I used to live not that far from there when I was a kid (in "BIndeballe").. my dad used to rent farm land up the small road you started on :D
Been looking forward to this one forever! also Bredballe basically means Fatass.. or a broad bale of hay. Oh and Tom, I could hook you up with a boat if you wanted to cross the straits on your straight line mission! :p
LOL sounds like my kinda town
13:57 “Pas ma missi” (Pas må mig). I have read this sign wrong my entire life. What a revelation. Thanks Tom 😂
Denmark is probably one of the easiest to do it with as well, since it is so incredibly small compared to most countries, and every street is practically labeled, like, every.
"Bredballe" I know some swedish people are laughing now..

Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we’ve all been waiting for
LOL, that fourth one I was like; "I know *exactly* where this is"! I have a friend that lives around there, what a coincidence! Also the first four ones are close-ish to areas I go every day, it really didn't vary locations that much, even the last one was in Jylland... No tiny islands or obscure Copenhagen back alleys... If you ever do decide on doing a straight line mission here and you need some help planning it, I'd be more than happy to help out. As long as you do it after harvest season I don't think any farmers are going to bother coming after you in their turbo tractors, I have crossed a few fields and never had any issues, even fields with cows on them.
As a Dane his really bothers me! There are so many lovely places in Denmark, and you get 5 absolutely bland, boring locations!! :D Apart from that, really enjoyed the video! Good fun with the pronunciations, and literally found myself yelling at the screen when you were looking for Nyborg/Faaborg!! I think Denmark is a pretty good choice for a straight-line mission. Have a few ideas for places that would be suited I think!
Another thing: If you could get your videos up to at least 720p, it will be so much easier for us to see the map :)
