I'm Josh with Cotton and Hollow. We make funny things, we make useful things and we end up in many improbable situations. If you've got this far in the description you are an intrepid explorer of boxes and I approve you as a comrade in curiosity. So join me on this adventure as we make multitudes of majorly magnificent videos as we be excessively modest and have a good time! Thanks for watching and reading, give yourself a cookie. - Hry
Respectfully.
Monster Hunter "Will never be the same" has been the only form of consistency the franchise has ever had.
So by that logic, everything is the same.
Evolution, baby!
The only thing that never changes, is that things will always change
I love wilds already for what it is
@@MilkyBoost Big same, I am the big excited.
@@trocer2235and that you fight monsters. That will definitely never change
if cotton really hasn't seen the new trailers his willpower can move mountains
I refuse to watch videos on it, but I do listen to them. Even this one.
@@Tuezday1388 good enough
I think Cotton has only seen the first trailer from the game awards
People will say MH is losing its identity with every new entry that comes out from now on but will fail to realise that change & experimentation ARE part Monster Hunters identity, always have been.
Edit: Ya boi took a phat nap after saying this but I got more to add! Quite abit to add really so bare with me!
I'd like to add that though change & experimentation ARE themselves also more tk the series identity, we all know that not all changes/experiments work out for everyone, players & devs alike.
We don't have to ALL like each change comes (its impossible tonplease everyone I'd know xD) BUT much like with people, we can't just expect them stay the same OR expect the changes WE want. It's THEIR work of art, THEIR expression of vision, THEIR Gravy train, we're just along for the ride, able to get off & on at each stop.
A couple of the most notable examples of changes that weren't well recieved & changes that the devs didn't like the result of are MH3U's gimmick, Underwater Combat & Rise' gimmick, rampages.
As far as Underwater combat was concerned they attempted it but it didn't function particularly well, they wanted better for it & so it hasn't been seen in the series going forward BUT that's hasn't stopped them from attempting to bring it back since. They tried to bring it back with World we know that much.
Rampages on the other hand, they worked completely fine, but weren't always the most engaging & weren't well recieved by a good portion of audience, it was, like UWC, a whole new element/type of hunting, a whole new experiment, but we didn't see them expand upon it even once after Base Rise' content cycle ended. Now sunbreak did focus on other mechanics/story but I think if Rampages were better recieved & the dev team were happy with them, they'd of expanded on it or atleast added MR Rampages. Do we know if it'll return in some form? No. But that doesn't mean it was a total failure either, the whole 'turret' mechanic that MH has had since the beginning got a nice overhaul as a result, among other things.
This carries over to previous changes & experimentats within the series, not everything works but they learn & adapt alot from each venture. They carry that knowledge forward & put it to use in other interesting & innovative ways.
They also aren't afraid ti keep trying on their less successful ideas, siege/gigantic Monster hunts they've never fully hit their stride with & yet up until World in anycase (yet TBT with Wilds) they've kept trying to do em! And the liklihood is they will continue to do so, cause someone or some people of the team loves the idea of fighting collosal beasties & quite frankly so do I!
As for smaller changes, they also experiment with new ideas frequently, clutch claw was a pain in the buttocks, horrible balanced & not very well implemented, the best part of it imo was just the attack animations we got with it! Focus mode sounds like it's the clutch claw redone! But instead of latching to the Monster to create weakpoints we do that naturally over time & instead of latching to specific monster part we'll be zoomed in abit, given a reticle (Like clutchclaw aim reticle) & we'll be able to more easily GUIDE our attacks in the direction of that reticle. And just like clutchclaw was 1 unique attack for each weapon, focus mode also has 1(that we've been told of) unique attack per weapon.
So focus mode basically sounds akin to clutch claw where we can target specific limbs but we aren't going to be awkwardly clinging onto that limb for dear life & also don't HAVE to use it like we did clutch claw if we wanted to get anywhere with the hunt.
They've taken the individual components of a previous mechanic that wasn't great, separated them & innovated upon them. How will it actually play? We don't know till we SEE, how will it feel? We dont know till we PLAY, but so far it sounds 100% better than grabbing onto the monster every 2 minutes.
Then there's mounts, camps etc. Necessary changes to accompany the much larger scale of everything. They helped you get around the openly connected environments of Iceborne/Risebreak & they'll be designed the same for Wilds' seamless maps that are TWICE the size & scope of Worlds locales.
Then there's no loading screens & returning to ase after a quest & all that jazz but given the nature of how this game is going to be, it SOUNDS like they've made the changes necessary while still attempting to keep inline with the MH we knew/know. Obviously we don't know for sure how that's going to feel, wether all the changes are going to be good, objectively not all of them will be perfect & some will be down to preference but as I've been talking about, the MH team is ALWAYS cooking up a storm, trying new flavours & improving upon old recipes.
AND its worthy to point out that each MH director has their own vision for the franchise, so we'll get to see all kinda of MH as & when they take the kead for their own games!
It's a good time to be a Monster Hunter fan, plenty to be hype about & plenty to be concerned about!
Let's try to keep our hopes up, our expectations tempered &, the mood positive!
So true. Trying new things and innovating on the already perfect formula is what makes this franchise stand out.
Every single monster hunter game has a standalone valid reason to play that game in particular (except maybe 1)
Unlike other franchise's new monster hunter doesn't invalidate or devalue the old games.
Aa long as the Core Game mechanic remains Hunting Awesome Monsters and wearing them as Cool Hats then yeh go for it :D
It depends, if you put attention MH has never done abrupt moveset changes until mhgu, all innovation was about anything else, hence why the comment of the danger is right specially since gu, the clutch claw and specially rise@@zacharyhansen8250
It's so funny to me that people are quibbling over no loading screen between hub and map as if World getting rid of loading screens between zones turned out to be a mistake.
Almost like that's the point these videos are making and thus they are expressions of appreciation of that fact 😮
This game is gonna be wild af
I believe it's wilds not wild
bet
HAAAAAAAAAAA, he said the thing
Badumz:D
I mean yea, but how do u think the game will be?
I could love if Monster Hunter did a series similar to Animal Planet where we go to the environment and see the monsters interact when we aren't hunting them. They could also go back to the oceans and show other monsters that they couldn't implement because of the games.
Something like it's being narrated by Nigel Marvin or David Attenborough?
Having played 4 different monster Hunter games over the last 6 years, I finally did it…
I actually completed one. This is a very proud moment for me
Wow! Which one? I've gotten to the end credits on Portable 3rd and Generations. There is still a lot to do even after the end of the story. MH wrote the book on "replayability."
Let's go! Good for you! Now go back and finish the last three! By the time you're done Wilds will be out!
@@MatthewTheEmperor It was Sunbreak. I’ve finished the story on all of the games, but it’s all the post-launch DLC content, I finally beat Primordial Malzeno.
In world I am yet to beat fatalis, in 4U I am yet to reach Gog, and in GU I am yet to reach Ahtal-Ka
@@petecowley3481 You gotta a lot to do! Good luck!

Just imagine the trailers for all the weapons
I'm so excited for the weapon previews!!!
This is the thing im waiting for mostly. Until i see how the weapons handle, what moves are returning from previous iterations * cough * 2 staged morph * cough * ill remain only cautiously optimistic. How the weapons handle is more important than monsters to me cause gameplay is king.
My bug will rule another subcontinent of monster hunter
Minimum of neck snapping
lol if it's like Josh is saying and all the maps loading at once, your bug will be lost in the swarm that is the bugpocolispe that turns the poor Series S into bombs in the homes of poor people. remember that the Series S couldn't run a simple Call Of Duty game and that was big news years ago, it would not run at all even if it was the only app becasue it would not fit.
I love that the player has so much freedom now. Seamless transitions from base to hunting ground, and from exploration to a straight up hunt. It gives us so much flexibility. Really curious about how they work other locales and story quests into this pseudo open world, and how much the demo will show of these mechanics. If the demo would be this open we’d all just go and fight Thor Magala or explore the whole map and kill EVERYTHING that’s there, not just the designated quest target.
You did NOT just call the new flagship Thor Magala. That's hilarious
Interview with the directors clarified that flying wyvern was only an apex monster of the food chain in the locale
so it isn't the flagship
@@mechagamer3602 I did. It’s not a name I made though, but a name given to this mystery dragon by several people in the MH community. I’ve just adopted it as canon until further notice
@@mechagamer3602it's confirmed that the new flying wyvern is not a flagship just the apex of the desert locale and supposedly it's name is revealed in french article which is Rey Dau but idk if it's real or not
@@mechagamer3602Been called that since his reveal, and honestly very clever
This feels like 90% World/Iceborne and 10% Rise/Sunbreak and I'm totally for it.
I know some people didn't like Rise/Sunbreak for it's more "loose" ecology and easier gameplay but it feels like Wilds is taking a few of the cool concepts from Rise/Sunbreak and honing it, making it more ecologically sound. Effectively getting a true balance of coolness and realism.
As someone who played both entries to death, I'm definitely going to enjoy Wilds as well.
^As long as the core concept of the MH hunts is there and exciting, I say let the gameplay be fast or slow, methodical or wild (no pun intended), crazy or realistic, or anything in-between any such extremes you could imagine. I do my best to enjoy each take as it is, period, because that (imo) is what it's all about :P
Give me world world and sunbreak insect glaive and I'm perfectly happy.
Rise's ecology is pretty good for a game that doesn't focus on the ecology aspect at all
Rise was abysmal.
"Start knowing where the monster is and run at it, just stab it whilst it can't do anything and pretend to feel accomplished" is a pretty shit experience. Know some people liked it, but those people would also likely be served equally well by Dauntless. Really shouldn't follow the example of Rise.
Rise ruined Barioth, and I will not forgive it.
Wilds is the perfect game to bring back quropeco. It calling a monster and that monster traveling to your location in real time would be incredibly cool and scary. Imagine you hear it call a deviljho and you look over to see it hauling ass through a grassy field or desert in the distance on its way to mess you up
Having played since September of 2004, and as many titles as I could get my hands on. I swear I said it at some point even then. This was what I imagined the series to become someday. I had at some point said "What if we had the game where you could go everywhere. Pure open world hunting." No one thought it was possible, and yet here we are, 20 years later with Capcom writing perhaps the biggest love letter to its community that perhaps any developer has ever done. We are entering the era where Monster hunter perhaps has become truly what it was envisioned to be. What many of us dreamed of, and imagined what we were doing. We're out in the world, part of it, immersed in it. They've been polishing and honing the combat and weapons. The fact they've kind of gone back to roots with weapons, where each one feels unique. You feel the weight of a greatsword, the oomph and thud of a hammer. The series is, entering the promised land of what the series could have, and should have been. From Tri which renewed my love for the series, that "free roam" of the map with no time limit. This is just beautiful, and is making me strongly considering returning to world and polishing my skills, push to the 10k uses for each weapon. And in pursuit of my art? Make art of the monsters, hunter armor weapons and break down my own rendition of Thormagala which I'm seeing it being a heck of a mix of Namielle(neck frills), Zinogre(horn shape), Magala for how those horns move, Tigrex/Seregios for flying wyvern and a "proto-wyvern" like it wasn't a true flying wyvern as it walked on all limbs, but could still fly. The hype is real.
I've gone from "I'm going to try and stay blind" to "give me ALL of the knowledge."
My question is, will there be a day/night cycle? Night hunts would bring a whole new atmosphere.
That was mentioned by the Capcom team in an interview, along with also having seasonal cycles as well. Its going to be very interesting to see how they all differ especially the seasonal ones
The weather will change a lot and there will be night and day cycles.
calling cotton noob is kinda wild.
that pink man deserves the status veteran!
I wonder if they'll have a "wait for weather" option. Where I want to hunt Thor Magala so I rest until it's a thunder storm
This is my biggest worry. Best part of MH is the ability to hunt exactly what I want when I want. Having to wait around for the monster I want to spawn would be very annoying
i mean every monster needs to be somewhere, maybe its just different on which "season" we have right now. So Thor Magala is while Thunderstorms out Hunting and in the other Seasons just resting in a cave. It would make the World even more alive
Thormagala has a name btw, it is "Rey Dau" apparently. Confirmed by an Italian content creator who got to watch the live hunt.
Yeah this is in direct contradictory to the persistent world concept it’s one of the things I consider novelty but may be detrimental to overall game experience. My guess is there will be some type of investigation system just for grinding because this persistent world ain’t good for grinding at all. You can actually kill off a target animal and will have to wait for them to somehow respawn. Honestly what they’ve shown seems to me to be the expedition mode. They’ve even admitted story mode will force scenarios, and I’m guess investigations will do the same. So yeah this seems to be a glorified expedition mode
Remember even the guiding lands had to have a system to force desired spawns.
In conclusion, yes it’s novel to simulate a world but it’s also boring after the novelty wears off and thus fast travel and bait balls and forced scenarios all reality breaking mechanics are necessary to make a great game experience.
This is so wild. I still play MHW to this day and cant think of a way to inprove it . Then i see The wilds trailers and i feel like that is even better. How is that possible. I play something that is so close to perfection and then see something that promises so much more. Its mind blowing. I dont i even understand how good wilds will be.
I want a ranch out at the edge of the village where a posse of palicos raise herd animals and farm crops with me for the expedition. I miss having a full farm like in MHFU and P3rd. Ranching would be so perfect in Wilds.
We need y'all to live stream the beginning of the game for best viewing experience
I came up with a way for the skill system to work for both weapons which introduces a new “skill-charm” where you can craft skills that’ll work for the “secondary weapon only”and I made it in a way that you can’t just abuse it by just bringing more attack skills for one type so I made the skillcharm only be able to slot in “weapon specific skills” (like Slugger only being available for Hammer and HH so if your rocking charge blade, then you’ll need to slot slugger into your main armor slots) so that the hunter can’t just use the charm as an extra deco slot. I made it like this so that you can’t just abuse more attack skills for two greatswords.
Great sword can have stuff like “quick sheath” and “quick charge” and Dual Blades can have something like “protective polish” and “Marathon Runner”. You get more slots and better skills for the skillcharm throughout the game ✨
I can't wait for wilds
13:42 There are clearly 3 different colored bears (don’t remember its name yet). What if for it’s armor, if you could customize it early with the different colors of the monsters? That would be so cool!
I would love if Capcom pulled sort of a pokemon move by incorporating rare color variants(shinies) of the monsters. If the game will constanlty have herds and solo monsters roaming around with each new trip out in to Wilds it would be could to spawn a shiny monster haha. Although I guess techincally Capcom has done that with the rare endemic life spawns so not entirely out of the realm of possibilty
@@foreverfornever1124 dont think that will be a case for large monsters as normally even a colour shift like rathian into pink rathian makes it a total different monster, it will be just for showing the player who the alpha is and who we have to slay or capture
@falkbachmann9919 but that's my point, probably should have made that more clear. If there was a random variant that pops up, it is still the alpha, but it's not always guaranteed to be just the common version but a rare subspecies. Rathian is a common monster, but pink rathian not so much. Then you get into Gold rathian, which would be even rarer. See what I'm getting at? Actually, creating a mechanic that keeps hunting fresh and constantly staying out there to find those rare variants rather than just handing you the rare subspecies like MH has always done
my biggest question now is
1. is there a gathering hub where we see friends, or we just go to their "village" since there going to be more then 1 "village" rite ???
2. is it still 16 people to join da friend "village"
3. theres no quest board rite ?? who/how is going to decide wat to hunt
4. with da world/map getting bigger, is 16 man hunt finally here ??
5. da most important thing, IS POOGIE STILL AROUND ???
1) hope it's an honest to Gogmazios Gathering Hub.
2) i don't know, honestly. if sieges return - and something tells me they will - then i believe they will.
3) by going to the handler. however, i don't know for sure if the quest board's gone (i didn't know).
4) i don't think so. unless, they'll do it for siege monsters?
5) personally couldn't give less of a f@c#. but he is a staple of the MH franchise, and there's people like you who love Poogie, so he better come back.
I highly doubt hunts will ever be 16 man parties. Probably only safi type sieges. 4 parties doing 4 hunts at the same time
3. there is still a quest board, in addition to the seamless hunts. I imagine this is probably where you'll find arena and event quests, in addition to being an option for picking what monster to fight without having to wait for them to spawn in the open world.
5. I don't rightly know if poogie is returning, but supposedly in the village they keep dalthydons (those kestodon looking things) as pets in a similar manner to the moofies from Generations so there's a chance those are going to be the main "pet"
The new implementation of being able to carry 2 weapons to a hunt is so underrated, especially if you possibly change armor automatically when choosing the other weapon. It can also be the same weapon type (for example 2 longswords) which is great since some monsters are weak to two different elements depending on the phase.
For example Barroth. When it is muddy it's weak to water. So we use a longsword with water element. Once the mud is off we can call our Seikret to quickly switch to a fire element longsword and continue having the highest DPS possible.
I'm 90% sure they said that armor isn't decided on if it will change or not when you swap weapons
That would be great! I still remember the Kulve Taroth hunt and having to run back to camp once her mantle fell off because her weaknesses changed so much. With this system, I could have just brought both LBGs I used with me!
changing weapon on mount auto change armor ? where did u hear dis from ???
wat happen to making game more realistic
It would be better if you can modify your weapons status like safi weapons and make the armour have skills that effect all kind of weapons
I'm pretty sure they said armor won't be changing and they are making a way to have a build for two weapons
Mh world used to feel revolutionary. But THIS, now this is peak gaming. I love how far the series has come
I'm just amaze how Cotton can block off all news from this game.
Thankyou once again for managing to root out every single detail our starving hearts need for Monster Hunter Wilds' content/to come.
Damn I'm enjoying rise sunbreak so much I can easily wait wild next year.
There s only 2 things i worry about in wilds that being are we gonna be able to have special events/ fun and unique events like huge/tiny monsters
and if we do have event quests are they gonna be like rise where we get moneyand gestures and lock the weapon and armor behind microtransactions like rise has
or are they gonna go back to weapons an armor available by playing the game like back in previous entries
I feel like its important to make everyone aware that microtransactions can very much make a brake the vcore elements of monster hunter if they continue down that direction
I think the hardest monster to implement in this would be Elder Dragons. I mean they always are ofcourse, but this time especially because Elder Dragons influence the weather by their sheer presence, and the weather here is already fluctuating as it is... not to mention lots of monsters basically evacuate when an Elder Dragon appears, so how to show that in a living breathing world, especially in a continuously active world (coz then the Elder Dragons need to enter and exit), and have the weather slowly go back to normal...
Basically a lot of stuff to manage to make Elder Dragons fit in... and a lot of stuff that may look bad in perspective with the rest of the game if not done properly... but on the flipside, a lot of stuff that would look absolutely mind-blowing if done properly, and I think that's one of the reasons the game took/is taking so long to make, and why no Elder Dragon has been shown yet.
Makes me think about the armor passives. If you're running a GS/HBG then the armor passives must be insane to allow usage of both.
i love how i can see that over the years and the games ive played they have expanded and improved on all these features for a smooth conglomerate in wilds with the raider rides to palamutes to seikret or the AI Hunters which was initially in frontier Z then reintroduced in Sunbreak and most of all the philosophy of world for it to be alive expanding on and improving their craft it makes me so happy to see this
Also keep up the great content Josh!
honestly if there are a few hub towns i think the game will be better, just having a few distinct towns will make it feel more real, also i need transport quests to be a thing still and not just grab egg take it here but escort merchant quests to X town or place would be kinda cool.
I will take about 2hrs just making sure I have the perfect look for my char lol hope we can change colour for the mount as well
I can understand the dessert area being one huge “ancient forest” type of zone but I will be straight up be surprised if you could walk from for example the “wild spire waste” area to the “Coral highlands” area.
They did mention that the map would expand as you progress through the story. Its all connected I suppose? Which is pretty cool
Yeah I loved that about guiding lands
Another good example of the astera gate is the Mhtri/3u gate to moga you can see the path down to the village and the whole village below. I always thought that was awesome.
The seamless walking from hub to map works really well in the division. Hoping is a monster hunter variant and adaptation like that
Great explanation, I want to do a few hunts with you guys so bad, mainly I want to hear you guys laughing the whole time.
11:52 Yes!! You get it!! The raw appeal were its hunter vs nature has always been my favorite part of MH..
hopefully weapon designs are all unique and not dreaded world design slap dash together
One thing I hope for is for hammer to have the forms from rise, I think it made the hammer so much better. With world you had to constantly put the buff on which felt clunky and not really fun but the strength and courage stance improved on the weapon so much and as a hammer main. I beg for it to be a permanent change. Tbh the switch skills in general I feel made every weapon feel better
This just seems like what i would imagine after playing freedom unite when i first started hunting
The living ecosystem and grand scale of the worlds is what really set monster hunter apart for me when I first got into it. I’m glad to see that, even as the game evolves and changes, it has still has that ecological detail strewn about its games.
I remember Cotton's reactions to the monsters of MHGU.
Wilds can do a thing where mid hunt if it changes season/weather if it isnt rhat monsters normal habitat it can either become super enraged cause its irritated by the uncustomed weather or it because more docile/exhausted because its supposed to bunker down/"hibernate" til the weather passes
Fun fact their was a third generation jojo cross over
I love the open world and think this is the correct step. My concern is that half the game is spent in menus with builds and the other half is grinding. Since the world is living and breathing, my concern is if we can have consistent hunts at ANY time.
I'll take guiding lands logic of "this is what is here, but you can also summon/hunt this monster" as the quest mechanic for grinding. As someone who has spent literal days grinding for mantles pre melding, they need to either have a different drop/forging method, or a consistent way to grind in a changing environment.
My concerns will be gone once we some of the upopular weapons.....cause so far its been pretty much just been weapons on the more popular side (both in the trailer and the exclusive demo) In an interview it was also said that "every weapon got at least 1 new attack" (which means there is atleast 1 weapon that only got 1 new thing) and some who seen the demo said LS got a bunch of stuff....so the most popular weapon got a bunch of stuff and there has to be at least 1 weapon that got verry little compared to that....who wants to bet its lance or GL (aka the less popular weapons) i can already smell the pandering to the lowest common denominator.......or hey maybe i am wrong and its just my inner pessimist talking
Oh and to clearify i am totally hyped about the things we have seen so far, they look amazing, its the things we havent seen that concern me. Especially since the things i tend to like usally lean towards the lesser popular (like Lance fav weapon or Gammoth fav monster)
my gues it is chargeblade it from iceborn already had two ways to play. rise/sunbreak brought like two blocking moves(thats boring and just variation what weapon alredy could do ) and two hopes(that brought to balance nerf of philes exposion) for each, why mention 2nd team game bc it show that they don't know how to add more things to this weapon. but it is just my thoughts
idk about any of that but they confirmed that LBG and HBG are the most changed weapons, and hunting horn close 3rd
@@islamsalimzhanov4399 I dont think CB will keep the things from sunbreak for the most part....but alright we have one bet on CB. Lets keep the ball rolling the ods are 1/10 (since we know its not the bowguns, LS or GS)
@@Sucksahs123 didnt they say HH will close to Iceborne?
@@zawardo5909 the whole quote was "So the Light Bowgun and Heavy Bowgun have received some of the most kind of broad action changes, as well as the Hunting Horn. The Hunting Horn is going back more to a World-basis of the action, but on top of that, it's also introduced a lot of other changes." I think we'll be fine when it comes to less popular weapons. Though I can see the charge blade and dual blades not having many changes but those are not unpopular weapons I think
Wilds does seem like let's take all these ideas that we tried to do in the 5th generation and make it way better. Just cause you can make some parallels from mh world iceborne and rise sunbreak to the things they show off for wilds. And I'm all for it
I really hope you can have a house that’s super customizable.
I believe the Monster Hunter franchise itself was never the same since MHW's release, because it was and still is a great game to play to this day.
Mhgu is better
I hope they don't reveal everything in the trailers cause going back to see the World and Rise trailers, they really didn't keep that much besides the final bosses hidden from the players, which I hope isn't the case again where every new monster is shown before the game releases.
dat up to da player to watch it or not
That's on you no one's forcing you to watch reveal trailers and such.
I don’t want anything from rise, but everything from world.
@@sorryidgaf.6043 I mean, we're already getting mounts that we can control, which was a Rise thing so 🤷
@@judie6727 yeah, that’s true.
It would be neat if they let you port over a character and palico from world
I also think that seasonal events or something featuring giant monsters in the open world wouldbe awesome. Maybe you hunt it a number of times in different locales, and each time you drive it off and it runs to a different one. It could have a warning that the area is occupied by a dangerous giant monster or something if you want to take on a normal hunt there. Then you can hunt it again in each locale and by the time it is finally dead you should have enough for the armor and some weapons. I just want Gogmazios and Dalamadur to be back, they shouldn't be stuck on a 3ds.
If the Pinecone Porcupine from Frontier isn't in this game, I'm gonna flip. Hyujikiki is the perfect monster for the windward plains.
I still want an Arena, I love those quests.
I hope it won't never be the same that old monster Hunter formula the word but when they got more graphical it just made me want a full open World experience
The only change that hurt me deeply was the huge nerf to crit draw gs.
Big question that just popped into my head, since it's a big open world, you apparently set up camps here and there wherever you want, but how will carting work? Like if a monster kills you, do you just go to the nearest camp? What if there is no camp? Back to town? Or would they just drop you somewhere nearby that's safe? There's not gonna be a limit on carting either I don't think 🤔 thatll be weird to play with. But no more randos ruining your hunt 🥲 just had 2 ruin a black veil for me tonight. Was doing just fine and they came in with insurance and still failed the quest in under 5 minutes...
Its awesome that josh is as excited for cottons reactions to this game as we are. The second this game gets a release date im putting in for a full week off work 😅
Im ready to be able to switch from greatsword to hammer during a hunt
It was a pretty good chance they started wilds as soon as world was released. They do this with all monster hunters, the following games are never far behind in production.
Literally the only thing I am afraid of for wilds is the camp crushing. Since you can make your own outposts that will get attacked and destroyed I am a bit afraid that this mechanic will take a bit overhand towards the end when you have more of them. So it switches only between defend this defend that or oh there are 2 or more under attack now choose one to keep and rebuild the rest....
I can still hear this guy saying "Rocket Powered Greatsword"
I made a post about how simular mh stories and mh wilds is gonna be, both select a quest on the board and go to the locale and both wont immediately send you back to the village but instead keep you in the locale. And you innitiate battles by going up to the monster the same exept one is a loading screen to turn based combat and one is immediatly combat.
Dark souls 2 was the bones of elden ring and i think mh stories is gonna be the bones of wilds.
In tri on the deserted island you could see moga village in the distance when you reached the gate, it isnt a new thing its just a direct pathway there, people will always complain when a new mh game comes out and its okay
whats gonna happen when you cart ? is there gonna be unlimeted faints in hunts now?, because you can just run to the monster after youve weakened him and the dificulty would drop a lot we all remember carting against alatreon just before killing him
It could be if the team carts (x) times in a fight, the monster flees the map
I think if you accept a quest specifically then once you've engaged the Monster that's when both the 50 minute timer begins & the carts come into play, faint however many times to quest allows for & you fail the quest, time out you fail the quest & the Monster 'leaves the local'. That's how I'm making sense of ehat we've heard anyway
I can't wait till wilds comes out...
Wilds is taking notes from Toukiden 2, no load from hub to hunting open world
It’s going to be sooooo COOOOOOL!!!!
I hope the rise equivalent to this game still sticks more to the boss fight sim stuff. Rather than leaning in to all this extra admittedly neat stuff
It looks like you can dodge while riding the seikret
As long as they still allow some form of fast travel, I think everyone will end up ok with it.
Most of the worry, at least for me, is having to spend 15 minutes getting to a monster. I worry that realism will outweigh fun and convenience in certain areas.
I am not very worried and am overall looking forward to worlds. Looking forward to the continued coverage
Monster hunter world was my first game n I fell in love with it so I would love a true open world Monster ❤
I wonder what the new hub is gonna look like?
i doubt it'll happen, but i hope it's a fortress (no; Elgado regrettably doesn't count).
honestly i kind of hope they keep alternating between the world and classic style of game
I wish tracking monsters was a thing, but I don't see MH ever making it a feature since everyone likes auto pilot features in games.
Otherwise I enjoy the direction the franchise is going.
I really just need the colorful, charismatic, personality-riddled early game monsters now.
The big change i heard the focus mode is using R1 button now ... That changes alot of gameplay mechanics..... Insect glaive, qnd especially charge blade uses R1 button alot for different attacks and mechanics alone, each weapon uses that button wo how are the going to counter that then???
now they just need to confirm that the poogies are back
no no, moofies
@@ericmm6822 why not both? and the cohoots too
As long as I get my Moonlight Gekkos back
I will say it and say it again each time we talk about this game.
This isn't a prequel to world, this is another generation again
World was my 1st MH game. I remember when I was sent to kill Anjanath for the 1st time. I thought of JOB 13 Hither tho I come and will go no further.
We’re shooting for game of the year 🤩
I just hope the behind the scenes thing wasn't fake gameplay based on how close we are to a demo
According to Maximilian Dood he saw some frame drops and the game crash once so happily it seems that it was not fake.
Just hoping I have the money for it.
Probably getting it on PC if mine can handle it.
Where can I find that 20min gameplay video, it's nowhere on the internet :/
I hope that they change how elemental damage works so every weapon can use it effectively
Im excited to play it. I couldn't care what they do to the game. As long as it's fun and has lots if monster's im satisfied.
To not have a quest timer will be insane dude.
As a Range Weapon Main if what I'm hearing is true and there is no longer time limits on hunts I can't wait to get bored of hunting normally and attempt to take a HBG with wyvern snipe and attempt an entire hunt of a Large monster repeatedly ambushing a monster far and disengaging attempting to hunt with only wyvern snipe
Did we get a weekly random hunt this week fellas 👀
I think I said this befor but, based on all I've heard around le interwebs and such, Wilds sounds like it's pretty much Guiding lands expanded 10 fold. Every feature mentioned so far sounded like some form of the Guidinglands mechanic and thensome. Now I really loved guiding lands, I thought it was awesome and it was where I spent all my time after I found it but the loading time to get to it was just annoying. So I'm expecting Wilds to be pretty similiar to Guiding lands and in my own oppinion that's a good thing.
How does captures work then? Fight them again in the city?
I see what you mean by more open, its like Monster Hunter Wilds meets Zelda breath of the Wild 👀👀
Welp cant wait to lure an Elder Dragon into a village and laugh maniacally.
Im still convinced the smithy is the girl from the dwarven village all grown up
What do you think of the possibility that the new monsters are based on North American Cryptids i.e. the Chupacabra or Thunderbird. Also how awesome would it be if the map is kind of like a guiding lands but have natural barriers between the different environments which is why some monsters dont appear in other biomes but we can travel between them.
I am extremely hyped for Wilds, but I would be much more hyped if any content creator could talk about it without saying World/Iceborne (which I did like outside of clutch claw but give me something new) in the video.
You're gonna talk about MH again? That's Wild!
If I allow myself to properly digest what Wilds is showing & doing I may literally just lose my mind from excitement
