About Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent
The all-new, one-hour crime drama Law and Order Toronto: Criminal Intent is coming to Citytv on Thursday February 22. An adaptation of the legendary Law and Order brand. Based on the classic series created by Dick Wolf for Universal Television, Law and Order Toronto: Criminal Intent will showcase original Canadian stories written and produced by, and starring, Canadians. As a psychological thriller wrapped in a criminal investigation, Law and Order Toronto: Criminal Intent follows an elite squad of detectives who investigate high-profile crime and corruption in metro Toronto. - Zábava
I hope they make an episode were they have to travel to NYC to catch a serial killer & either SVU or the 27th precinct will assist in their case
Or beg Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe to return and show Major Case in NYC, since this show is a spinoff of original CI, after all.
All things considered, I really wouldn't be surprised at a crossover event on Peacock.
Hope those of us in the US get to see this. If we can't have original Criminal Intent back, I'm sure there are plenty that would like some fresh episodes to watch of this new version!
What was the point though? They can't bring back the ACTUAL Criminal Intent show so they give us this watered down Canadian junk? I hope this fails tremendously. Even the title looks dumb and overly long.
@@devontehuntley6274 First, you have no idea if it will be junk. Second, if you don't like it, just don't watch. And if we're lucky enough to get this in the states, the rest of us will. Pretty simple.
@@WendyCR72 It will be junk because the actors look bored and bland. This show comes off as forced as if someone just "needed" to push another show out. What made the L&O brand so successful and fresh unlike NCIS and CSI is each spinoff was different, it wasn't just "title name: new city", we got different branches of law enforcement cases (homicide, sexual assault, high profile, organized crime, etc.). Trial By Jury was nice attempt showing us more of the court side of thing, but if you look deeper was basically a rehash of the OG show. It didn't quite focus entirely on the trial as one would expect since the first half deal with "investigation" similar to L&O only with DA law enforcement in the mix. Los Angeles was a show that never should have happened since it was basically just L&O in a different city, and True Crime was interesting having each season be a different court case, but that fell through. A Toronto rehash of a spinoff just sounds desperate. They easily could have just brought back the American version or left it alone because this franchise has ENOUGH of these damn shows, half of which didn't even do so good. I'm surprised Organized Crime managed to be as successful as it is getting a fourth season now and broke the curse.
I live in the City of Toronto ("the 6ix" or 'the 416') and I am not impressed by the Trailer or the snippets of this show. It looks overdone, overly dark and contrived and I don't think it will succeed. Only a handful of Toronto productions have been highly successful in the past (i.e. "Kim's Convenience").
@@johnwoa Sometimes, trailers suck, but the movie or show turns out good. Not saying you're wrong, more like time will tell.
In Toronto's war on crime, the worst criminal offenders are pursued by the detectives of the Major Case Squad. These are their stories. Dun Dun.
Past/Current storyline: crooked former Toronto mayor, and alleged crooked brother, now Premier of the province with alleged funny business with passing of brown envelopes with developers and leasing off city property for 90 years to a spa... No wait.... that ain't fiction?!!! 😄

u r a buzzkill
I’m gonna look forward to it. Love seeing all the familiar places 👍🏾😊
I like 😮! I really hope it’s super successful!
When will this version come to the states.
This is gonna be legendary
Loving love and order toronto it is amazing
still miss the original cast for L&O:UK
Law and Order L.A. too.
CHIcago@@DC322
This version of criminal intent seems dark
Maddie from SVU is gonna be found here
Not Canadian money in that bag?
Good observation! In modern times, TV and movie productions made here in Toronto ("Hollywood North") are "Americanized" to make it appear that they are taking place in the U.S.. If you want to see a pure Canadiana crime drama movie that showcases Toronto of old, check out "The Silent Partner" (1978) starring Elliot Gould and Christopher Plummer. It's excellent!
Loved the original series so I'm really hoping to see this I the usa soon on any streaming service
Unfortunately this is nothing like the original, which was my favourite show!
I cant see this one lasting
Who sings the song
"No way fam"
Law & Order Toronto Criminal Intent Hope Same Not Face Like a Flashpoint in Toronto Ontario
And I thought they never rebooted the spin offs
Who does this song?
Found it! Coming For You by Steve Everitt & Nathalie Kraemer
@@ashleyhazlewood4820 thanks
@@ashleyhazlewood4820thank u!!! I have been looking for days trying to find it.
@@ashleyhazlewood4820thank you!!
Brampton? 😅
Scarborough would be better
So what.. guy robs store with knife, store owner chases him with stick gets his money back , robber charges store owner and he goes to jail longer then the robber for intent to bodily harm...that sounds like canada justice what a great idea for a show....darp
yeah the show decided not even to feature much of the Canadian justice system because of what a joke it is. it does have a crown attorney tho
I hope by episode 10 they arrest Trudeau.
this isnt law and order ottawa
also all stories and characters in this show will be fictional
Great another cop show no more please
They shoulda done it in Montreal so we get more Québécois representation!!
Ya the Quebecois don’t get nearly enough special treatment
@@BenCormier Lol as it should be!
Well for Montreal you need L&O: organized crimes with all the mafia running the city…😂😂
This will be boring as ass.
Canadian law enforcement and US law enforcement are night and day.
Way less gun use by Canadian law enforcement but way more paperwork !
This version will last 1 season….maybe.
I don't think gunfights are what made the original series interesting. In fact, most gunfight scenes in tv are just boring, lazy writing.. imho.
It's gonna be interesting! They're gonna solve local store robberies or arrest people for jay walking...or giving tickets for tampering with the Moose. Kidding! I do agree. TO ain't no NYC. I mean yes, Toronto has bad crime. But not NYC bad. I also agree...probably 1 or 2 seasons at best. This is coming from a Canadian.
The horrible intro music might keep me away. I wish they would lose that.
Thank youuuuu! I've been wondering how or why they're going to explain the Canadian criminal/legal system to Americans. Maybe they will just pretend Toronto is an extension of the US...? Imagine an episode where someone commits a major string of crimes between Montreal & Toronto. There would be 2 languages, 2 different legal codes, and up to 4 different police divisions. That's before considering further context about parties involved... Sounds weird
