Hi Alison - Great points! But how about a few points before putting your violin back in the case after your practice session?
1) Removing fingerprints and rosin dust from the violin, strings and bow with a soft cloth after playing.
2) Loosening the bow hair with the adjusting screw after playing to prolong the life of the bow.
3) Depending on where you live, place a good humidifier in the case during the colder months of the year to protect the wood of the violin.

Thank you, that's useful. I rosin my bow about once a week and I can never see any change in what the bow hair looks like (I imagine I would hear a difference). Why can't the rosin and the bow hair be a different colour so that you can tell it's going on?

Hi, thanks for this video! One of my main concerns is that i seem to have some pain in my lower back. I take care not to overdo, make regular breaks and I check my posture in the mirror. I have been playing 1 to 1:30 hours every night for the past 4 months and I am currently on 2nd finger exercises. Any particular stretching exercises that we should do before practicing ? Thanks for your lessons btw . They have been my main way of learning this instrument without any musical training for my first 43 years of life

I've developed a bony spur on my keyboard wrist from the edge of the violin. I hope it disappears, however, I bought a wrist support.
As our world spins to perilous times, our violin playing in Heaven will be so divine. Have you heard of the term - The Rapture? A term that has been spreading around territories, and globally. An event that could happen at any time for concerned and repentant people. Revelation - the book is opening. I just wonder how many people know about this event. It sounds important.
