Great video! I went with 4” straight pipe exhaust when I deleted my 2018 Ram 2500. I like the sound but it was too rude for the neighbors in the subdivision and at RV parks. I had my mechanic add a very small muffler which just knocked the edge off of the straight pipe sound. Now she’s perfect.
I really appreciate your video. Im 46 and think like you. My neighbors are my parents and so im tryin to be respectful with them concerning the noise. It’s my dads old 09 3500 dually. It’s funny cuz everything I do to it, he takes personal like why am I messing with a perfectly good stock truck even though it’s not his anymore. LOL .
Just installed a 4" Diamond Eye on my 07' and it is raspy as hell, kind of wishing I went 5" now. Gonna have to try the Flo Twister now. Thanks for the video!
I would also be better if your exhaust actually was long enough to not echo off the bed i got 5 inch straight on my 18 with a turn down tip pointed back and it’s almost as quiet as stock in the cab but i think a lot of what you are dealing with is that your tail section isn’t long enough and it’s acting like a axle dump not pointing the noise out the side
yah you make a great point! I can relate had axle dump and was obnoxious even with 4" + mbrp 6"-32"length muffle. Did a custom welded 5" turndown and now with 4" straight pipe sounds fine in cab. Doing 2ndgen swap and will use this twister for sure
GREAT VID - Always loved 4" straight pipe on the 2nd get kits, 5" full straight does get really annoying like you just showed, especially when towing... LAWD! haha. This sounds really good with the resonator though. Much better than that MBRP 6" & 8"diamete and 32" length units. Installing our wehrli kit soon, and going to do this same thing, thanks!
This sounds amazing!! I'm gonna be looking for a 3500 to customize into a service truck but is gonna be a must addition like most modern engines they have different sound but this has that bare bone raw inline 6 sound .
That's what I'm doing to mine as soon as my FTE resonator comes in. I'm installing mine as close to the down pipe as I can. The drone with my 5" is horrible!!
Hi there! Nice sound. Looking to do something for my truck. How’s the drone on this set up? I tow a heavy camper and don’t want to hate the vacation drive. Thanks!
It kills about 75% of the drone that the straight pipe puts out. None of the raspy terrible sound over 2k rpm. It’s not completely quiet but I’ve taken the truck on a few road trips and it’s not bad. When I’m by myself i don’t even notice it.
I'm running 4" straight pipe on my 5.9 with no tip and it sounds fantastic. No rasp and no drone. Just deep and clean. But, just for reference, my truck's a manual and a single cab, long bed
You’re the first one I’ve seen install it in the pre muffler location. I did mine in the same spot on my 3.0L straight piped powerstroke and was pretty happy with the results. Wondering how much quieter it would get closer to the down pipe or is there a reason you choose that spot as well?
I just chose it there because that’s where it fit the best with out moving my exhaust hangers out of spot. Mega cabs and long bed configuration have a extension piece on these exhaust that is near this position so i removed that and threw it in.
Those resonators are a restriction that rob horse power. I have a straight through muffler and the factory ram short straight through muffler on mine and it’s almost as quiet as stock.
So you have JUST the twister resonator now, not the muffler and resonator correct? I do not want obnoxious while towing, that's my goal... I dont want to waste time with both if just the twister will work.
Could you feel any power lose by the butt dyno? Im thinking of adding a flo pro twister on mine, im at 600hp. Dont want to lose power though, or atleast enough that id be able to feel it
Haha don't need to apologize for that goofy face...I think we all catch ourselves doing it. I'm sure you have seen the faces some rock band drummers make while banging on the drums 🥁!
Wow a guy that acknowledges the ricer deisel sound. Thank you friend.
Ironic since he has a 12" tip
It sounds A LOT better with the resonator. And I'm sure your neighborhood appreciated it. 👍✌️
Great video!

Mahalo for the video...always wanted to hear how that sounds on the 6.7...Aloha 🤙🏽

Yeah the drone and raspy ness on a straight piped truck sounds like a pissed off honda in my opinion. Not a fan.
It definitely makes a difference. Great vid
Sounds much better with the resonator!! Good stuff
My tip is 6” rolled edge welded. No raspy Honda. I hate that too. No resonator yet so I’ve got the drone just no raspy.
Just installed a 4" Diamond Eye on my 07' and it is raspy as hell, kind of wishing I went 5" now. Gonna have to try the Flo Twister now. Thanks for the video!
they are all raspy at higher RPM i hate how it sounds in the cab. thats why i put on the resenator. im to old for that lol.
Much better, I order a 4 inch pipe with muffler, will try that first then decide go with twist or not. 51299 is the twister's sku for 4 inch pipes.
Awesome video. I make goofy faces too. It’s all part of getting old. Lol. Keep up the good work.

I definitely agree. Running a 4" straight pipe on my 3'rd gen and I have no drone with it shooting out the passenger side
"zero to whatever" good shit right there..lol
Can’t beat the torque of the 6.7 Cummins
Sounds like a 2nd gen👍🏼😁
I have really had a soft spot for a 5 inch exhaust lately and after seeing this I feel like I need to do it even more.....
Did I just see you fist your exhaust tip lol good video bud
Maybe 🤣🤣🤣
Wow that sounds a lot better with the resignator 😮

Yeah the 2nd gen swap definitely made the sound worse than stock.
@@okc_garage 2nd gen swap sounds amazing as always, but thay resonator sure does help!

I have the OEM muffler. It's real quiet. I drove a 24v for seven yrs. I've paid my dues.
completely understand this bro. im to old for all that noise.

@@okc_garage thanks brotha. Appreciate it.
Just deciding if I want to do a 4 or 5 with this muffler.
This setup sounds really good. I want to put this on my 3rd gen do you have part numbers of the pieces you've used?
The link to everything is in the description 🤙🏼
Curious how much power you lost but man it sounds so much better.
Lol
You're not very bright
Got the same setup, I hate the ricer sound without it
Recently bought a 5.9, was looking for a noisier but not too loud muffler.
I'm running 4" straight pipe on my 5.9 with no tip and it sounds fantastic. No rasp and no drone. Just deep and clean. But, just for reference, my truck's a manual and a single cab, long bed
@@Eric2300jeep same i have a 2000 crew cab long bed 6 speed manual. I'm opting for a butterfly valve tho cuz of Cali emissions

Did u notice higher egt do to the teister muffler resegnator
I didn’t pay attention honestly.
I have a 5.9 and I’m fixing to buy and install a resonator
Now you just gotta work on getting that foot out of the throttle 💸💸💸
Those resonators are a restriction that rob horse power. I have a straight through muffler and the factory ram short straight through muffler on mine and it’s almost as quiet as stock.
Yeah I’ve seen the videos but i just can’t stand the drone and raspy ness. You got a link for what your talking about? I’ll have to take a look.
@@okc_garage czcams.com/video/F8awazQJddk/video.html
Radio Bro I’ve seen that video you have a link for the flow through mufflers?
Check out the Jones 5050xl great sound no drone and straight through design
So you are running a 4” or 5”?
Do you have a loud drone in the interior? I am worried about a nuisance drone during long road trips while towing
Just a little bit so much better than before. You can actually hold a conversation and hear the radio.
So you have JUST the twister resonator now, not the muffler and resonator correct? I do not want obnoxious while towing, that's my goal... I dont want to waste time with both if just the twister will work.
Yes sir just the twister no muffler.
Did it quiet down the whistle also? Thanks.
Not the whistle. I have a 5 blade stainless diesel turbo. The raspy drone in the cab is gone.
Sounds good with the cork screw.
What guages and gauge holder is that on your column? Nice truck!
Those are ISSPRO ev2 gauges with the auto meter gauge pod. There are links in the description 🤙🏼
Could you feel any power lose by the butt dyno? Im thinking of adding a flo pro twister on mine, im at 600hp. Dont want to lose power though, or atleast enough that id be able to feel it
I couldn’t feel a difference. The drone was pretty much gone and it was enjoyable to drive again.

It’s the concentration face 🤣🤣🤣
5 inch pipe? Is this Flo Pro? How long is the resonator you used?
18”
