    My interest in Ultrasonic brash is simple: I tried a few sonic toothbrushes and all are giving me feeling like a drill is drilling into my head (scull). Interesting that NO ONE wrote about this feeling.
    Am I the only one? I hope ultrasonic will NOT create for me such problem.

      It definitely won't. Subject to mode, you potentially don't even know they are working.

    Oral b and Sonicare are both sonic. Without the brush heads, the metal stalks move side to side the same way. The way the brush heads utilize this movement differs.
    Sonicare, with the small gap in between the handle and the head, allows the movement of the whole brush head from side to side.
    Oral B brush head, with a mechanism in place, turns this side to side movement into an oscillating movement, hence it's noisier. The noise is coming from the head's oscillating mechanism.
    So technically sonicare is more "basic" while oral b tries to mimic the brush heads of 'rotating' brush heads used in dental chairs.
    Sonicare is best used by people who want a familiar looking toothbrush, while Oral-B is best used by people who want the feel and look of dental chair brush heads.
    Both are equally good, it's the technique, pressure, and patience from the user's part that's important. Both are equally better than manual toothbrush.
    Used Oral B 500 way back when, and then currently using Sonicare 6100

    Oral iO brushes are significantly better than these Philips sonic brushes. Oral iO not only vibrate, but also spin, which is essential for removing gunk from the gumlines. Phillips can't do that with just vibrations.

    So... Ultrasonic toothbrushes are really working and no scam? I read so many things but nobody was able to show how ultrasonic toothbrushes work. Except for a short experiment 9 years ago, where you can't see the whole setup.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Před 8 měsíci +5

      There really needs to be more research to understand long term cleaning abilities and comparison to 'regular' electric brushes. But what evidence exists shows that they work.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Před rokem

      It depends what Sonicare you are looking at. A brush for $50/£50 is perfectly fine. But, if looking at 200+ then yes they are comparably priced to Ultrasonic.
      I haven't yet compared ultrasonic models as there are so few.
      The main ones being Emmi-Dent and Megasonex. Megasonex is my preference. Reviews of each:

    I have megasonex ultrasonic toothbrush for 8years now and I haven’t had problem with tartar. Before I had to go at least once a year for cleaning but now it’s once every maybe 3y and it’s so little that they do it with manual tools. I need to replace it because battery is holding just few days now and it’s annoying to charge it often. But in the video it sounds like they are saying only positives about ultrasonic and then recommend sonic at the end? 😂 is it only because of the price?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Price is one reason. But another is that the clinical evidence is limited to confirm that ultrasound is better/more effective than a regular sonic toothbrush.

      @@ElectricTeeth I see, thank you :) I personally can see that ultrasonic toothbrush is working great hut I’ve never had sonic one so nothing to compare it with 🤔 hard choice! But ultrasonic will not hurt I guess? :) or no clinical results on that yet 😬

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Před 3 měsíci +1

      There is some clinical data confirming the effectiveness, so yes they are proven. But the evidence in favour of sonic is far greater. And there is too evidence that a combination of sonic and ultrasonic is actually the best combination.

    Hey!! Please can i ask a question. Are you there??
    I just bought an Ultra Sonic model. Its phillips sonicare. Its 2nd hand... But you said ultra are meant to be silent. So i am wondering if its true ultra or not??
    When i turn it on the device makes a noise. But did you mean it only has no "sonic" additional sound to the noise the machinery works to power it???
    As the battery mechanics are making noise.
    Please can you clarify. Thanks..

    how can ultrasonic remove plaque?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  Před 4 měsíci

      It breaks up the bacterial chains to render them useless/less harmful. It doesn't remove the plaque as such. This is really where the bristles of the brush come in. Hence many ultrasonic brushes having such even through they don't need the bristles to break up the bacteria/plaque.
