The idea of using muted versions while doing monochromatic studies is a game changer! That'll help me not get as bored as quickly. I learn so much from you, thank you for existing! You've really helped flame a love of watercolor in me. Excited for the next 2!

This series is such a gem! Also, small details like the length of arrows to signify the mixing pair and intensity are greatly appreciated! Quin violet looks like it has a ton of tonal range by itself and mixed with its complementary, you get just an array of options. Triads are the ones I am curious about the most, can't wait ^_^

I read alot but am a visual learner for sure and appreciate this series so much for seeing it in practice and it's so much more informative than 'take a reddish violet and a yellowy green' on a page with an image and how very different things can turn out practicing with your own collection of colours.

I think I've just discovered I like a complementary color scheme a lot better with their neutral color between them. D, E, and F are especially pretty! I'm not sure I've thought much about monochrome in the sense of the range with its neutralizing color instead of just tonal values, so that is a really intriguing approach for me to try as well. Thanks, this was great!

I love the colours can’t pick out which are my favourite well, they are all awesome I was working a lot with doing chroma intense as a value rather than neutralizing it at all with its complimentary, I have not perfected it before {it is very fluorescent feel} but moved on to simply a dark shade to light shade using its complimentary then just the neutral shades of the monotone, but to add that complimentary to a brighter shade or high value monotone scrrrrreeeeews up the building and actual shades!

thanks so much for teaching us about color. I finally understand how this all works, for the most part anyway. I don't care to use these particular mixes at this point since it is filled with the phthalo colors. Being a watercolor newbie I do better using non staining or lightly staining colors so I can more easily wash away my mistakes, plus I make a stubborn mess of my palette, my hands, pretty much any surface when I have the very staining phthalos in there but I do understand that it is due to my own reckless style.

I've thought about setting a new palette using tube paints and plastic folding palette. Will the colors in the top cover stay in place properly when the box is closed? I will probably get Schmincke and Holbein paints after your foot steps. Maybe even try some Daniel Smith!
