Kinda wish there were more covers of the first games sound track and not just the prelude, given how good they've all sounded so far.
So beautiful it makes me want to get the volca bass just to do that
i own one but had no idea it can do this
You better should get the Shimmer FX from Valhalla for just 50 bucks to achieve that sound.
what if you don't want to use a computer ?
Alix Turcq Then you can get the Volca Bass and an FX-Pedal. Maybe the Boss RV-500. It's a great reverb pedal and also includes a shimmer effect.
Strymon Blue Sky pedal.
This sounds so magical i can’t believe my ears!
um this might be one of my favorite synth demos as I've ever seen. wonderul!
Finally a demo worth listening to, excellent.
epic! A good reverb goes a long way.
Fabulous job on this. Well done!
Sounds really good! The reverb really gives it that FF vibe.
this is fantastic! i have a volca bass, and i love the "up to 9" final fantasys. this is great.
What a huuuge reeverb 😍
Very nice! Love the sound!
I just got a sample I didn't know how versatile all these machines can be until I started watching these videos
This is beautiful!
sounds good
but its really valhalla shimmer doing all the work here
by the fury of the gods! that reverb is amazing
Yup!
hi im just wondering is there a daw or sequencer doing all the playing?
@@ruxiwang9571 nope, only the reverb is from a daw, the arp is built into the volca bass
@@solidkeys nah, he also did midi out from the daw, & the arp was created on daw piano rolls
i was waiting for the beat to kick in all time :DD
just incredible
This is so beautiful
What!!! That was so chill!!!!
This is awesome!!
Another awesome track 👍 the Volca series seems like great value. The hard part is deciding which one(s) to get :)
That sounds awesome! Korg really hit the nail on the head when they created these very affordable Volca's. I received my Bass yesterday and the Digital FM should be in by the end of the month.
these are great little machines. I have the volca sample and my volca bass should be here next week.
People like them alright! Last Summer my Keys and Bass (and some Novation keyboard controllers and mixer) was ripped-off by some lowlife scum with a crowbar. Needless to say, I got much better locks, cameras and motion detectors in my studio now.
BTW, having insurance on your music gear is a joke and a waste of money unless your studio/house burns down. I paid $35 extra a month on my music gear for 3+ years (deductible of $500) and was told by the insurers that any claim would increase my premium too. So the Insurance company robs you too. Bottom line: Save your money, prevention is more cost effective and you can use the savings for more gear.
awesome! what a shimmer!
Beautiful.
This sounds so lush ...love it :))
Outstanding!
Damnit! That was badass! Just another reason to get one of these.
This K-hole goes on forever
Yeah baby
Esto es hermoso! Porque no lo habia escuchado antes??! ! (This is beautiful!! )
i had to come back and listen again .. now i want the shimmer in my studio
Valhalla make some of the best reverbs and are very CPU friendly, and are affordable.
Fantastic!
amazing!
what a clear sound upppppp and upppp
Hiatus Fantasy... so warm and cool !!!
I like very much!
So good... 💜 Can't go wrong with FF! 🙂
Chills.
Nice takes me back to my youth

Volca Bass without bam bam bam bam. Congratulations!
Wonderfilled
Now I know what is called vibe
Easy and cool
♥
Valhalla Shimmer is the best plugin ever.
I think I might need this little squeaker
Cant make mine sound like that. Do have a big sky. Very nice mate.
Hi! I use Valhalla Shimmer valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-shimmer/
👍👍👍👍👍
nice , I route my volca through an old lexie
so wait what? is the volca creating all the sounds? Or are you running the track into it? Either way, beautiful stuff
I believe it’s midi in from a DAW, with Valhalla Shimmer fx on top
Sounds really good. Reverb kind of takes over a little bit at some points.
this awesomeness was created by Volca Bass+Nice reverb/delay only ??
Hi! Yes that's correct. I use Valhalla Shimmer reverb to get this sound.
@@RemixSample it’s absolutely incredible! 🙏 could you give online payd lesson sir
Thanks! You can check out my FX setup in this video, it's fairly simple. czcams.com/video/bZduCHcQqWA/video.html @@alexjack9372
* got yourself a sub XD
goes from final fantasy to phantasy star real quick
can you do a step by step video for this?
I would also like to see that if possible. I don't even own this but I'd love to see how it's done.
how hard is it to google the sheet music?
its just a 16th note arpeggio tho.
@@jayocaine2946 I'm pretty sure he's just running in the sequence via midi
are u receiving the notes via midi in ?
That usage of reverb really is phenomenal, as is your performance...I love this video. Question: The parameters on the reverb are automated? How did you get the automation to sync up with your performance? Is your other hand up to something?
I'm not 100% sure but I think I recorded a dry audio signal and applied reverb that I manually "automated" afterwards. Basically just adjusting the dry/wet percentage. Thanks for watching, cheers!
Gotcha. Thank you for reply. I love your work man.
does anyone know if it possible to reach this sound on a Volca FM?
WOW! I have a volca bass myself but mine just sounds like a poor mans 303.. How u getting this sound? I just use mine with a dd7 delay and a space echo for dub techno stabs
Dope! you think its possible to connect the volca to a software like logic pro and record? i have a few ideas to use with some guitars in the background and drum track
Yes absolutely as long as you have some sort of audio interface to record the Volca with. I use a Focusrite 2i2 to record my stuff with. I also use a usb-to-midi cable to send notes to the Volcas from my DAW (FL Studio)
I did the exact same thing in FL Studio in 2002...and have been fuckin' around with music ever since. Actually I was fuckin' around with music before but that's when I started enjoying electronic music.
Excellent demo bro, how do you make the video so vintage? what goes in your fx chain beside the out of focus or is it the lens?
Thanks. Yes it's the shallow focus of the lens that gives the video that look. I use a 50mm 1.4 Super Takumar lens. In post I add a little contrast because the lens is very soft.
AMAZING! What do you use as MIDI input?
Thanks! I use a Midi to USB cable that is hooked up to my computer. The midi notes are sent out from FL Studio.
RemixSample when i put the MIDI notes in MIDI Out at FL Studio and press play on FL, it plays the Sequence which is in the Volca Bass, not the one from FL. :(
Awsome dude can I just ask what camera you used
Hey I use a Sony NEX F3 with a Super Takumar 50mm 1.4 lens.
Cool...good job ! Reverb from where ???
Thanks! The reverb is called Valhalla Shimmer.
Can you tell me more about that reverb? It sounds almost ethereal, very non naturalistic but its completely awesome
Sure it's called Valhalla Shimmer and you can find more info and a downloadable demo here: valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-shimmer/
RemixSample do you know what sort of settings you used to get this ethereal effect?
I'm pretty sure I used the default setting but the mix knob was set to 1.00 or close to 100%. If you turn up the feedback knob you get more pitched shimmer.
I have another question. What were you using to sequence the volca?
amazing littlr things u only needa degree of a tweek with those nanasynths
Are you using pedals flr this? cabt produce that kind of soft sound at all haha..
Hi, no I only used the Shimmer reverb I linked to in the description.
How did you program so many notes. I thought it was only 16 steps and notes at a time?
Sorry if this is a silly question im new to synths
You are correct so I used the midi to usb cable to send notes from FL Studio. I used the internal 16 step sequencer at around 2:00
Thank you so much for the reply. I'll have to have a go connecting mine into GarageBand. Fantastic work on the track by the way it brought back so many childhood memories
Very cool ! How did you connect volca to play like that?
Hi, I used a USB to Midi cable to play the notes and I recorded the audio straight into FL Studio via my soundcard.
RemixSample thanks a lot for sharing...
+RemixSample so that means that you converted the original track to a midi track? forgive my curiosity but iam trying to do the same thing with my volca bass cause it's awesome :) (FYI: im using LMMS)
Just download "Final Fantasy Prelude" midi file from the internet and import it into LMMS. Good luck.
RemixSample urule+10xalot
Hi! I'm a synth virgin... Is this performance possible live with single device(and maybe effects) or was that tracked and composed in daw?
The melody sequence is too long to fit on the internal sequencer of the Volca Bass so you would have to use an external midi source like a DAW. The part around 2:00 is being played on the internal 16 step sequencer so you can do stuff like that without anything extra but to make it sound good you'd need to use external effects anyways. Volca Bass and the Zoom MS-70CDR (it has similar stereo shimmer reverb fx like the one in this video) is a pretty good stand alone combo.
Thanks for your in-depth reply, I appreciate it immensely! I ponder getting something from Volca range as a toy/relaxation/fidget thingy. Maybe FM or Keys, they appear to be more suitable for standalone usage, as I understand. Because getting a couple of volcas is a bit outside of my toy budget and made me discover things like EMX-1, which gave me both tech and audiophile boner immediately. But I would inevitably fail to learn to use it to any audibly-pleasant extent. Then again it would be enough just to oogle on and bemuse my friends by knowledge of what couple of those knobs do... :)
Thanks!
I'll watch more of your videos silently for now.
Sounds great! What's playing the other synths? The pads.
I was wondering the same thing. Could be just reflections from Valhalla's shimmer?
Jennifer Gwinn thats the reverb i guess
@Jennifer G There are no other synths. The Shimmer FX does the trick. It's pitch shifting the incoming signal and uses feedback on this. This is the "magic". Pretty simple. I definitely advice you to take a look at it at the Valhalla DSP website.
All you can see in this video is a synth (Volca Bass in this case) is playing a midi file (downloaded from a website that offers free midi files) and goes through the Valhalla Shimmer. It's ridiculously simple as that.
hey dude you should try the new volcas that just came out now
Yes they do look fun but I don't have any money for that at the moment.
@@RemixSample well that is understandable but if you get the chance i recommend trying it especially the volca drum
Yeah the Volca Drum would probably make an excellent Moog DFAM buddy! :)
You did this with a volca
Yes and Valhalla Shimmer reverb.
@@RemixSample the sequence at the begining is not done with the volca, It be great to know, what was done with.
@@talentedleather7333 Yes if you want more than 16 notes from the internal sequencer you have to either switch patterns manually or use an external sequencer
なんかディズニーランドで流れそうw
Try home - resonance
Videos like this made me go an buy the Volca Bass, Keys and Drums and then I realized they don;t sound like this, and they're annoying to sequence!
Well yeah sorry to hear that. I'm just doing my thing, I don't work for KORG or anything. You definitly need reverb to make em sound more interesting. If you buy a USB to Midi cable (5-10 dollars) you can sequence them from your computer.
@@RemixSample That was a complete rant on my part. I like the music. You're videos are great. And I did do a bunch of research aside from listening to people making music with them. But I guess my ear wasnt quite as trained to hear the additional reverb and effects as it is now. And the volcas have helped me get to grips with all the terminology and show me I am actually into synths
I'm just jealous because I can only make a half hour of garbage on them before giving up.
@@RemixSample Can you share more on sequencing them from my computer? I have ableton live lite, and an Akai MPK249 which I've started using so I can play arpeggios on them which is helping but if I could sequence them without needing to do as much with the sequences on them that would be great. I like the sound. I just can't make melodies with the sequencers
@@LukeWatts85 I would recommend downloading a bunch of midi files. And load of one them into the pianoroll and send that midi data to the Volca. I usually only use the sequencer inside of my DAW but you can also record 16 steps on any sequence into the Volca Bass and save it. Just press the record button the Volca and hit play in Ableton. That's what I did around 2:00 into this video. Not sure if that makes any sense to you.
@@RemixSample I'll give that a go this evening. Thanks!
GTFOH. GT ACTUAL FOH. I'm getting one tomorrow.
Doesn't sound like a Bass Guitar, to me ... ??
Beautiful.
