The BEST And WORST Parts Of Every Grand Theft Auto Game

- Ladies and gentlemen, Grand Theft auto. One of the most popular and influential game franchises of all time… has had it's ups and downs. Much like most things, you have to take the good with the bad too enjoy the things you like. But in the issue of looking at both ends of the spectrum what are the best and worst parts of every GTA game? Well that's what I'm here to take a look at.
#gta #grandtheftauto #gtamissions - Hry
My biggest problem with 4 is the realization that you can literally do nothing with your money. There arent any businesses or assets you can buy. Its only there for weapons, paint and spray and 5 dollar food. And i dont even use two of these.
Aside from the hospitals bills i never realy use my money in GTA 4
Yeah but I'd like to think that's by design, because storywise, what would Niko spend that money on? He doesn't want anything so he has no real use for the money.
Gameplay wise yeah it sucks that the money is useless
its focused on the story just like red dead redemption 2. once you finished all the side quests and main mission there is nothing to do but to restart the game.
@@TheRastafarianStuffdude RDR2 has an entire world of activities where you can spend your money on, hunting and stuff, I am not sure if it's a good example
@@skyl9385 fair enough, but its also true that after the prologue if you already completed all collectibles and side activities there is nothing left worth doing, it really feels like the far west at 98%
"The worst thing about GTA 3 is the brittleness of the cars."
Saint Mark's District after Sayonara Salvatore: *Rubbing hands* "Good. Goooood."
God! i hate those mafia goons with shotguns and Army on 6 wanted level with fast firing M16s
For me the best thing about Gta 3 is the unique atmosphere,it feels dystopian and hopeless even if the game has an more fast action packed tone.
Yeah, I always loved the dichotomy between the glistening sheen of Shoreside Vale and Staunton, juxtaposed with the industrial grayscale slumzone that is Portland, and all the dirty corruption buried underneath, and sometimes in plain sight, across the entire city.
Yeah, it kinda gave you this sense of it being an alternate reality. Not a very different one, but just things are bleaker so all this violence just comes with this downfall of society.
The later games got a little too comedic with it for my taste, it's less of a crumbling world and more of this average same as us reality but the hyper violence is all played for laughs almost and everybody from the characters to the setting just laugh about it so they can fit in more Fox News and celebrity jokes
@@bluecanine3374 For me it feels like it was more of coincidence that it end up like this,GTA always had comedic moments and a satirical nature even on the more serious games, and even here is not much different
Hell,Just look at GTA 4
Lung capacity requirement indeed sucks balls
It make me can't continue storyline mission in san andreas once
I think the Car School is worse
@@peony5578car school is mental, but was it required or optional? I found flight school way easier than driving school, but I’m a flight sim nerd
@@Masonicon”it make me cant” 💀
@@votekyle3000it's optional and by completing it you unlock side missions with Caesar
in GTA IV the 200 pigeons are nightmare, first at all 200 is too much and you can lose track, also you get nothing after 200 pigeons, even no reward after 100% completion, what a freaking waste of time
I used a guide for the pigeons and even then I ended up missing a single pigeon that prevented me from getting 100% in the game and I was so mad that day I could’ve ended up being classified as insane and been sent to some asylum lol. I do not wish the pain that I felt on that day on anyone
@@skateplays8880 indeed, i wish the game had the feature from GTA VCS where it display the collected one on map
@@skateplays8880SAME. 3 years ago, I did absolutely everything to get 100%, but because I missed a pigeon, I was stuck at like 99.8% completion. There's literally no way of knowing which ones you have and haven't done and so I eventually just threw in the towel. Beautiful game, but 100% is an absolute nightmare solely because of the pigeons.
My worst thing about san andreas had always been the gang territories. So boring. And the way they're introduced in the first chapter makes them so worthless cause there's no point in having them early, its just bait to waste your time and then undo all that progress.
The worst part of that are the territories that are super narrow where the enemies won't spawn so you have to kite enemies into it and take them out once they cross the boundary and not sooner.
Money and ammo.
Damn I loved those. Used them as opportunities to level every weapon class
Just use mini gun that spawns at terenos cabin after vertical bird😂(the mission u steal the hydra” also for the small gang territories, always do those first before moving on to bigs one, you could knock them out ina hour
I liked them, but I didn't like the bug or whatever it was that prevented me from completing them all. Eventually the other gangs stopped spawning in their own territories and I couldn't initiate them anymore.
My fav part of GTA: SA was how customizable it was. From CJ's look to his body size to the different fighting styles he learn. Least fav was Toreno's training schools and Zero's missions.
I HATE Zero's missions!
Agreed! I struggled so hard on these!
i never really struggled on zeros mission hell this is probably an unpopular opinion but i hated his last mission more cause it took so long than supply lines 😂
If you were on Console Zero sucked, PC Zero was ez
I liked Zero’s last mission, but that was it.
@@ShiroyashaVince Rockstar fixed Zero’s missions afterwards. That means that only people that got the v1.00 PS2 San Andreas release have been plagued with the insane difficulty in Supply Lines. Speaking from experience, since I finished both versions, you can easily tell if you have v1.00 (only available on PS2) or another version.
The fun thing about the hunger meter in San Andreas is you can negate it completely by just saving the game. If you're on PC, you're probably doing that often enough anyway due to any number of random crashes that might occur, so it's relatively a non issue.
Fuck Sweet, though.
In all of my hours playing GTA SA I don't think I've even once lost HP because of hunger
I think the reason you stated is why 😋
The worst thing about LCS is that the main antagonist had a good plan and perfectly executed it but was underutilized.
He also practically never appears so by the time he shows up as the final boss, I’d completely forgotten about him as he only appeared once in a single Portland mission before so I was thinking “the hell is this guy?”
Besides that, my other three least favourite things are no swimming & no empire system both unlike the next game, boats practically never appear and certainly not outside missions unlike GTA 3 and you can’t fly aircraft anymore until VCS (possibly due to 9/11 concerns?)
Vinnie shouldn't be killed that early really
@@lionocyborg6030Lcs didn't have helicopters because most of the buildings weren't finished due to them having missing textures
@@Miltypooh2001 Was that one reason why the dodo was clipped in GTA 3 too? I think I remember something like that. Didn't stop people flying it anyway in that game. I think in LCS it's possible to glitch hijack a police helicopter (I vaguely recall one of the 2 wikis said so) but I've never seen it done unlike the dodo.
@@lionocyborg6030 yeah in lcs there were ways you can steal them during certain missions, as for the dodo in gta 3 I remember rockstar stated that the dodo clipping through buildings was a glitch I think it was supposed to fly around the map instead of flying through it, they also said the dodo wasn't meant to be flown they just thought it would be funny to see players try to fly it.
The frame rate on the GTA IV section... jesus, I don't remember the frame rate being THAT bad on the Xbox 360/PS3 back in the day.
Rose tinted glasses are hell of a thing, brother.
I thought it was running pretty good on XBOX, it's on PS3 where it was really shitty, since devs couldn't utilise it's structure properly. RDR 1 was really bad too in that regard on PS3, they only solved the issue in GTA V.
I remember. It dropped quite often to somewhat 20-23 FPS on PS3.
it is also very common to this day to have stutters and a bit of a poor performance in GTA 4 Complete Edition on the PC without the help of mods such as DXVK
Ps3 is way worse than xbox 360 tbh, on 360 my fps only dropped on very taxing occasions, while ps3 just lags throughout the whole game
My personal least favourite part of GTA 3 is easily the lack of a world map.
EDIT: To address some of the things here I play the game on the original PS2 release. Yes I do have the map that came with the game but I also have a cat who would love to jump all over it and the map is kinda bulky. If I played the game more often than once every 8-10 years I imagine I'd probably have it memorized. Not having the map available in game is just my least favourite part.
This was fixed in both the mobile and the definitive edition
@@mr.andrew7820 Two editions I have no interest in playing.
@@tinkerer3399 Definitive Edition is better now
That’s because the original game had a map included which is what they intended you to use. For me, I’ve played the game so much that I know the city like the back of my hand. If you’re trying to play it now pull up the map on your phone or computer or something.
@@KegOfMeat That seems dishonest. The reason the game didn't have an in game map most definitely was not because they included a physical map, it was because the genre was in its infancy and including an in game map wasn't standard yet. I have the original release, I have the original map, I followed all the original dev interviews. All I said was that the lack of an in game map was my least favourite part of 3.
EDIT: Sorry I should have said misleading, not dishonest.
Best thing about GTA Online: Being able to sell product from your businesses in am Invite-Only lobby. You won't get any bonus, but your stuff won't get destroyed either.
Worst thing about GTA Online: The heists that force you to play with others. Friends aren't any problem, it's the randoms who do stupid things causing the setups and heist finale to fail repeatedly. Also the ones who only do the mandatory prep on the Diamond Casino Heist but not the optional which would make it easier
You can actually complete Amphibious Assault with the base lung capacity. CJ won't drown or make the drowning sounds until the last underwater tunnel. So this mission 100% serves as 'story padding'
My favourite GTA games:
- Chinatown Wars
- 4 (with DLCs)
Bruh, I remember putting this game down in 2005 and coming back FOUR YEARS LATER because the Flight school was that damn hard and annoying lol
11yr old me was in shambles in that plane lmao
I remember watching you before the twisted metal videos got popular and now you're nearly at 100k. Well deserved man
Same here
I watched him during the tgx times. still miss the skits lol
The Twisted Metal vids brought me here, but just about everything he puts out is top quality so hell yeah
I literally just started playing the GTA series again and then you drop this video.
Creeping me out dude.
I’d say the worst things about Vice City are the lack of swimming unlike VCS, the awkward & annoying first person perspective on big machine guns & GTA 1 aiming for miniguns, the rather weak sauce betrayal of Tommy to Sonny, my man Victor Vance dying in the intro and the boring & fake difficult as fuck sunshine autos fetch quests you have to do to get the asset. I’ll take making some coffee and tea while the nudeless strip club scene plays over scouring the map for very specific vehicles that almost never spawn when I need them & I can never remember what the less interesting ones look like or are called any day.
Also aircraft handle like shit compared to Just Cause 1 but that’s a series wide thing as I know it from VCS.
In defense of Learn to Fly, if you get gud in the flying enough, you eventually unlock a free Hunter spawn at your airfield sans cheats, so if you're going lighter on the cheats, you can earn your ticket to going on brutal rampages up and down the strip of Las Venturas. I've had tons of fun blowing up cars up and down the strip once I got through all of that with good enough marks. Also, I've opted to finding the pearls via a map I've printed off for Lung Capacity.
Yeah that free Hunter always feels satisfying unlocking when you gold every flight lessons. It also helps and makes vigilante 10x easier
It sure does. Pretty sure the game's a big buggy and doesn't recognize when you're shooting cars with the turrets as 'crimes', so as long as you don't use the missile launchers to blow them up, you're in the clear and can go very far in Vigilante and make a lot of money. Not sure if that changed in the Definitive Edition.
I think anyone on foot counts as a crime for the gun turrets, but not cars, so if you blow up their cars before they can get out, you can keep going with little to no wanted level.
@@SilverJ17 No from what i remember the gun turret also auto aims at cars
1:55 The way you said "Da Shootaz" got me on the floor rolling
I'm trying to complete GTA 4 for the first time this year and I totally agree about the lengrh.
I'm at the point where I'm working with the pegorinos and I'm so tired that I searched up how many missions are left till the end.
At this point I'm only playing because I'm close to the end
Edit: finally beat it. Thank Rockstar for taxis & the skip function. I'm glad I went for the revenge ending.
I don't have any motivation to start the DLCs anytime soon
honestly I disagree with TBC on this front, I never got bored any of the times I played through GTA IV, though to be fair it was my very first GTA game so that probably has something to do with it. Also think he's dead fucking wrong about GTA V's story, I loved how all over the place it was, it made the world feel like it was bigger then just the protagonists.
Yeah... GTA IV takes a huge nose dive in quality after the bank of liberty heist and Ray Boccino storyline. The McReary storyline becomes a drag once they introduce Gerald & Derrick, Phil Bell is mostly a filler character, Pegerino is for the most part a pretty uninteresting Italian mafia boss antagonist that took away any chances of Ray Bulgarin (the more interesting character) having a more significant role in the base game and both endings of the game are pretty underwhelming (SPOILERS below). The only real saving grace with GTA IV's fourth act is the Gracie kidnapping storyline and confronting Darko Brevic. The repetitive and barebones missions and the fourth act of the game are my two big main issues with GTA IV and the reason why I consider GTA IV to be my least favorite mainline GTA.
Revenge (the "good" ending) makes sense for Niko's character but having Pegerino as the final boss and Niko's motivational drive being Kate (a character most people didn't care about) dying felt anticlimactic. Deal (The bad ending) is overall much more interesting as they kill off Roman, a character you care much more about and having Dimitri as the final boss felt much more fitting. Only problem is, Niko making a deal with Dimtri. the man who betrayed him, kidnapped his cousin and burned Roman's apartment and business down doesn't make much sense for his character, this leads to both endings feeling anticlimactic and underwhelming as a result. And it doesn't help that the final mission of the game is another shitty tailing mission.
@@jacksonteller3973 I'd probs have a different opinion if I had actually gone start-to-finish when I first got the game back in '09
Yeah. The problem is not that is long, is that the missions are sooo repetitive so u get tired. That's something it dont happen in the ballad of gay tony because almost all the misions are unique. Like San andreas is basically as long as GTA 4 but san andreas with san andreas u never feel like it was too long because missions were actually different gameplay wise.
@jacksonteller3973 I get the point about GTA 5 showing how big the world is, but it is hard to really care about said world due to how thin it is spread. And GTA has had a lot of really good and threatening villains so for the ones in GTA 5 to be so bland and cookie cutter is a sin imo. It makes it so hard to get invested in anything. You can make a huge, interesting world without having to sacrifice quality elements such as characters and focus. It feels like you are making an excuse for the game.
Always dropping bangers!
27:19..Lol That slideshow tho.. .Loved the Video, The nostalgia hit, especially with that liberty city theme
Omg I actually got a notification for this channel. I swear I miss 75% of your releases
I’m a GTA Vice City fan the most. I love the soundtrack, the ‘80s, the dialogue and mechanics. Ricardo Diaz had the funniest scenes and lines. What I didn’t like, the inability to swim, some of the missions such as Checkpoint Charlie, and Dildo Dodo, Vic being killed, and Lance being such an incompetent jerk as well as a traitor.
I love the ‘80s, and it was fun to play a game based in ‘80s Miami.
Play vice city stories it's better tbh
love your vids. good luck hitting 100k!
I'm rather worried about the vehicle catching fire as a result to gunfire in GTA III because it's hard to tell that the vehicle is badly damaged, since it doesn't make the engine smoke. There's a handy glitch that can make any car damageproof, but not bulletproof.
I agree with all the other points. Another thing I like about GTA LCS is that once the other islands get unlocked, during 'Taxi Driver' every 12th fare will choose a destination on another island. TBH, I found it one of the most fun GTAs to beat 100%, despite the lack of many features.
my favorite part of GTA 5 has to be the Sandbox, it takes everything you could do in GTA 4 and adds in a bunch of things from SA, and amplifies them all
I think the only thing that can be said that are the "best" about the Defective Editions of the GTA 3 Trilogy is, well, the same best parts from their superior contemporaries, plus having checkpoints. Its "worst" parts are the same, plus, well, how badly the HD ports were handled.
The best thing about DE is that its release led to the source code of GTA 3, VC and SA being leaked after 20 years
Another great video ! I’m a big Vice City fan, and i definitely agree on both the soundtrack and Pole Position club points, i’d like to add to the positives the voice acting, especially of Ricardo Diaz, every cutscene with him is hilarious lmao. The map is really nice too, areas like Ocean Beach, Little Haiti and Starfish Island all feel unique and distinct, although i feel like Downtown is a bit repetitive. For the negatives i really have a gripe with the no swimming mechanic, because to me it goes against the games’s theme and atmosphere, and it doesn’t compliment gameplay either, it’s just lame. A minor nitpick for me is the loading screens between islands, to me it’s just interrupt the flow of the action
Another one,the game is too easy sometimes, specially in the Pc version
for me the worst part is the mission Death Row, it takes way too long to complete and it's way too easy to die and you get no money for finishing it.
Ricardo Diaz had the funniest lines and scenes. I met his voice actor, Luis Guzman. Really awesome guy.
If you had said 100K instead of 100 thousand it woulda been bars ngl
Hey everybody, before we start today
I just wanted to say
We're a stone throw's away
From 100k
Lol
The best thing in the Definitive Trilogy is that GTA III now has a fullscreen map with pay n sprays and ammunations marked but that was a thing they carried over from the 10th anniversary mobile port which also had it and which the definitive edition was based off
The 2nd best thing about San Andreas........the god damn multiplayer mod.
SAMP was one of THE best things ever modded into a videogame. It's so good that many future games' multiplayer pretty much just copied what SAMP did.
6:21 Oh, and a visit to St. Marks after Sayonara Salvatore really showcases the brittleness of the vehicles when the Mafia bust out the shotguns.
Great vid man thanks!
I’m happy that I’m not the only person who didn’t like GTA 5’s story…
It’s awful lol
@@kennypowers1945 I’m not going to lie, I don’t care for GTA 5’s story, and don’t care for almost everyone who isn’t the three protagonists…
Tbf yhe
Great video!
glad you did this my man
Great, entertaining video. New subscriber here and looking forward to future content! ❤
Please try the Yakuza series, you'll love it, 8/10 gameplay and very well written
About GTA IV i would say, for the first playthrough back in those times the absolute best thing was the RAGE engine, Euphoria for ragdoll physics, and cars' handling and weight. All of that can be summarised as gameplay, i suppose. It was truly something incredible after GTA SA physics to see something this grounded and realistic... in a GTA game!
But, what essentially has passed the test of time - it's the main protagonist and his story line, as you chose as well. The more you play it the more you love it, even when the gameplay is already out of date (i still like it though, it's different in a good way from GTA V for example).
Nah, man, Vic is gold, one of my favorite characters, only behind CJ and Claude.
Yeah Vic is such an underrated character. His motivation and reasoning for doing all the things he does is honorable(even if the way he goes about it isn't)since he just wants to help his sick brother. He's clearly a flawed character, and TBP kind of overlooks the fact that vic says so himself at the end of the game in the final mission
@@Speedlinks Vic Vance is an absolute mess of a character, don't get me started on him in VCS with his conscious being all over the place. Became a junky not 2 years after and taken out by Chef Leo Teal and friends like nothing. Not even Rockstar give a shit about him, they didn't even bother fixing his stupid accent in the beginning of VC.
Tbf the clunky mechanics and inability to swim in LCS kind of feels less out of place when you think of it as a prequel to gta 3.. it feels more like we've gone back to the old vibe of liberty city from SA so the old and dusty controls and physics kind of fit in
Plus that Liberty City ocean water looks fucking disgusting and beyond polluted -- getting even a tiny amount in your lungs would probably instantly give Toni terminal cancer or something lmao
Your content is entertaining
The gang territory mechanic in san andreas was alright during the beginning but in the finale it was tedious, during the mission beat down on b dub, he tells cj and sweet that big smoke's lieutenants know where he's hiding, so you'd assume they would go around los santos and interrogate these lieutenants about big smoke's whereabouts, but nope instead we gotta take over 30% of the gang territories.
it actually makes sense. his lieutenants are controlling hoods, so you must take over hoods to gain respect from those hoods, and that is when they tell you where smoke is at. it makes sense. the mission from the first few seconds of this video makes no sense whatsoever. most of the time the npcs dont even get out of the vehicle and your mission is failed.
Good stuff
I stopped playing in the middle in TBOGT when I played GTA IV for the same reasons you said.
GTA 2's cars had the diesel punk aesthetics.
GTA 1 & 2: I basically agree with you on everything
GTA III Pro: Atmosphere and map design(also amazing original songs on the radio.)
GTA III Con: Lock on is pretty poor when using a controller (and screw them one shot shotgun leone's post sal klap.)
GTA VC Pro: Like GTA III Atmosphere and map design. Also the best 80s hits music like you said.
GTA VC Con: Massive grind for endgame.
GTA SA Pro: The story during the first act.
GTA SA Con: Abysmal pacing, filler missions, & oversized map (honorable mentions for flight school & lung capacity requirement).
GTA Advanced: I pretty much agree with you on everything. I don't like the game much but the setup for GTA III is nice.
GTA LCS Pro: Best mob based game (GTA is always intertwined with the mob it was nice to be in it for once very good plot.)
GTA LCS Con: No PC port. It being a psp game already made it lose out on some things like you said but a pc port would have allowed us to do a lot.
GTA VCS Pro: I agree with you for the most part on the pro but want to add in the soundtrack is almost rivaling og VC.
GTA VCS Con: Certain plot events are dumb. I love the story of VCS but lots of problems could of been avoided if Vic used his head for 30 seconds. (Also the no pc port con of LCS.)
GTA IV Pro: The theme song. It really is able to rival every other GTA theme (and has a fantastic physics engine even if the handling of cars is shit.)
GTA IV Con: The game aims for realism but those last few missions in the game were very GTA V like when it comes to the amount of enemies you have to kill. Also terrible PC performance. Even after "the fix" modding it is unstable and it should perform a lot better than it currently does.
GTA Chinatown wars Pro: I'm so with you on the drug mini game lol.
GTA Chinatown wars Con: Returning to the old style camera was a terrible call and no voice acting (I know this is mainly because its a ds game but maybe it shouldn't have been a ds game.)
GTA TLAD Pro: The brotherhood aspect and ability to call on Terry & Clay during the story/running the lost.
GTA TLAD Con: I don't like how easy it was for Brian Jeremy to flip the gang on Johnny very stupid. Johnny is the VP and Brian Jeremy is a known jerkoff and only a treasurer that dick rode Billy how could his word have more weight than Johnny in any scenario. As for your con for tlad I don't agree with at all because its literally a supplemetry dlc to the main game. Its not a game. The right way to experience GTA IV would be to bounce between all three chronologically which I've done multiple times even for my master cut GTA IV game movie.
GTA TBoGT Pro: Color scheme + Social/Night life additions
GTA TBoGT Con: Luis should of had a more robust girlfriend system over Niko alongside the current hookup system considering how he is.
GTA V Pro: I'm with you on the seamless trinity setup
GTA V Con: This was the game that ruined rockstar permentantly as they made so much money from GTA Online they went back on their word for single player dlc and begun to abandon future prospects for GTA Online like RDR2.
GTA Online Pro: Early GTA online back when 1 million was considered legit rich the game was actually fun and the payouts werent bad since not everything was millions of dollars.
GTA Online Con: Other than what I listed in the previous con the economy is so trash in GTA online its just not even worth playing anymore especially since the new updates are not fun.
GTA remastered Trilogy Pro: Native controller support on PC without mods. (Its nice but that's literally it and not worth it since the mods work fine)
GTA remastered Trilogy Con: You can get significantly better visuals and performance with mods on the original games.
I am a little surprised you called out GTA IV on length and not SA considering IV only has 88 missions and SA has 101 missions and requires you to do the gang war stuff to an extent to complete the game while having a way larger map too with some of those missions requiring going from one city to another. There is more variety but its still way too damn long.
Subbed!
For me the worst thing about San Andreas was also the "remaster", there's just so much wrong with it. I remember in one of the first cutscenes Tenpenny and Pulaski drive straight through a passing train lol
VCS also introduced some other QoL features. It marked collected items (such as red balloons and stunt jumps) on the map, so it was easier to see what you were missing. AFAIK no other GTA game has done this (I never played Chinatown Wars)
CTW has that too, it can be done by selecting a category of extras from the points of interest menu. It's definitely one of the forgotten features, although I can't understand why that is.
According to Andrew Hamilton there are plenty of nice guys in prison. He is, however, in Australia.
gta 3:saint mark district after killing salvatore
My least favourite part about San Andreas is the entirety of San Fierro because imo it vastly outstays its welcome. There are just too many side missions in this place and none of them are very interesting
Zero's missions
Driving School
3 import/export lists
Valet
Wang Cars
Courier
Gym moves
2 stadium missions
Snapshots
that 100k creepin on up!!!
Huh? Did you play vice city stories on ps2 or emulator because I remember on the psp version that there were problems with it loading where it you'd have to drive around without proper textures loading if you drove too fast or it despawning any vehicles you might have left before going into any mission that had a specific vehicle in the world as a part of it.
Interesting choice about LCS, i liked it
31:05 this part took me out 😂😂😂😂 why you do him like that?! Lmao
Da shootaz joyride the real gta anthem
I thought I've been subscribed since the thieves in time video but I was mistaken. Fixed now
expanding off what you consider the worst part of vice city, id just go out and include pretty much that entire final chunk of the game where you need to do all these missions buying up buisnesses. Some of them are mildly fun but I just think theyre too out there and repetitive with their own newly introduced structures, I just like the kind of flow that was being followed previous to that personally
34:27 all though everyone hates the definitive edition id have to say the best thing is definitely the gps guide and the controls
The worst
Graphics
Game play messes all the time
And the cutscenes are very odd
+ Original is always best even if it's hard as hell
My biggest problem with GTA V is the missions themselves. In the previous games, you knew why you were doing what you were doing. But in GTA V, nobody bothers to tell you why you're doing what you're doing, so what you're doing doesn't correlate to anything in the story.

Congratulations silver play button imminent you'll be at 100K in no time IMO one of the hardest parts of the Grand Theft Auto series was playing GTA Vice City and on PC in particular in the mission where you have to control the RC helicopter and blow up the construction site absolutely brutal I haven't played much of PC since the mid-2000s I've been a console gamer since but I remember in particular that level was incredibly brutal the controls were just awful to fly that RC helicopter in those tight quarters
I will admit.. I love the Definitive Edition Trilogy. I loved those games so much when I was younger, so the fact that they look so much better than the original to me was enough to give up my money. 🤷
So what you are saying is you like looks over substance

The drug mini-game in Chinatown Wars is fantastic, and it's essentially a slightly-more involved version of 'Drug Wars' from 1984. I love it for all the reasons you listed, it's simple but an insane amount of fun, and bar-none the best way to get a ton of cash in the game. It's a bummer they haven't really brought the mechanic back -- the closest is the ability to sell some drugs your character produces in their shops/fronts on the street in GTAO, and it took them a literal decade to add that feature to the game (it got added in early 2023.) If they don't bring back the business venture and drug stock market in GTA VI, where it would make a ton of thematic sense anyway, I will be a very disappointed goober.
Man i cant believe your almost at a 100k!! Congratulations man heres seeing you reach 200k in the future!!

I 100% fully agree with you on the ranking system in tbogt
Having a dedicated Fart/Burp button will never not be the one and only time I could do so in a game, Well almost, Crash Tag Team Racing had one during the loading screen.
It would be cool if this best and worst part idea became a reccuring series

4:25 For GTA 2 it’s definitely the Kill Frenzies once you get past the Downtown Area. If you know you know
the worst thing about GTA 4 is the PC Port. it's so fucking unoptimized that I can't even play the game without it lagging or crashing almost all the time
try fusion fix
I play it on steam deck with no issues
For me:
GTA 3- Best is that it’s the game that started the 3D GTA games.
Worst is that it’s so primitive compared to all the other GTA games, which means it hasn’t aged that well.
Vice City- Best is the businesses. It makes getting money so much more important and it also makes you able to, in a way, take over Vice City.
Worst is that you’re not able to swim.
San Andreas- Best is that there is just so much to do. The developers really went all out when making this game.
Worst is that sometimes, the developers were just too ambitious. Some of the stuff they added were great ideas, but just become kind of frustrating because the technique just wasn’t there in 2004 to really make these things work properly.
GTA 4- Best is the new engine.
Worst is the game is just boring. The missions are very repetitive and there isn’t much fun to be had.
TLAD- Best is that they made riding a bike fun, for the first time in the GTA games.
Worst is that they didn’t really add much else.
TBOGT- Best is that it’s way more fun than GTA 4, the missions aren’t as repetitive and feel more like how they were in previous GTA games.
Worst is that it’s a bit too short. I personally like it more than regular GTA 4, but you can tell it’s just DLC.
GTA 5- Best is that it’s the first time, to me, in a GTA game where the developers knew exactly what they were capable of. The game is impressive and I never felt like they implemented something that they weren’t capable of.
Worst is most of the side activities are a bit boring.
GTA Online- Best is you can play as your character. I love it when games allow you to make your character and give you the freedom to do whatever you want.
Worst is that it’s a bit boring early on in the game, when you don’t have much money. If I didn’t have friends to play the game with early on, I definitely wouldn’t still be playing the game now.
Definitive Edition- Best is it added checkpoints.
Worst is that there are new glitches and mistakes that weren’t in the originals. San Andreas on the definitive edition is worse than it was back in 2004.
Gta 5 was super lacking in fun
was not expecting a UHF clip in here, 10/10 vid
In san andreas if you fly far off the map itll eventually start dropping random gang territories if i remember correctly. I loved flying the dodo in gta3 :3
Anyone who doesn't like the original GTA, most likely, didn't play it during it's release. It's a classic that spawned the most popular franchise (in sales) in history (i think, anyway... final fantasy maybe? Correct me if I'm wrong).
GTA 2 was the worst game they ever released. The guns were stupid and ridiculous, and the respect system was garbage and unnecessary.... which is why they cut it.
I remember after playing the originated Driver, thinking that if GTA changed to a similar graphical look they'd have the most popular game they ever made and i was so pleased when they did. It was a wish come true.
10:21 i never knew this is why i couldnt get past this mission, interesting
to me the worst part of gta 2 is the mission design, some missions just take way too long and you can die or get busted really fast in that game
For me the best thing about GTA online is how fun the grind is on everything and the worst is the griffers and cheaters
worst thing in vcs must be the high wire mission.
it took me 2 weeks to complete it, i eventually got a burnt out that i can only attempt to try the mission 2-3 times per day before getting tried of it.
you might scratch yourself to the wall while try to pickup the first container, missed by a few inch on the second container and it won't pick it up. and saving the dude is just pure agony, he turns corner non-stop and in just a few bump, your helicopter burnt up instantly.
I managed to complete the mission out of pure luck, maybe God feels sorry for me, but I will not touch that game for the rest of my life.
the hunger mechanic wasn't that bad, CJ can eat 11 meals in one visit to any fast food place, eat anymore and CJ Vomits. just eat 11 salad meals and CJ should be good for a whole in game week (about 3 IRL hours)
no the absolute worst part of San Andreas is something required for 100% and it's the BMX races down Mount Chiliad. from my experience it sucks rotten ass, I got lucky during my last run where D.B. Cooper crashed into my opponents killing them during the last race.
One good tip for lung capacity - after finishing Photo Opportunity swim back to San Fierro and make sure you swim underwater
GTA 1: Yeah, all fair, but the game *was* good at the time. A lot of that is shifting context; nowadays open worlds are taken for granted, while in GTA it was a novelty. In modern times we expect minimaps, while GTA instead gave you *actual physical maps* and expected you to learn the cities, that sort of thing. Totally agree on the music, absolutely bangers.
GTA 2: Always bounced off this one. I wasn't actually fond of the respect system, it just seemed like it forced me on arbitrary murder sprees to get the next mission, rather than having them naturally unlock through gameplay. The worst thing for me was the weird future-noir aesthetic; in the original GTA, I understood what cars were going to be like based on how they looked, but in GTA 2, everything just looked like a weird truck to me. The lightning gun was fun, though.
GTA 3: The best and worst thing in this game is that you can choose a top-down, GTA-style camera angle. Complete nonsense in a 3D game, utterly unplayable, wonderful callback. Terrible choice, I love it.
Vice City: The music is great, no denying it, but an honourable mention for bringing motorbikes to the 3D games.
San Andreas: The worst thing about this game is that my disc had some error that meant it would always crash right at the end of the final goddamn mission of the game. Played through the whole damn thing, and never got to see the ending.
Advance: Never played it, no comment.
Liberty City Stories: I had this, and I don't know why I didn't play more of it. Your Worst Thing sounds like the likely reason.
Vice City Stories: I skipped over this because LCS not grabbing me primed me to not expect much from LCS, so I never gave it a chance. Maybe I should fix that!
GTA 4: The cars are all so slow and dull, urrgggh. In general, it felt like things were a little more toned-down from the earlier and later games: you touch on this later when you mention the missing tanks and gunships, which I'd forgotten about until you mentioned it, but definitely made things feel just energetic than the rest. (I actually didn't finish it, sadly: there was one mandatory mission, a shootout, that I just could not get past.)
Chinatown Wars: Bring back the "bash police off the road to lose stars" mechanic, you cowards!
TLATD / TBOGT: Never played.
GTA 5: The worst bit is them shutting the iFruit app and never replacing it, making it impossible to play with or train Chop. I want to pet the dog, dammit! (Also, on the loading times; it's not *just* a matter of being saved by modern hardware. A dev called T0st found a bug in the code that meant that, when it was loading, it was checking and rechecking the same set of data over and over again in an extremely wasteful way; they tweaked the routine, managing to cut the loading time by several minutes, and Rockstar patched the game accordingly. I *think* that only affected GTA Online, mind.
V-Rock pretty much introduced me to hard rock and heavy metal when I first played Vice City and VCS and I never looked back! I hope there’ll be a hard rock and metal station in GTA VI 🙏🤘🤘
Could not agree more with the san andreas cheats section. There are so many and there is such a good variety that the combos you can do are almost limitless. Especially before trophies were a thing so trophy hunters didnt have to worry about messing up their save. Loved san andreas
A true GTA fan acknowledges the bad things implemented in all the games.
I totally agree, Liberty City Stories theme song was/is the best, followed by GTA 4's theme song. Was Giorgio Moroder who composed it? No idea.
Flight school was my worst thing still can't make it past that 12:06
it honestly sounds like stat requirements are the general concept for all those terrible parts of GTASA because those are all stats that players have to upkeep intentionally
One thing I've noticed, is that most people who played SA or V, or any other GTA Game, are disappointed with IV's lack of customizations and activities. That's what most people wanted because that's what were present in GTA Games that had Los Santos as their map, because they would rather do anything else than play the story. So they never really appreciated what bigger upgrades IV actually focused and improved upon instead, like the Story, Characters, Protagonist, Details, Features, Physics, Realism, Map, Interiors. These were the Major Upgrades Rockstar had done and offered in this game, but people were still disappointed because they couldn't give Niko hairstyles and silly clothes that probably wouldn't even suit his taste, and were wishing they could fly planes instead. We already have helicopters which could land us anywhere on the map and even rooftops where we could just camp on those pesky cops and feel undefeatable because we have the high ground. Tell me, can a plane land you on rooftops and have fun being a camper? I don't think so. Helicopters are underappreciated, and most players these days are just a bunch of spoiled brats now.
I prefer iv because naturally I don’t care about any of the customization. I just want to steal cars and do missions, the physics engine alone puts it above all the others for me. The story is damn good to me toov
First person I ever heard complain about a game bring to long 🤨 I wish games more long now days
For me, the worst thing in GTA 2 is how repetitive some missions get. Every district has a mission where you:
- Killl hitmen from an enemy gang, then kill the top assassin in the bullet-proof car;
- Steal all police vehicles available in the district (In the industrial district, for example, you have to steal a swat van, a special agent car and a tank);
- Infiltrate the military base to steal a tank (only in the last two levels, but still);
- Steal one gang's car to kill members of another gang, in order to start a gang war.
