Thank you so much for your help! The saw gathered up a length of small black nylon line and melted it into a washer looking mass that wrapped around the shaft and even into the roller bearing. There were enough strands for me to see what it was, but I looked to you to see what went in there. Fixed now! Thanks.
Great information Dony. You most likely saved lots of saws with this video. I certainly like tips like this one. Thank you.
Just to add a note, when I reinstall a clutch drum I always lubricate the race bearing that the drum rides on.
Excellent video and tip. I love learning something new! Now I'll know if I ever need to work on that part of my Stihl chainsaw. Thanks again Dony!
Another great tip! I miss your Q&A videos.
+Tommyr thanks for the reminder

Love the chainsaw videos. Thanks Don.
Thanks Don. Great tip. I will use that but I have slowed down on the chain saw repairs this year as there is just too much rope pulling for me.

Hi Don, it has been awhile. Hope things are easing up.
Donyboy73, quick question. What is your recommendation between a Spur sprocket and a Rim sprocket for heavy wood cutting? Do you recommend one over the other? Please comment.
+DownTownBrown71 I prefer rim sprocket, also easier to replace sometimes
Hi donyboy73.
Clutch gear that will be better for Stihl MS 180 with a floating or fixed weel?
Sorry I used the google translator ;p
When would a clutch drum need replacing?
would a ms250 be the same style?
+Ken Hilson yes same style
hows it going don
How can I tell if my oiul pump is sending enough oil to my chain?
+Adam Misztal What I do is run it with the bar and chain pointed toward a piece of paper or cardboard. You should see some oil spatters on it if you rev it up a little. Not sure if that's scientific, but it seems to do the trick.
Cool
When would a clutch drum need replacing?
+LoveStihlQuality when the spur sprocket on it or the splines for the rim sprocket are worn
