The only soprano who reaches the same heights as Sutherland in this type of music and perhaps catches even more of the emotion of the character as well.
This why she is the greatest interpreter of the Mozart dramatic roles. She is completely without fear. She throws her voice at this fiendishly difficult aria and does not hold back.
Heldegard Behrens sung Electra at the Met 1982 & she brought the house down. She was Electra !!! If only for a brief moment. Moser lacks that crazy mad element etc. Arnold Bourbon Amaral
Arnold Amaral Hildegard Behrens sung a phenomenal and breathtaking Elettra, of course; but I don't think she was "perfect", her style was all but mozartian; she ends the aria with a cry that belongs to verismo style, if not espressionismo; and she didn't sing the staccatos, you must sing the picchettatos because Mozart wrote them, in order to give the idea of a desperate laugh.
couldn´t agree with you more! they both have the most mozartian voices!!! and they understand the music better than anyone... probably diana damrau is in the same league, but she she is a loght coloratura soprano, her voice is not as heavy as theirs, but you are right, these two women are the goddesses in the Mozart Oliymp
@silvr94 I agree. the more dramatic the singer's presence, opera is supposed to be attention grabbing and intense. if these qualities are not their, I get rather bored

Hands down catches the emotion better than Sutherland and with a much more developed lower register. A magnificent singer to say the least.
If she were born in Mozart's days, her voice would've probably been one of the best gifts given to him!
the more I listen to Edda Moser, the more I love her. She is wonderful in this role !
Edda is PERFECT!!! the beauty of her voice is stunning
Best version I've ever heard. Edda Moser is just phenomenal. Crisp clear voice and the acting is out of the world. Love you Edda.❤❤❤
Listen the Sutherland version.

I keep underestimating Moser in Mozart's roles! And what an orchestra!
OHH the staccatos!!! BRAVA
I love the vibrato. It seems to suit the character - AND, she's really in control of her instrument. Wonderful singing!
I just peed my pants! Phenomenal!
HOLY CATS MAN!!!! That was PHENOMENAL!!!!
Excellent! She is in her element here.
Quel feu ! Quelles flammes ! Quelle ligne de chant ! Quelle splendeur !
One of the best things that happened to me in the last months...
Perfect!
Wow such dramatism.... Moser always gives me goosebumps (in a good sense)
What a beautiful woman!
Fenomenal!
Haven't found a better Elettra yet!
Simply amazing! Along with her Donna Anna's Or sai che l'onore... always sends shivers down my spine!
era desso don’t forget her “Der Holle Rache.”
She is the best Electra I've heard
That's debatebly my friend. Arnold Bourbon Amaral
UNA DIOSAA
The one and only Elettra.
i love the way the orchestra begins the aria at 1:03
The last "hört" - pure perfection.
You are probably thinking of "Der Holle Rache" from "Die Zauberflote."
+Jose Hill haha yes, sorry wrong video :p
Krowa Paulinka but you are correct, that last “hort” is badass
#bestmistakeever
Ufff....Frau Moser !!! Die Erste Sängerin
Wonderful, bravíssima... The best Electra of all times.
Supreme.
Date?
Too bad we don't have a video of that performance

The sad little troll is back.
@@Muttonchop_USA Not sad and not a troll. Arnold Amaral is a discerning opera fan of wide experience and intelligence.

Deranged, in the best way.
Dead !!!!!!!!
an elettra second only to dame joan sutherland!
ella es la que tiene mucho vibrato
jajaja
