    I'm glad to see someone understands the importance of resonance suppression in the vinyl itself and the need for coupling the record to the platter. One of newton's law says that when two objects are in contact any kinetic energy between them (such as vibrating vinyl) transfers to the object of highest mass (the platter) and dissipated as heat. Hence the need for a coupling system such as a vacuum hold down or a clamp and ring. The idea of suspending a record on points where very little of the vinyl's surface comes into contact with the mat/platter is highly detrimental to suppressing unwanted vibrations and retrieving information from the groove.

    There is a 0.6mm thick ring lip on the inside of the ring .
    So,the “ring lip” is only 0.6mm above the record and sitting on the very edge of the record. Even after you place the ring, there is still room for the beginning of first track.
    Hope this help!
Best regards,
Wayne

    how about the bearing and motor of the technics can it flawlessly handle the extra weight of the periphery outer ring.
    Even if I use it for a long period.

    Hi Wayne! I use one of your clamps for my Thorens and love it. Just picked up an SL1210GR. Will this clamp effect the strobe speed, etc? (not sure if strobes need to see those dots on the sides of the platter, etc). Probably a stupid question I know lol:) Thanks!

      It will not affect the strobe speed, use it with confidence.

    You better be super careful every time you drop a needle on a record you don’t miss and hit the metal ring.
    This would drive me insane

    Hi Wayne isn't that 750/900g weight on Stabilizing Clamp WS too much for the motor and bearing?

    • @waynechuang2680
      @waynechuang2680  Před rokem +1

      No, if your turntable spindle is functioning properly, the weight will not have a negative affect.
      Thanks,

    Is this compatibles with the SL-1200GR2 and Nagaoka MP-500 cart?

    • @waynechuang2680
      @waynechuang2680  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes, fit perfectly with your SL-1200GR2.
      Our outer rings are universal, flattened your records, protect your cartridge, improve your listening experience, you can definitely hear the sound improvement when using them, because it’s makes the record sit completely on the platter with no air between it, thus increasing sound quality.
      This product is revolutionary for vinyl playback and can not only fix warps quickly in seconds, but also improve speed stability when the outer ring is installed.
      I have great customer's feedback on eBay, Audiogon & Audio Mart, please review them, make an order, try it on, I’m sure you will love it.
      Thanks,
      Wayne

    Is there's any possibility some cartridge could come in contact with the outer ring because at the starting point of a record they run very close side by side and there is such a small space between the top of the outer ring and the underside of the body of a cartridge

    Looks good but does absolutely nothing for the sound. All it does is stress the bearings and motor and empty your wallet. It is called placebo effect.

    • @socksumi
      @socksumi Před 8 měsíci +2

      A ring/clamp couples the record to the mat & platter and helps to suppress unwanted resonant energy reverberating through the vinyl. This resonant energy can and does interfere with stylus/groove information retrieval and thus affects the sound.

    • @paulboyce8537
      @paulboyce8537 Před 8 měsíci

      @@socksumi If the vinyl is that damaged you shouldn't play it in the first place. The extra weight does nothing. The bad record will damage your stylus and the weight your turntable. Blind test and you won't be able to hear any difference. It has been done many times and proved it is a placebo.

    • @socksumi
      @socksumi Před 8 měsíci +2

      @@paulboyce8537 Oh lord... I'm not talking about damaged vinyl. All vinyl is inherently resonant as it's being played due to the vibrational energy being generated by the stylus tracing the record grooves. This energy moves around the record like ripples in a pond. You can even hear the chirping by putting your ear up close to the record while it's played (speakers off). That chirping is louder on a poorly supported record. Properly clamping the record such as a vacuum hold down system or ring/clamp so that every square inch is in solid contact with the mat/platter mechanically damps this resonance in the vinyl and the chirping becomes noticeably more muted. I've heard this effect for myself. It works similar to the damping pedal used in pianos. It's basic physics.

      @@paulboyce8537 By people who can't hear, apparently, I feel sorry for them.
      Also, virtually every LP has some degree of edge warp which the ring also flattens out.
      You can use a ring or choose a table with vacuum hold-down.
