Not sure why Leo didn’t give byleth a go lol? He kind of obliterated Asimo with Byleth the last time they played in bracket.
Leo lost faith in byleth. Now every single person he destroyed with byleth have nothing to fear anymore.
Which is genuinely sad.
Worse of it all is Byleth is good. Not top tier good (maybe lower high tier), but like I've heard things like Pyra > Byleth, and I was like 🤦♂️ It's a shame really, I think MkLeo could have pushed Byleth a lot farther. I understand playing mainly Joker in this meta, but putting Byleth in the Shadow Realm was not the way ; he's better than Joker in some matchups
Leo dropped both his Byleth and his Corrin when they were still doing wrong.

There's a reason Byleth is better in the MU. Byleth has the range advantage while Joker has to get in and get multiple touches. Ryu is killing you easily. But even if Leo went Byleth he probably still would've lost.

was thinking this exact same shit. people don't really recognize that sometimes top players are all vulnerable to sinking in competition as other players become better. leo just needs to improve and focus on what he wants to play, whether that be joker or otherwise.

Dw Leo doesn’t like fighting shotos w joker. Remember how he lost to titan in pool from Genesis this year ? I think his aegis could have done it if he started game 1, but I still know his joker is more than capable of running it back. He’s got it next time!

Si Mkleo hubiera sacado a Byleth en lugar de Aegis... ahhh bueno miento, es obvio que lo dropeo hace tiempo, pero creo que el Ashen demon podia cubrir mejor algunas desventajas donde las Aegis ni Joker podrian
En general Byleth tiene mejor matchup contra Ryu que espadachines o brawlers
Ryu QUIERE que te acerques a él para castigarte, porque a él por su propio cuenta se le dificulta mucho acercarse. Byleth al tener rango con básicamente todos sus ataques se puede acercar de forma mucho más segura a Ryu

Heavier, better range, way better edge guard, yolo kill moves. I would definitely go Byleth over Joker or Aegis
To be fair, Byleth fell off the moment people learned FOOS options. Byleth's main neutral tool is nair and you almost can't use it on shield anymore against a lot of characters that have good FOOS options. Especially ones that kill confirm. So I see why he doesn't keep the character in practice. Plus, I'd say Byleth/Joker both lose or struggle in similar MUs like Sonic, Rats, Mega Man, etc. with a few others that the other doesn't share. On paper, it makes sense to pick Aegis over Byleth as a secondary. And balancing 3 characters is just a nightmare. In general, I don't think Leo plays well into the shotos and just something to work on.

Leo should stick to Joker and grind seriously, perhaps bring out the Byleth every now and then. His Pyra and Mythra really is not it; I feel like I barely ever see him win with this character anytime he faces against a top 50 caliber player.

Asimo usually has a bad time against players who can condition and adapt really well. When I saw the start of the second game, I legitimately thought asimo was gonna lose

Anyway, I think the issue is that MKLeo is EXPECTING people to fear Arsene and panic react when everyone that’s studied him and played against decent Jokers realize playing patiently and pressing your advantage or forcing him to come to you will mitigate Arsene’s usage. It’s no longer a get out of jail free card, and everyone’s mostly gotten used to it at that level of play. TBH Byleth should have never been considered; a mid tier character at best whose one shot explodes crumbling when people got used to it? Who would have thought.

It's weird that people keep referring to Leo as the G.O.A.T. I do agree that MkLeo's Joker from about 4-5 years ago was probably the best Smash Bros player to ever live. So in that sense, MkLeo's PAST SELF is the GOAT. But MkLeo today seems to be only a shadow of his former self. No way could anyone argue that he is the best player in the world today.
