I really like the very early "capped bust" design, and the reverse designs showing the fraction "1/100". It's just so cool to be holding one of the first coins put out by a the new nation.
I've been working on this book for some time now. Only seven left, I think. I love the die cracks on the Coronets. Classic Heads are super-hard to find in any kind of non-junky condition.
As someone who has a large cent collection I personally don't really care that much about the varieties because many are very Suttle and to me doesn't really make a huge difference except the overdates. I just collect them by year and period.
I believe the mint burned in 1815...Capped bust coins are really neat...I collect .50c and Morgan Dollars mainly...and SILVER!!! Thanks Ben, interesting and educational, love it...cheers.
I only have three US large cents, but I'm getting a 1797-8 penny soon. Currently i have an 1812, an 1818, and an 1851. I'm trying to build a typeset of each coin, and since i finished the nickels, I've moved to pennies (for now I've got to stop at 1794, but eventually i want to get a 1793, even if it's really beat up). It's nice to see some better examples of really old US coinage
Nice I started collecting them years ago. The coin store I went to had a bucket of them. The owner sold 60 of them to me cheap, he said noone else wanted them.
Early US copper is my favorite. Working on this album at the moment, I believe I have 48/64 spots full. Also about to start on the half cents, which will definitely be a difficult task.
Varieties - The most detailed variety guide in existence now is the Fortin Seated Dime guide - Free online - if it were a book, it would be over 2,000 pages, so it will always stay an on line ref. Seated Dimes are a great hobby.
Great video. But I'm having a hard getting all the Morgan dollars. I'm only 40 years old so I will keep them in mind. Maybe get one here and there. Thanks
An incredibly difficult endeavor is to try to build as large of a collection of these as possible, different dates, but ALL OF THEM fiery, blazing red in mint state- the bank account will be depleted QUICKLY 😳
My book is an almost perfect duplicate of yours except I have the 1793, 1799, & 1804 holes filled. With Royal Oak and Gallery Mint museum-quality replicas, so I got you beat, sort of. I did it so the book was filled until such time as I could acquire the 3 super rare ones.
2 suggestion… on your close up shots, keep your movements very slow & smooth. This vid was hard for me to watch cuz it was so jerky. And your audio content needs more continuity or better flow/focus. No hate just ideas. Peace✌️

Fantastic Ben. Yes I do have a large cent album. I need five coins to complete the album. 1793, 1799, 1804, 1811 and I think the 1835.

Very nice collection

Very cool video, I wish I had more of these. Some day maybe I’ll have a collection 10% as good as yours!
I never realized that some large cents have edge lettering - deeply cool !

My favorite coins are early American copper. Large cents and especially half cents. That’s a cool collection!
Large Cents are the best since they were the coins of the masses. Tons of history with them.

Amazing set of coins. Thanks for sharing
Very informative. An often overlooked series, particularly for the pre 1830s issues.
Very well done video! I was educated and entertained all the way through!

I'm currently working on a type set of half cents. The hardest for me to locate is a braided hair. Lots of varieties.
Really nice early cents! 👍
The coins from the 1820s and 1830s have so much more detail. Better strike, different metal, or just 40 years less wear?
Awesome collection
Wow I wish I had as many as you! I only have 3 large cents but I think I’ll buy a book and collect more of them
I recently just got my first large cent! Its a 1845! I hoping to get more in the future lol they are really cool.
Great video. But I'm having a hard getting all the Morgan dollars. I'm only 40 years old so I will keep them in mind. Maybe get one here and there. Thanks
Do they all carry a value do to rareness ? Or just good condition & low mint amounts coins.
I'm interested in what the complete Large Cent collection (1793-1856) would be worth?
The fact he has this many large cents scares me

Why was 1815 year skipped?
Where could you buy a set like this and how much are they?
Does your shop ship to Ireland ?
Each country has different standards for shipping- I’m always up to try a new country!
@@TheCoinGeek Thank you for the reply! Do you have any idea what the rates to Ireland would be ?
What would this collection be valued at?
Very hard to build the entire set i will try building a set of each type in nicer grade
Im interested in that 1835 for my Dansco 7070. Shoot me a price before you put it on eBay if you see this.
I believe it is being put on eBay as a collection- but it may not sell and then we are likely to break it up.
